http://www.zifboards.com/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - The free versions of the IPBs. However the invisionfree domain has only a basic google search function (full forum search capability disabled), but redirect/mask domains to the invisionfree address which is usually s(number).invisionfree.com/forumname. Invisionplus, not much difference to invisionfree, but some differences are that a subdomain is provided and full forum search capability is provided. However the reliability and speed may be questionable at times, but uptime is generally very good.

Your site layout is okay now, although I'd say get rid of the music that goes on in the background!.. definite no no imo.The background (template?) however, I'd suggest playing around with that.

That'll be a lot of cake for all the active members here! (prolly about a third of the 15k? ).. But still it would be interesting for a prize to be given out to members (most likely hosting credits).

Neither do i when it comes to fixed sleep schedule those days, especially as of late.. I dont remember if i replied to this before, but I've been getting inconsistent amounts of sleep those days.. could be 2-3 hours one night, 6 hours the next, 4 after that and so on... Especially on work and study schedules.

Do You Believe In Ghosts? In the Spirit of Halloween.
arnz replied to LeAnn Rimes My Angel's topic in General Discussion
No I dont believe in ghosts although at times watching ghost stories or movies on TV does give me second thoughts... Also being in bed that night after watching the mentioned programs does make me feel I'm being watched -
I tend to agree with the above, stick with the puppy and the puppy will stay loyal to you for a long time. Futhermore, also far less maintenance costs than most other animals.

True, there are some features which can be accesssed easily in explorer when it aint possible on firefox. Another thing, The last time I had a look at hotmail/windows live mail from my messenger account, I had a look at the option of reverting back to hotmail, and there was something about losing space, so i'm guessing there was some more inbox space when testing the beta?
-
When its beta there is bound to be errors, perhaps you were just unlucky on trying to switch back to hotmail. It works okay on Firefox...so far anways.. Overall in both Firefox and IE, windows Live mail works okay, but tis slow at times.
-
Its not as if Hotmail is going to disappear completely, it's hotmail under a different guise. I didnt get Windows Live through a invite, there was already a popup on one of my two hotmail accounts saying upgrade to Windows Live mail. I maybe dont use hotmail that much, but I use one of their accounts for MSN messenger/Trillian reasons. Getting back to the Windows Live interface Out of the interface, it's okay so far but it could do with some work. I think ill stick to gmail for emails.

I'm a bit similar when it comes to shopping..If a good brand of food, or type of food was expensive I wouldnt buy it, however I dont buy the plain brands of their equivalent that much. But, if a brand-label type food, or some type of food was on sale (disregarding the expiry dates etc UNLESS if it was 1-2 days over expiry).. then perhaps I'd buy it.

Halloween And Christians Its origin and, should we celebrate it?
arnz replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
Halloween down here in Australia is almost non-existent. However, it's the same thing as in america, it's a day (or night even) for children and the child at heart to have a good time. Any religion or church doesnt really tell anything against it. It's not as if witches or some sort of craft type thing is being introduced each year or something. -
Making friends would be reasonably easy from my experience, I've moved all over the place (just all over the city in different suburbs) in recent times and most people are usually very welcoming to new people and are pretty open and laid back. As many others said, the hardest part about making friends with the new acquintances is actually getting to know them. Of course, it's easier if you see them everyday, ie at school or at work. It's generally better to branch out to meet other people, since it's pretty easy to get tired of them if they are the only people you see every day. Of course, there are other possibilities to branch out as already mentioned, such as joining sporting clubs, gyms, community groups and so on.

I used to have MSN spaces a long time ago, but as time passes and things going on in life followed by a combination of reliability by MSN to keep their blogs up. I took it down. I'd have to agree that MSN Spaces aint exactly the best blogging tool, in addition their up-time aint really that good either (due to constant MSN profile upgrades and so on).Personally if I was to set up one again when I get the time, I'd go with the above suggestions.

I use both Internet Explorer and Firefox, I've definitely switched from crappy outlook to the more stable Thunderbird for emails (coupled up with AVG). As for the browsers, I still use IE in some cases on sites (ie Java specific or so) but every where else most of the time Firefox is used.

I'll admit I'm a bit stingy when it comes to money those days.. i've moved in and out.. in and out..and in of home, and either way I still got to pay my fair share whether if it's cleaning, bills, and everything to it. At the same having the burden of studying with p/t work, but still It's a challenge with the rising costs of oil (Cars), rates and so on .

1.6 metres.. 70kgs.. and edged over at 25.4... I'll admit i have to lose a few off me though, but sports should make up for it.

Have to agree with the bible bit. I may be catholic, but I'm a non practising catholic and usually only attend church twice a year. Also some religions may have annoying repeat door knocking tactics (ie Jehovah Witnesses).. no offense to them, but no is no.

So that rules Chef making a occasional one-off come back to South Park, unless if its in a main character's dreams... (ie Stan and girl troubles) or something..

To be honest, I dont mind noobs. We were all new once to a particular site, community or chat room, regardless of where it is.What I can not tolerate is that,-People talking in SMS language or 'tYpInG LyK dIs'-Rippers, people that steal content or copy websites and claim it as their own work.-Bandwith Stealing (people using images from the original source's site)... that is stealing the original source's bandwidth. However It's ok if its from a image search engine ie Google, or a image storage site like Photobucket.-Those that continually pick on n00bs.. Yeah there may be some that may deserve it, but so the f%$# what! everyone was new once.

Both are funny in their own ways, but I'd have to say that Jim Carrey does seem to come up with stuff on the spot and does tend to be more suited as a stand-up rather as a movie star. But still, he is still reasonably funny in movies (although thats not always the case imo)Robin Williams, he goes well in movies and being a comedian.

Shared hosting is when the server is configured to be divided to many users on the one server. But unfortunately the user has little say in deciding the space, operating system and the code used (ie PHP). While this may be good for a small personal site, it definitely doesnt suit the larger sites due to limited bandwith constraints. On the other hand dedicated servers does let you have a say in what resources you need to host. As the earlier posters said, it is suited for larger sites, hosting companies and popular communities (ie forums).
-
It really depends on what type of sites that may link to your site, if you have heaps of sites linking to you, but they are all not popular or just either directories in general.. then it would be either a long time or never when the site gets listed on googleAs someone already pointed out, google goes on new content and quality links (as I also gave a brief explanation above). Google and many other search engines go on content and quality rather than "link popularity".However, if you hadnt broken any quote "hidden" rules /quote as someone else said, then there should be no probs in indexing the site to the popular search engines such as google.

I wish ya all the best in your future direction and whatever path you may choose to take, whether if its hosting a site, or something else that may take up your time. I may not know you well, but you are welcome to drop by from time to time.

Google Soon To Step Into Online Word Processing
arnz replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Dunno where you've been for the last few months, but it's been up for a while. It would be interesting had they released it to compete against Micro$oft though lo.
