Can Spy-ware Infect Your Computer? Keep away spy-ware
arnz replied to drk002's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I would suggest installing a anti-spyware/malware program such as Ad-Aware. After installing such a program, I'd suggest updating the database regularly! You'd be suprised at how much crap some of the spyware can cause, ie popup ads, and even some programs go into your registry files, and so forth to change the code (and to make it quite difficult or a pain in the *bottom* to remove) so it shows a advertisement every couple of minutes. -
Without reading the entire thread, there always seems to be motive behind a country's reasoning for going to war. The oil reason/excuse seems to be brought up a lot, but then again theres a fair point about the oil, considering the prices of fuel has been up, and up, and once more.. up.. as of late, and aint likely to be stopping rising anytime soon.

I'll have to say, most chicken dishes, pasta, spaghetti, and mince and potato. Also I dont stir fry with teriyaki sauce (or most other sauces). But the dishes taste better when I cook them myself.

Ps3's Price Tag! Will it drive customers away?
arnz replied to dundun2007's topic in Computer Gaming
I tend to be more of a PC person rather than a console person. But I agree sony are pushing it in price. If I was a console person and/or a person that played the playstation regularly (any or all of the models). I'd probably be one of many waiting for the price drops. -
I never really had any major problems using any of google's sites. Although on the gmail font, there has been occasions where a few refreshes will get the inbox up.

Although I may have been in a similar situation (Although not as exact as that), I'm thinking it might be something to do with your network connection, but then again, it was a change in the settings (IPs) for me that made it work fully without the (dc & rc) probs.

http://www.9news.com.au/ All I can say to the above article is that If we continue to either idealize or assume that society is individualistic, then we are going to see this kind of abusive behaviour ignored. Mandatory reporting should be legislated in every state and territory and much much more funding implemented into child protection programs. Also, some offenders shouldn't be able to breed.. but thats just my thoughts.

Disproving Mormonism A few facts that disprove the mormon faith
arnz replied to Prox's topic in General Discussion
I'm also a catholic, although non practising, and to be honest I dont know much about the mormons. But i'll have to agree that the argument is compelling in parts but not knowing much, I cant really say whether if I agree or not. -
Which Brand Name Do You Think Sells Better
arnz replied to Shortyfly17's topic in General Discussion
The skater brands such as Etnies, VANs, etc are getting up there and are pretty popular in the mainstream. Although of all time where I live.. considering down under also has a lot surfing destinations.. I'd have to say Nike, Converse and maybe the surf brands such as Billabong, Quicksilver, and so forth. -
Mainly as presents, although I tend to give real money out instead... or use the cards when on the odd occasion, returning something to the store.

I'm sure there has been discussions in the past about trucks, buses, etc causing problems on our roads (and to a lesser extent railways), so I'll start another one. There has been a case while travelling on the freeway just recently when a truck seemed to be driving fast and was taking up half of 2 lanes. The driver had some choices, either slam into the truck, or someone smash right behind em, or either go on the island/divider. I believe in the case, the driver of the car hit the island before travelling on, with the truckie just driving on either unaware or oblivious to the siutation. I dont know if this happens elsewhere, but often where I am due to a struggling (and continually upgrading) road network on my side, half the lanes on the major roads are taken up by trucks, another lane in particular areas are allocated to BUSES only and does make peak-hr traffic slower than it is now.Has anyone been in a situation with a heavy vehicle (trucks, buses, etc) driver?

What Do You Guys Think About People Who Sleep Around ?
arnz replied to LocalSeer's topic in General Discussion
IMO, its okay to flirt with many if she's single. But to sleep with a different person could be asking for trouble (regardless if what gender you are). As many others said, consider the effects of sex related diseases such as STD, AIDs, and so forth. Pregnancy is also another issue in the females case. -
I've noticed that on some boards, that Google comes up under the "users" browsing bars when it comes to viewing some Invision powered forums.

Not reading the whole thread, but getting straight to the point. I'd have to say Spaghetti, Stir Fry, and Pasta (most types).. Also that I can cook a few dishes helps too (the dishes also includes 2-minute noodles along the likes of stir fry, etc).

I dont use Yahoo that much, but nonetheless, I cant wait till all the messys are integrated in a similar way to trillian.
-
I'd say that mess.be and Messenger Plus is a good combination for extra add-ons to MSN Messenger. But like someone earlier said, dont install the third-party software when you are installing Messenger Plus.Other from that, Messenger Plus should be a handy add-on for your messenger.

News Article Just recently, in the outlying town of Toowoomba, the residents there have recently rejected a plan to drink recycled sewerage water, although our state premier is planning a referendum over the issue. Theres an interesting debate here whether to purify recycled sewerage water to make it drinkable, personally though I'm against it because of concerns about the water quality, and the potential problems if the water isnt purified properly to make it drinkable.

Interesting, considering a long time ago Yahoo was using's google's search technology before Google eventually decided to go it alone. Although Yahoo's search aint bad, the junk around it pretty much tells me to stick to google.

Should We Be In Iraq? what do you think about the war in Iraq
arnz replied to @mberlust's topic in General Discussion
Straight answer, no. Like many others, I felt that there was no Weapons of Mass destruction, and that the involved parties were there for another reason, which was oil.I'll agree to an extent that Hussein's treatment of people is really bad, but still I felt that the coalition involved still intruded in. But to be honest, I havent followed it that much though but have seen the clips regularly on news programs. -
'stumbleupon' Firefox Addon - The Future Of The Internet
arnz replied to Mjay06's topic in General Discussion
I dont know if theres a topic on this sometime back, some may say there was. But using this sometime back, it is indeed addictive, but like many addictive programs/games, many get bored (mind you I did as well) with it and get rid of it. It's fun though, but I'll wont be using it for a while unless if i'm really really bored or something. -
Yes I got MSN, but only 7.5 with messy plus. I'm waiting till the later versions of the newer MSN is out. I've heard of many problems with the current versions of the release, (I've also installed it briefly, then uninstalled it) but then again its expected when it really is in their BETA stages.

I remember back in my days of primary school & high school, when stuff at "tuckshop" as many of us students called it were pretty cheap. What did everyone else use to buy at the cafeteria?I may not have used the tuckshop regularly but when I did i use to buy.-small bag of frogs - 5c in a bag-100s and thousands (chocolates with sprinkles) - 10c HUGE bag.-Frozen fruit - 5c for a frozen fruit (lollie that is, not the actual fruit lol).-Licksticks - 30cents - ice block sticks that came in many flavours.-Drinks $1-Sausage Rolls/Pies $2 Those days were cheap, but due to natural CPI increases, etc.. they dont have things like that and/or arent cheap anymore

I may not live in the area, but like everywhere else around the world. Pretty much affected by the event. Thus IMO, I think it is a bit early to make a movie about it when there is still quite a bit of uncertainty in the world, and there are still some people willing to commit acts of terrorism and so forth. But unfortunately, the hollywood studios and so forth will only see $$$ in the eyes. But hopefully there are a few higher-ups working within the studios able to see common sense. Personally though, I think they should at least delay it if they intend on a cinema release, although I would prefer it if they didn't go around advertise the whole thing everywhere.. especially in areas most affected by the events on that fateful day.

Good luck with your studies mate. I'm in university, and indeed it is a challenge to get some time to post here those days. I'm normally post late at night around midnight or just before it (Australian Eastern Time). Hope to see ya back here as an active member sooner.
