I think the e250 is a bit lousier, the m250, the one I have, works fine, but the e250 has received more negative reviews... in any case, rvalkass' idea is good. I've had a creative player for a while and it is indestructible. You could bang it with a hammer, throw it off a 200 foot cliff and it'd still work.

I've heard a lot of stories like this one, but I have to take a second here and giggle to myself that I am so lucky. I have a sansa m250 and it has served me wonderfully for over a year now, it has survived being dropped two or three times, unfortunately the headphones it came with are dead, but ear buds usually don't last very long, that's a fact of life. I think, though, that the m250 is pretty good, my friend has an m260 I think (similar model) and hers works well too. in fact, I would actually recommend this player, I think the only thing wrong with it is that you can hear a little "blip" in between songs.conal, what model did you have?

okay, well, I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but something interesting with magnets I've seen is diamagnetic levitation. You can see an okay example if you go to youtube, but I saw this thing powered by itself, as in a piece of bismuth floating over a magnet without any external stimulus, I'm not sure if this is exactly the same, but this could be used for some really, really cool stuff in the future maybe.

99 Facts About Guys! Believe It Or Not...
cangor replied to wizardmasteralucard's topic in Dating And Relationships
well, let's see. 1. true sometimes. depends on the guy. 2. heck no. Well, some do, but a lot don't. 3. depends on the guy. 4. uh... no. not true. well, then again, maybe depending on the guy, but if I said that it'd mean something like "stop beating around the bush" or "I can't believe you're acting like that." if that makes any sense at all. 5. or, "hey, how are you?" 6. yeah, but I still really think guys who flirt around all day are... uh... not worth being with. 7. true. but he doesn't just disregard them, he likes them 8. yes. 9. not... anything.... 10. I dunno, I don't hang out with girls who have been like, 50 boyfriends, because I wouldn't want to be #51 and I don't like girls who are always clingy to guys either 11. yeah, why not? 12. uh, guys, don't drink. well, water, but not booze. 13. and we don't admit it. 14. uh... 15. meaning...? I think that makes sense. 16. I never accept defeat. 17. ... 18. that depends what you're thinking, ladies. 19. guys just go crazy when girls touch them period. 20. yeah, sometimes. 21. sometimes... 22. yes. well, depends what. 23. well, guys know what the message is but they'd rather play dumb. or else, yeah, some just don't get it. 24. hate.... I dunno about hate, I don't really. 25. some do, some don't. 26. absolutely. 27. uh, when a girl likes me and I don't like them I just feel awkward a while and tell them, "let's just be friends" and then forget it. 28. well, yeah, of course. 29. absolutely. I hate it when people throw "I love you's" around 30. 31. I don't even know what that means. 32. some are, some aren't. actually, I think they're really clammy. 33. define "good" and define "test" 34. you can learn to spot them, seriously. or at least other guys can tell. 35. true, usually. 36. well, duh, they like them. and yes, absolutely. 37. I dunno. I'm a guy, I don't have a boyfriend. I have a girlfriend. But, it depends on the guy, and I don't really think this is true, unless the guy's a jerk/loser. 38. yeah, be sympathetic, but give him advice, he values what you have to say 39.I hate it when guys do that, but, yeah, maybe I do that once in a while too. 40. uh, like keeping you for himself, sure. 41. Decent guys do. 42. yeah. though that sentence really isn't in english, and usually whatever a guy gets is just so nice and thoughtful that... yeah, guys, thoughtful gifts are better than expensive gifts. 43. you mean they brag about virtually anything. well, if the guy's really insecure, then sure, but a good guy will be really modest. 44. false. 45. some do, some think to little, some don't think at all. 46. ~? 47. uh, I think this depends on the guy, but weight definitely matters (in general) more than height. 48. possessive? depends on the guy, once again. me? not really. 49. it just pisses me off, but... yeah, I guess... 50. what, did you think it was? 51. depends on the guy, but, yeah, you should. 52. how about not getting in a relationship with him until he's mature enough to actually have one? what a concept! 53. I think girls blame themselves a lot though, too, but, yeah, guys more. Emo cuts? Not sure. 54. most guys, true. 75% of guys (at least) have no will power. 55. mostly, yes. 56. I don't sweat when I'm nervous, and I bet a lot of other guys don't either. 57. yes. 58. yes. but guys, you should really never do this. How about actually saying "Please, can you listen to me?" 59. about what? sure we do. 60. uh, sure. 61. you should listen to him period. 62. yes. 63. sure. 64. yeah, I guess. 65. not necessarily true, but... uh? 66. yeah. 67. Dude, basketball is SO not a waste of time......... ... 68. if you make something for a guy he'll love it period. 69. yes. meaning hard-working, dependable, loving, and strong. 70. no, really? 71. depends on the guy and his friends. not usually. 72. yeah. 73. I guess...? 74. yup. 75. lies. 76. I dunno I've never had someone say that to me before, but I imagine that statement's true. 77. yeah. so true. 78. well, not offending, maybe awkward or not funny. basically, he can't believe that you did something "not perfect" if he likes you, if he doesn't like you he just won't smile at all. 79. ? 80. I don't generalize. Maybe some do, but it really depends on the girls you know. 81. deal with what? 82. as in so objectionable? Maybe... depends. 83. ? 84. yeah. 85. uh, no, like, he looks good but is always trying to look better means he's just trying to be attractive. if he's ugly and conscious about his looks and does nothing to change it then he's just a slob. 86. no. absolutely not. 87. dump him the first time, come on. 88. yeah. 89. who is "I?" but I guess so. 90. yeah. 91. oh yes. 92. well, it depends, I mean, what's "suddenly," most guys are just so nervous about asking a girl out but they just want to hang out. 93. uh, no, that's so not true. well, it depends on the guy, but half of guys would only say that if they're crazy about you, the other half is just flattering you. 94. yeah. 95. uh, didn't you just say the opposite earlier or am I imagining things? Anyway, I seek help from both. perspective, there. 96. things? 97. yeah. especially if he says "beautiful" and not "hot" or "cute," because if he says beautiful he's talking about your inner beauty as well. 98. to what? 99. yes. well, I think that's what I've got to say... just, girls, don't assume anything about guys because they're all different and, I dunno, you can draw a lot of generalizations about some types of guys if you've known them for a while but, figure it out based on experience, not lists posted on blogs. -
Fed Up With Microsoft Xbox 360 And Xbox Live Account Microsoft :(
cangor replied to GamerGlitch's topic in The Vent
Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, even if you're paying for a service you're still bound to the "terms and conditions" which everyone should read but nobody does. So, if, like Plenoptic says, that means temporary banning, it's your fault for not knowing what the consequences would be. Also, BenDidYourMom isn't funny at all, I mean, why choose such an immature name in the first place. Just grow up a bit and choose something more fitting like, say, GamerGlitch, or more cool like, say, cangor. -
I don't even think we should have started the war in Iraq in the first place, because it's not the job of the united states to be the police of the world, but, I totally agree with Galgy that politics just end up screwing war up. And, you know, I think the only reason war should ever be fought anyway is in self defense, otherwise it's just murder.

Yeah, it would be great for going camping in the mountains except all the mountain lions come after you.

I heard that catnip oil repels mosquitoes, and I don't really know about spiders, even though those guys really piss my off because we've got them everywhere. I think there are a lot of creams you can get to put on once you've been bitten, but I don't know about prevention, for spiders which are the worst problem for me a haldheld vacuum can work wonders, just getting rid of them seems to help. For mosquitoes there are also those salmonella candles but I don't know how well those work.

Yeah, pretty much everything nowdays is based on math. I mean, no math means no measuring, which means no delicious cheezy puffs sold by weight, and so they'd have no way to sell cheezy puffs fairly. Plus, you couldn't design cheezy puff making machines with out math (as Tetraca said, architecture) because you couldn't design any type of complex machine, so there wouldn't even be delicious cheezy puffs in the first place.Basically, no area of life would remain the same.

Ya know, I actually understand exactly what you're talking about, Mermaid711. And I guess a lot of guys are like what you're talking about, and as truefusion says, they don't deserve to be called men. But, I don't think that guys are going to treat you that badly without a reason. I mean, what Watermonkey said makes sense. If you want to stop being treated like a sex object, the stop acting like one. Also, choose your friends wisely. If you hang out with people who want to be treated as sex objects, others are automatically going to think that you do too, or that it's okay to. There are a lot... well, maybe not a lot, but some, decent guys out there who won't treat you like a sex object, and those are the people you should hang out with. Uh... as a guy I wish I could answer that but I really can't. All I know is that it's not just the testosterone but the total immaturity most high school guys live. So, uh, sorry, I can't help more, but, just take a look at yourself and ask yourself why people treat you like this and see if there's anything about your personality you can change to solve your problem. I guess... Just hope you work it out.

Sat Thoughts, How Did You Do On The Sats Scholastic Aptitude Tests
cangor replied to etycto's topic in General Discussion
well, I'm not a college grad I'm in high school but my brother's a student in college. For him the SAT was really hard and even though he was valedictorian his poor-ish sat score (around 1250 on the 1600 scale) meant that he couldn't get into a really good college. He took the ACT and didn't do much better, but I hear that the ACT is easier for some people and colleges will usually accept the ACT instead. As for me, well, the SAT was really easy, but I'm just one of those crazy test-taking people, and I got around a 2300 on the 2400 scale. I would take some practice ones to find out how you're going to do first, I think there are some available online. If you do good in practice, you'll be a lot more confident going in, and if you don't, then you can figure out where you need to focus your effort. -
I dunno... I think some people get waaay too obsessed with MMORPG's, I have some friends who are, but we can talk about other stuff. What annoys me a bit but moreso I just find really dumb is when they talk about it with other people who play whatever a lot, as in, it's all they ever talk about. Not only is it annoying, but I think it's so dumb that you can't talk about anything else with your friends. Get a life!

Yeah, um, I hate that kind of person. I mean, I really hate people who just have a beef with people just for the sake of being jerks. Like this one time, some random person gives me a really juvenile insult, I say something back which was a pretty noninflammatory comeback, and he attacks me. I mean, if you're going to dish it, you've got to be able to take it, and why would you even bother insulting some random person anyway?I also hate it when people are whining and complaining about stuff others don't really care about, like you said. I mean, if a person wants to whine about something, then do it to someone who'll listen, I've got better things to do then listen to you. I mean, if the person's my friend and they've actually got a reason to be annoyed, I'll listen, but if it's just someone who wants everybody to focus on them then I just can't stand it. Some people just talk like that to be the center of attention and they don't even have the right to be angry about anything but they do it just so they feel like the center of attention. Pathetic.

My Cousin And (former) Best Friend cant see that shes engaged to a LOSER
cangor replied to TikiPrincess's topic in The Vent
Yep. All I can say is that I empathize with you one hundred percent. I mean, I would say that you're overreacting and you probably just need to give her space, but it seriously sounds like you cousin has turned into a total loser. All I can really say is that I'm sorry and I know exactly how you feel, something kinda similar is going on in my life as well right now, and I guess I just wish you the best and hope you two can work things out sometime in the future. -
It's just virtual reality... that's not that impressive, 'cause they've had this sort of thing for a while. And besides, why live in a virtual world? There are plenty of cool things to be doing outside of games! And please learn to use proper English. First of all it's just polite, second this isn't IMing, it's a forum, you don't have to spit out as much as you can in the shortest amount of time, and third, you'll get more hosting credits if you use longer words.
-
Yeah, that does sound kinda weird... It's at least a house, like you said, but I can understand why it would feel so weird. As for the egging, have you tried calling the cops or something? Vandalism's illegal.

Let Us Say Paradise Exists! would you want to die?
cangor replied to Zlash's topic in Health & Fitness
^ I agree with this. I mean, I believe in paradise, being Christian, but I think that as long as I'm stuck on this earth I might as well make the most of it, because that's what we're here to do. If you want to die just because life isn't perfect then you probably don't deserve to go to heaven, I guess. There will always be times when you feel lousy, but in those times you just have to bear it, there will be good times to. Heaven's just something to look forward to, I guess you could say. -
Does The Moon Have Any Influence Over Us?
cangor replied to TikiPrincess's topic in Science and Technology
I dunno... I think that's kinda a crazy idea... I mean... things just cycle... I don't think the moon has a huge effect on us as humans, or if it did smart people would have already figured it out. So, uh, I don't really think so. -
What Do Your Teachers Do After School? Mine....
cangor replied to Becca's topic in General Discussion
A group of teachers at my school are in a band, they're pretty good. A lot of my teachers have families to go home to and stuff, and others stay and help students. I'm planning on visiting some of my teachers over the summer with friends, especially one, who just taught for their last year ever... and she was amazing, too, which is too bad for next year's students. -
Whiny Theists And Just-for-the-heck-of-it Atheists! Sheesh...
cangor replied to sylenzednuke's topic in The Vent
Yeah, I definately agree with the second part. I mean, I'm religious, but I don't try to convince my atheist friends to become religious. We talk about religion sometimes and most of them can have a decent conversation without anything getting bloody. There are still those people who are just like "how can you be so dumb to believe that..." and that really pisses me off, people should at least be open to discussing different views... -
I dunno. You can argue both ways about this guy. I mean, the fact that he engineered gases for chemical warfare is bad, but, it's war, and that's what happens in war. War is terrible, war is nasty, war is inhuman. Chemical warfare is awful, but it's just as bad as shooting someone with guns and, in my eyes, not that different. It's all bad, and I think war is just awful in the first place. On the other hand, he figured out how to get ammonia, which is used in a bunch of things, so that's a good thing. According to the article he also developed gas masks, so he did other good stuff. I don't think chemical warfare is what caused world war two, though, and I'm sure someone else would have invented it without his work, so, I dunno, like I said. Are we really to say that this guy is that awful? He was a scientist, and he discovered something terrible that was used for bad. We could say the guys who developed nuclear weapons are a lot worse, but we don't, because we used them. I mean, how's that for comparison. What this guy did is bad, but, I mean, gee, talk about moral relativism... nuclear weapons are a lot nastier and have caused a lot more problems.

I dunno. I definitely believe in a sixth sense, just because... well, I really don't know, but some times, things are waaaay too strange to be coincidence. P.S. Nice poem
-
I wear glasses, and they aren't that bad, but it's just nice to not have to wear them anyways. Luckily my eyesight isn't that bad so if I really don't feel like wearing them I don't have to. I'm going to get laser surgery eventually, because it's just nicer and more convenient than glasses... The cost? Well, it's cheaper than having to buy glasses or contacts for the rest of your life, eh?

Now.. Google Street View another Google Earth service
cangor replied to SamiFX's topic in The Internet
Daaaaaaaaaaaangggggggggggg...... That's unbelievable. I can't imagine how many images that is. I saw this about a week ago. I hope they do it for my city...Mwahaha... a new way to waste time online! -
I dunno. I'm really weary of cholesterol meds because they can destroy your liver. You say you're in perfect health, but at that age, just because you're thin and work out doesn't mean you're healthy. If you eat a lot of junk food, you might not get fat, but it's still terrible for your body and cholesterol. If your cholesterol is high that means there's something wrong. You have to take good care of your body, eat less junk food, hydrogenated fats, and sugars, and your cholesterol should return to a normal level. Second, in the 280s isn't that high. Your body needs some cholesterol and, while that's a little high, your cholesterol doesn't have to be 100 or something. I think with some positive lifestyle changes you could keep your cholesterol lower and not have to ruin your body with medications. As for how it is to remember, well, for me I don't really have a problem remembering this kind of thing once I'm in a routine, but you might want to set an alarm or something. Still, I recommend you try other things then getting on statins (cholesterol drugs).
