I havent seen the film yet... I tried to yesterday, but it was sold out... It has been sold out for FIVE WEEKS! Jesus, now that's a worthy film! From what I've seen it looks like the ultimate fantasy film. Nothing about it is realistic, nor does it pretend to be, it is a stupid film in many respects, i have seen chunks of rock floating in mid air, but i dont care! It's a fantasy film and it is a film for pure enjoyment, rather than being scary or violent or emotional. I am looking forward to seeing it, my local cinema, which isnt even that popular, is showing it until Feb the 18th, so hopefully i will be able to find a screening when it isnt sold out and preferably not busy either...What is the 3D like? Is it good or rather shabby? The last thing i saw in 3d was the old red/blue stuff and was a red bull advert. It didnt look good....But this one uses the polarization technique and the only implementation that i have seen of that was for interactive whiteboard projectors for classrooms... Again, i wasnt impressed.

Thats not PHP, thats most likely Javascript.PHP cant do things like that, PHP is purely in the background doing all the working out and then chucking out variables. IT cant make effects in a webpage. Only things like flash, java and javascript can do that.

Is Creating A Real Website A Very Difficult Job? Need Help!
shadowx replied to iGuest's topic in Web Hosting Support
If you want a decent site i strongly recommend not using these silly little web builders. Your site just looks like everyone else's. IMHO if you cant create and manage a website without using a one click web-builder then you shouldnt have a website. It just looks bad.... Really bad. -
Anyone? Even the ability to edit the CNAME records would be a good start? Is that possible?

Questions About Website In My Local Server using xampp
shadowx replied to mra550's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Go to http://obsolete.whatsmyip.org/ Your ip address is then shown at the top. Give that to your friend and then make sure XAMPP is running and disable your firewall on port 80. You should be able to add an exception rule something like "allow all on port 80" you would normally be asked to select all/disallow from a drop down list, then select the port number. That should then work. -
You put it perfectly. And you touched on prayer almost whereby you ask of the universe and it provides. IMHO christian, jewish etc... prayer is simply magick. They charge their thoughts with images and feelings of the desired outcome, form it into a string of words and ask the universe to provide. The only difference with magick is that instead of asking the universe, magick seeks to *make* it happen, rather than ask for it to happen.

Setting up a blog and i want to run it through an IFRAME to get it to display on my site rather than the blogger site. That's easy. However if someone finds my site through blogger i want them to be redirected to my site to view the blog. This too should be easy, however apparently i need to add a CNAME record to the DNS records through xisto or my Cpanel...How do i do this? The google instructions are: but i cant find any way of editing the DNS records. Can anyone help? I can get it to redirect to my website, however that then sets up a loop because my blog redirects to my website's blog page, which then tries to find my blog and when it does it gets auto redirected back to blogger which then redirects back to my site and so on... it just doesnt work... so im hoping there is a way to solve this? I cant use a link on the blog because that would just look dumb on my website.

Strange Folders In My Web Root Folder. Security Breach?
shadowx replied to shadowx's topic in Web Hosting Support
Interesting.... My scripts are secure, the only php login stuff i have is for my gallery, i use a dynamic: index.php?module=home type system but it doesnt include files straight from the URL, it looks at the variable then uses a switch case statement to assign a second variable which is the name of the file to include, if it doesnt match a known file it will include the default so that is secure. The gallery isnt made by me but seems to be secure. My Pc should be clean as it is linux and behind NAT so that shouldnt be the weakness and my password was a combo of two completely unrelated words (technically one is a name) separated by 2 numbers so that should be strong. Can any mods shed any light on this? -
Updating my site and looking through the logs my eye caught a visit to a page called "klux.php" i viewed the file which was in a subfolder under "iqici" and as i suspected it was full of references to the KKK.Needless to say this isnt something i want on my website. So i looked at the folder and saw a few strange files as well as the folder where the klux.php file is, looking in there its just a huge alphabetical list of .php pages with usually innocuous names. What the hell is this? The logs state that various bots have crawled the pages but i really want to know how they got there and who from.My password is secure and the only machine i have it saved on is a linux laptop that sits behind a NAT enabled router with 3 other windows boxes all of which are clean of malware (as far as i know)I have logged in at work however we have Sophos AV and a router based firewall and i am a network admin so i know it isnt being sniffed by anyone else deliberately (its a school, these kids dont have the knowledge to sniff an entire network) so how did it get there?I hope some other hosted members can check their own accounts for folders in the web root (the WWW folder or public_html) for the folder iqici and let me know if it is there. If this is a folder put in by xisto i will be very, very annoyed.I have placed the folder in my deleted items bin so it is not accessible and i am about to change my password to make sure that is not the cause.

Firefox 3.6 Released Now with more awesomeness
shadowx replied to -Sky-'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Already got the personas and themes. Had them for a few months now through an addon, it has a built in gallery of hundreds of personas to choose from as well as the top 15 or 20. -
Good guess, i am a techie XDI learned about BIOS beeps back in college, the rest is just what i was advised to do by HP when one our laptops died on us so i cant claim all the credit!I dont think any of it is particularly effective, the idea seems to be to completely clear all the memory in the machine (apart from the hardrive) so that means clearing out the BIOS cache, the RAM, the ram/cpu caches etc... so you get a completely fresh start. If it still doesnt work after that then it is likely some faulty hardware which on a desktop PC is easy enough to fix just by replacing each part until it works but laptops are a pain, most of their components like the CPU, graphics, power supply, sound/network chips are all soldered onto the motherboard so if one of those fries you need to send it off unless you are really really good with a soldering iron and identifying electrical circuits which most of us arent!
-
Do you get the BIOS screen? If not do you hear the BIOS beeps? If you do hear the beeps what do they sound like? Is it one short beep or a series of shorter or longer beeps? If you can tell us the beep codes from the BIOS (assuming the BIOS boots) then we may be able to track down the meaning of the code. But it sounds like either your Mboard/CPU is frazzled or the graphics chip is fried. If the BIOS sounds with one short beep (or whatever it usually gives on a successful boot) then i would put money on the graphics been fried. If there is no BIOS at all i would say the CPU or Mboard. We had the same with a laptop here at work and had to get an engineer in to fix it, a replaced CPU later and the problem was solved. Have you tried removing all the RAM modules and then trying to boot, then replacing just one and trying to boot and if there are more modules trying the other ones, one by one, and seeing if you can get at least BIOS.

Confirmed. You need to either put the correct link in your post or update your dns.Assuming you are in the UK, as you mentioned uk radio stations, why have you registered and linke a .cc domain? Something doesnt add up here.

Does anyone know a free wordpress plugin which can be used as an inventory of asset management system? We are looking for something to put on our intranet wordpress site that we can use to track the software we have in the building and possibly even add tags for the subject/type of software and other details such as the licence keys.I've had a look but all that comes up when i search are e-commerce plugins which are useless. The system is for our eyes only but we still need it to look good and work well.Any ideas?

I would follow their advice to switch servers. Evidently your server has some stability issues. Unless all of the servers are exact copies of each other then some will perform better than others. And even if the software is cloned the user added content makes problems harder to track down. I understand your frustration, i would feel the same way but the fix is there, it is just up to you to take it.If you arent sure how to switch servers add it to your ticket and ask for a guide.

I think he is saying that the software does the opposite. From a PDF document into an excel document, which to me sounds A.) pointless (most of the power of excel comes from cell interactions, formulae, graphs and additional data correlation) and B.) ridiculously lossy in that most of the data in a PDF document is not designed for excel, IE it isnt contained in cells or in the form of numbers and whatever data is contained within a table the converter needs to somehow identify the boundaries of the table with some sort of OCR type software and then read the data within the cells of the table and accurately plot that into Excel.Im not convinced. But then i havent tried it so i could be wrong.

I like it, you could do well here, just keep the content updated all the time and dont forget to insult Jobs and Gates

I wonder if it would be sensible for T17 to impose a rule blocking all users with 5 posts or less (or perhaps 10) from using the PM system?

When they say the density of styrofoam they basically mean that its size to weight ratio is the same as styrofoam. eg if 1 cubic meter of Styrofoam weighs 1kg then if you cut a 1 cubic meter chunk out of this object it would also weigh 1kg. That isnt to say it feels or looks like styrofoam, it could in fact be a gas, solid or liquid or even some sort of plasma.I would imagine it is a failed star that is heated due to its proximty to its parent star and its own nuclear activity. It may just not have a critical mass of certain elements to produce the intense reactions it needs to be recognized as a star, or it may simply not have the right density.

How To Bypass/unblock Websites At Work And At School!
shadowx replied to deadmad7's topic in General Discussion
Proxies are indeed the easiest and most reliable method, however you first need to find a proxy site that isnt blocked which isnt always easy and it doesnt get rid of the logging that takes place so it can easily be seen that you are using a proxy. The only real way to block the logging is to set a proxy IP in the browser settings or disable the logging program if it is installed locally. Not all proxies offer services like webmail login, flash content etc... for free, they make you pay to get that stuff so its not perfect. -
This thread is so, so old... 6 years in fact.being hacked doesnt mean your password got guessed or stolen, it could be anything from SQL injection, a compromised host, XSS attacks, most methods can give access to the website not just a compromised password in which case changing the password is as useful as a "no tools are left in this van overnight" sticker. Yes they are, and we know they are...

in windows i would suggest using the RUN box to type in "\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\FOLDER" with the target computer's IP address. THe folder browser in ubuntu doesnt seem capable of accepting an ip address however so if you know of a way to launch a folder via IP address try that. Remember to disable all security on the windows box. As far as windows is concerned its an attack that needs to be blocked and blocked it will be! If you are wary of doing so (and you should be!) disable the internet connection temporarily and if you are intending to copy from windows > linux then make sure the "allow network users to modify my files" (or similar) box is DISABLED or unchecked so there is very minimal risk of danger. Try the steps here too: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ IT seems win7 will automatically hide itself from the network, presumably by ignore all ICMP packers thus any computer trying to make a connection just hears silence. Follow the steps for winxp and it should work. Double and triple check the security settings on the win7 machine though.

True, but they are better than no security. All computers in the world are vulnerable, the only reason the "secure" ones are said to be so is because the vulnerabilities havent been found yet. Every system has its weakpoints and no security will ever make anything 100% safe. Stupidity is the worst virus of all!

If your AV is centralized then tell it not to auto delete the files then periodically check for the autorun file and then re-enable deletion/quarrantine of infected files.sounds like it is on a usb to me, we have the same thing here, our AV just deletes the file and sends an email to let us know so we dont really have to do anything.
