  1. Currently the age to apply for learners down here is 16.5, with the Provisionals at 17. Then after that, you'll need to hold your provisionals for 3 years before applying for the full open license at 20. So fairly much, you'll need to hold on your l's for a minimum of 6 months and Ps for a minimum of 3 years before applying for the opens. I'd say I keep it as is, they are some notable restrictions when a driver is on their Ls or Ps. With the most noted ones being is that both the L and P drivers are not able to drink at all (no tolerance limit), and that they only receive 4 points as opposed to 12 points when it comes to demerit points. So which means if they really speed or do other similar road offences, and the penalty is 5 points.. then the L or P driver loses their learners or Ps.
  2. Wouldnt suprise me if regular posters @ youtube had "fake" versions of it put up before the actual hanging of Hussein.
  3. Hyper colour t-shirts: blow onto it and it changes colours, also remember the jokes about it.. ie hypercolour underpants, etc.Sega Mega Drive (Genesis). Top games out of that, the sonic generation, columns (LOL), Jurassic Park, etc.Its a knockout/Double Dare: Old nickolodeon kids TV shows which involved a lot of interesting challenges. The later involved a lot of slime throwing. Also the tune for its a knockout was pretty catchy (it's a knockout.. thats the name of the game..)Blocks: Preschool days.. remember trying to make the TALLEST building out of the lot and having to stick a "DO NOT KNOCK DOWN" sign on it during lessons and so forth.. quite fun and hilarious at times.Legos: That too, made interesting buildings, figures, etc, tallest whatever on it. Wreck it later and start again on whatever comes up on my mind at the time.Full Frontal: Late primary school/early high school days. Australian sketch comedy which took the piss out of many tv shows and even had their own style shows. Many similar shows were put on after, but nothing beats full frontal (and to some extent the predecesser Fast Forward).Power Rangers: Lame in some sort of ways now, especially with monsters falling before the weapon hits them, robots and monsters crashing into cardboard skyscrapers and all. But it wasnt that bad to watch back then when growing up. (over 14 odd years ago).
  4. While the capacity may be big, I cant see myself using all of it nor many people running to sign up for it. Although I suspect some people may use solely for storage space. Since I switched to gmail i had no probs with it, and about 2 gig seems enough (although I used only about 120meg of my g-mail space).
  5. Would've been a reasonable punishment imo. Just stamp his card "NEVER to be released", considering jails in the middle east wouldnt be any paradise at all.
  6. LOL @ Rap at Poetry. Yes it does seem that some rap songs are really poetry just read really fast "likethisyobrother". I dont mind poetry in general, but then again I dont read poetry that much either.
  7. Down here they dont take PC games anymore, however they mostly trade games for another. Then again it depends on how much the games cost.. for example if you tried to trade a $30 game, you may only get a game costing around 20-30 in return. The tradeback depends on the condition of the game disc, etc.
  8. While i'm sitting on the fence in regards to the death penalty. He's probably one of the few exceptions I wouldnt mind to see go through this method. But as others said sometimes innocent people die through this method, but in this case.. Hussein is obviously guilty, considering what he did over time during his rule of Iraq is unforgivable.
  9. I dont mind either, although I'd prefer rock over rap as rap seems to be at times, just a person or a bunch of people talking "reallyfastlikethisheyyobrother" and the "yo like names like diddy and so forth". But with rock songs, some songs seem to make a meaning out of true things, like the post above which made an example of green day. Frenzal Rhomb in Australia is also another example, which seems to sing songs against particular views (ie pop music).
  10. Some other sports use the word "Football" although much of the time hands and kicking are used, Rugby Football and Australian football being other obvious examples.
  11. Most ads that appear on another site are usually handled by third parties. The most popular atm would be the Google ad-sense. But as for Xisto, the earlier posts above pretty much have it covered by who does the advertising for Xisto (going by the dedicated link).
  12. Be interesting to see how that goes. Although starting it that late down under may eventually have a debate over the use of power, etc etc.. Interestingly enough, Western Aust is considering trialling DST in December - April IIRC for 3 years.
  13. Being Australian myself, and having visited the East Coast of USA a couple of times (San Diego, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, etc), the only similarities I find between the countries is that we both speak the same language (English), although even that there are slight differences (ie the Metric System as an obvious example!) The two countries are half way around the world of each other, but even the fast foods and so forth isnt as much as those in the states.. but with the smaller population down under, that is expected. Also the menus of the known fast food franchises such as McDs, Burger King (aka Hungry Jacks: over here), and so forth have slightly different menus (ie Salads Plus & no super size meals). However its gonna be interesting now that an aussie icon in the form of vegemite is apparently banned in the states. However, there are those (esp ex-pat Aussies in the states) which are bound to still eat it!
  14. Where I am in Aust, we are divided over the DST issue that some states doesnt adopt Daylight savings. In my case, the state where i from (Queensland) is one of the few that doesnt adopt DST.
  15. Rugby may be reasonably big world-wide, but is only in "development" stage in the US of A, Canada, and various other developing countries. The major strongholds would have to be NZ, Australia, Great Britain, France and South Africa from memory, with the other nations at least capable of upset every now and again.
  16. Far too steep. But considering the parties are millionaires, then why not get a chance lol. It'll be interesting if this goes ahead at all considering the many proposals and going on about standard civillians travelling in the space.
  17. Somewhat Hilarious being a aussie, but some may be worried about the stereotype many of the americans stow on us.. (ie Kangaroos, the late Irwin and so forth).Personally I dont worry about those that stereotype us though. Although on occasions I find some of those questions funny "example: do you have a kangaroo for a pet?"
  18. Democracy is good according to many influential people, but at times personally I have never felt like I am in a democracy. What are my options? A Coalition government that can be anti-labour one day, and then look like they may pro-labour stance the next. The federal Labour party that seem to be in the middle, but have they got a clear policy!?! Oh and the slow but gradual decline of the democrat influence in the senate which apparently was meant "to keep the *BLEEP*s honest".I fall somewhere between middle class and lower class, also am a p/t uni student and get hit for everything. But the myths of being better off when getting a government job is true in some cases, false in others. But still personally I would be better off if I was lucky to score a gov based job, high income, less worries about bills, many free stuff (ie gym, some food, etc). It seems that middle class pays at least equal (if not more) tax at the same level of those in the higher income brackets. There are also issues ie health, water supply in some areas , but those who foot the bill seem to come from the middle class..
  19. Pretty sure I read this on a topic somewhere, but it acts like a internet USB drive, which is too similar to a ftp server if not the same. But then again there have been other types of dedicated storage sites in the past, and also particular popular picture/video ones such as photobucket and so forth
  20. Probably have had them a few times, but my overall opinion on deja vu would have to bordering on fence sitting to slight believe.I'd have to say that view of dieing, then being re-born to your life over again to play your life out again is a very interesting view point. Since if you can vaguely remember what was done last time, no doubt you'd be doing whatevers possible to make it better/right/correct/improve on the next time from when a situation last occurs.
  21. TheKlubHouseII Chat Community @ MSN Groups, and The Colosseum Australian sports forums (through InvisionFree) as I am a chat host at Klubhouse and a Forum moderator on the ColosseumBoth may have their funny moments, low moments and have their share of childish members but overall, I'd have to say despite both being active is that most know everyone and the communities are very close.
  22. What the bible says is probably true, but then again I'm a non-practising catholic that only attends church twice a year (at Easter and at Christmas). But still I dont tend to get myself in those type of belief/reality type debates. But still, reality/beliefs in other subjects are questionable and are taken/considered as it eventuates.
  23. Born in Australia, with filipino blood into me, as both by parents were from different parts of the philippines. Yet I have relatives all over parts of Asia, and the USA/Canada. So at least that way I save on accom costs in the case of hols
  24. I would suggest a uninstall of the flash player, then re-install it again. Make sure you have the latest flash player on you before re-installing.
  25. Sorta like animals that may come out for particular seasons... they dont come out untill a particular season arrives. Same may apply for myths or kids such as snowman only coming out in winter, or a similar fictional kids story about a "snowman" son
