i have xampp on my jump drive, its like perl, cgi, openssl, apache, mysql, php, filezilla and mercury mail and a few other things in one. for editing i use notepad and notepad++ i finished learning css a while ago, and ive started TRYING to learn php. also i tried learning javascript a while ago but i rather php, i need php more for my site than javascript. by the way, you dont have to use invision power board, there are alot of free ones out there, i recomend AEF, a good site for a heap of free open source cms's forums stuff like that is Open Source CMS, it has online demos where you can try them out.

your status signature (what this is all for) still has bugs. it isnt showing the right group badge, ive got my badge set at favourite but it shows another groups badge that im in. so thats something you might wanna fix. although thats your first time with the group badge thing so yeah i spose its ok, i couldnt do anything like that.

hmmm... my Xisto forum account is found in a dictionary im pretty sure but i cant count on my cpanel password being found in a dictionary.i do have one password i only use for one site because i dont want to get hacked, it would NEVER be in a dictionary since i made it up and its the most secure password ive ever had, lol

exactlyjust download the live versions of a heap and if you like one then download the installable one. or you could have chosen one that is a live but installable linux distro.but most linux software is open source i think, i can only think of a few commercial programs for linux. you wont probably get software as good as windows software.

openSUSE wont install on my computer, neither will any distro besides kubuntu and centos, ive tried like hundreds (installing them) and NONE of them work except those 2. i have no idea wots wrong with my computer. its either the cpu or my old hard drive (the one i have linux on) still has a virus in the boot sector (it used to be my main hard drive until i got that, now windows wont even install on it)i like suse, i have a friend who has it, he doesnt use it anymore because both me and him have lost interest in linux but ever since last night when i found vector linux i started liking it again. im yet to install vector linux, i burnt it to a cd but havent had a chance to try installing it.yeah so suse is a nice distro, one of the big ones like fedora (i also like fedora)

it really depends, did u still want something windows like? if so, then either anything and get the XPDE desktop environment or... i founf a distro that is alot like windows, aLinux but i personally wouldnt want anything like windows. the new ubuntu looks nice. though if you want something packed and big then either SUSE/SLED or fedora.

linux wont detect my printer either (canon image class mpc190), it can detect like every canon except for the multiclass range, its really annoying

oh, well im about to burn it to a cd anyways, ill try it, if i dont like it then ill probably download all the fedora or open suse disks.

its downloading!looks good, should be done in a couple of hours, im downloading the SOHO edition.once/if its installed ill write a little review! i just love the graphics of the distro mainly! its really nice!

well last year i was downloading vector linux and gave up on it cos i only had dial-up. but i remembered about it a while ago and the new version looks so cool! i wanted to know if anyone out there has used it before and tell me what its like! i might download it tomorrow. ill probably get the SOHO (small office/home office) edition, it has a better design! they are currently in version 5.8. so basically, anyone used it before? whats your opinion and should i try and install it on my old hard drive and get rid of centOS? my old hard drive is picky, all i can get to install is centos and kubuntu, thats why i got a new one, not even windows will install on it since i got a virus in the boot sector (i formatted the drive at least 10 times) the site for vector linux is... http://www.vectorlinux.com/. i think it looks really nice, and i havent used linux for ages!

ubuntu wont even load at all for me from the start.something wrong with soemthing which i forgot. cpu or somethingkubuntu works though, which is good cos i like kde and i hate gnome. i had kubuntu isntalled before i got centOS installed. kubuntu doesnt come with much so ubuntu probably doesnt either and thats probably why you posted aboutt hat, LOL

once it loads ill see if my favourite open source program ever is on there! nup, doesnt have it on there. so as number 1 best open source program ever is... Paint.NET!!! it replaced photoshop for me! i havent used photoshop for months, paint.net is way better and free. although you do need the microsoft .net framework to use it. i have quite a few programs that were in that list.

is it like adobes actual fault or just a plain thing with PDF's?ive always liked PDF's for everything, if im reading something big on the internet i always look for a PDF first.although since ive been using them like ever since i got my first computer, i dont think ill stop using them, they havent done anything before, i dont think, lol!
