All you have to do is read the hundreds of threads and posts complimenting the team for their great effort and work load put into this business. What do you expect from a free host (no offence OpaQue and crew), but we aren't exactly going to get blood for it. I think you need to rethink before slagging anyone off. I couldn't agree more. If you had taken the TIME to read the posts concerning the hosting shift, you would have realised that XISTO, has a lot on their plates, and as OpaQue has just qualified that, I think it goes to show that you need to research before you preach. The remainder of your post is more requests over complaints. In future, I put this to everyone before they make a complaint. USE THE SEARCH FEATURE.

What he said lol. I've translated it with the help of worldlingo, but that came out a little wrong (sniggers) and so, I had to revert to the mystical powers of my brain...ok so not that mystical.

Is It Worth It To Get Gmail ? Is Gmail Good?
twitch replied to wazzupster0204's topic in Search Engines
A lot of my friends at school are bound to Hotmail with glue because of "I can't be bothered" trend. I really pisses me off, as it doesn't take five minutes to set a new GMail account. There are also other problems that have arrised, through my time of searching for the latest on GMail, there are one or two sites slagging the service, and making something out of nothing. Especially http://www.gmail-is-too-creepy.com/ they come up with some *BLEEP*. I personally think that the site I just listed was set up by a rival company (aka Microsoft) to try and redicule Google. Which in my eyes is very pathetic. -
Good to meet you Michael, my name is also <drumroll> Michael </drumroll>.Your stay will be very welcomed.

In college there are many computer courses, which can all lead onto higher education, where you can go for more specialised courses. -
I Lost Mysql Databases And Privileges!?
twitch replied to soleimanian's topic in Web Hosting Support
You shouldn't loose too many visitors. Your site should be fine now. If it isn't either contact m^e, OpaQue or support@xisto.com -
Would you say Microsoft is a desperate bunch of software? No, you wouldn't, so why should it be any different for any other application or business. In the world, businesses and organisations thrive on growth and expansion. By conquering as many areas as possible, they open themselves up to a larger market, therefore bringing more income. From the start of Google, it was clear that this was going to be a business that would expand to new limits. In a sense, every business/organisation is desperate, in the fact that they need customers to stay active, then to grow.As I have almost completed my GCSE on Business and Communication Systems (BCS) at school, I have learnt a lot about businesses, and so much so that I would say, put in the position of Google, I would do exactly the same. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and if you are the one with all the ideas, then you are the leader of the pack.

Lol. In fact, there are hundreds of programs. If you want something cheap and cheerful (well freeware) then you could always try Anim8or. It works mostly with blocks and has a much leaner learning curve than the likes of Blender. However, only use Anim8or if you don't want textures and arrays of colours on your models. Then, you could get into some mess. As for clickable parts, I think some other 3D animation software covers this, but unfortunately I do not know exactly which ones - hence the use of Flash.

To be honest, I find this a little irrelevant to anyone on this forum. However, information is power. And the Mini, I thought it was a car as well, but instead it is some kind of Google Hardware. What industry haven't they taken on. WARNING: Google, touch the spork industry and your search enging is minelol.

I suppose it would be pronounced ALTSIR, but that is just a guess, and if I walking in the wrong-direction, then tell me now, but ALTSR is not his name.

The problem with Internet Explorer, like most Microsoft Products, is that it seems to guess what is meant to be shown. That means that the worse web-designers/developers can make a back-end crap site and it still look good on the front-end. Whereas the decent browsers like Mozilla Firefox, do exactly what it says on the tin (or source code as it may be). This, is why standards were set, to ensure the better browsers were maintained for.Anyway, onto the problem.I think the problem you have run into is the box-model. IE and a few other browsers including Opera have difficulties in displaying this model properly, whereas Mozilla does not. Although this may sound totally wrong - it isn't if you think about it logically. Linking back to what I said in the beginning of this post, IE and a few others 'guess' what it should look like, therefore when developers preview their sites in IE, they see that it looks right and don't bother with the others. Now, this is where the real problem lies. Mozilla shows things as they are formatted, so if it is formatted wrongly, it will show it exactly how it is. And this is the way browsers should behave, to enforce usability and compatibility on developers, an accompanying push with XHTML/XML. Anyway, your problem is the box-model system. It has been developed inaccurately, and without the source-code (as pointed out in other posts) there is nothing we can do about it.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It allows for easy transfer of files between a user and a host. FTP accounts are on the host and are accessible from any machine that is connected to the Internet and has the feature allowed. There are many FTP clients out there that claim to be better and faster. They often are. Personally, I find the use of cP (control Panel) file manager the best to use, but FTP clients like SmartFTP are better for people that have very large files uploading to multiple accounts. They often have a built in accelerator to use all the channels of the modem.Internet Explorer does have its own FTP client, although it has been for me, very slow and buggy, often logging me out after 15-minutes, which isn't good when you have a slow upload and a big file. If you are familiar with MS-DOS command lines, then you can use CMD to access FTP through that.

I Lost Mysql Databases And Privileges!?
twitch replied to soleimanian's topic in Web Hosting Support
We can't personally repair most of the things, as we don't have server access, to install them/ repair them. Just because Asta is up, doesn't mean that the servers have been shifted completely, I believe we will recieve an e-mail when the process is complete. If you haven't noticed, Fantastico isn't there at the moment (for me anyway), so that should tell you straight away that it hasn't been completed. If your database has been dumped and deleted, then I don't think that they can restore it. HOWEVER, if it has just been lost, wait until the shift is complete and then follow up this topic. -
You are right in that there is a line where one's thoughts are no longer deemed "freedom of speech", as it can become very offensive to others. However, if I were a homosexual, then I would find the avatar not offensive but hilarious that some people have such small minds - that is my view, but obviously everyone has differences of opinions. As for the language of the previous replies, I got the wrong end of the stick on that one - I thought I saw something very vile against Elvellon - but apparently not.Prejudice comes in all shapes and sizes. Everyone, at some point is prejudice against another person because of their creed, colour and even takes on life. For example, this may not sound morally right, but millions of people were prejudice against the Natzis. I am personally prejudice against them, because in their eyes - they are trying to make the world a better place. Obviously they are going about it in the way that we find wrong, but being against them is being prejudice. So, one can not "stand here as the prejudice one" as we are all prejudice. Finally, as for the topic starter, I think he/she may return. Depending on how badly they want a free webhost - or it may have found Xisto.net

Warbird, use a tryout of Photoshop CS2. Or, you could try GIMP.I am contemplating on designing something, but with four projects already under my belt, I'm gonna have to deny this one. Such a shame that my <caugh>crap</caugh> wont go to use.Anyway, I suggest that you leave it to the community to decide which one they would like to see, perhaps a poll.

It should work. I'll try messing with my PHPBB in a bit and get back to you, there may be some part that you missed out, but I don't know at this moment.

Two Of My Latest Sigs ebbinger_413
twitch replied to ebbinger_413's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I really like the My chemical Romance now. The blood splatter is awesome, you'll have to share that technique with us sometime.I actually prefer you original (second) AudioSlave signature. It looked a little more fluent than the light counter part.If you need or want any help on making signatures, then I suggest you check out the design forums of Xisto, they are very talented there (especially Saint_Michael, who makes appearences here). -

The brightness is a little too much, and the sea is way off even looking right. If I was on dope, then I would say it looked like that, but I aint.I think you need to work at it, although your sun is looking fairly good. -
I Lost Mysql Databases And Privileges!?
twitch replied to soleimanian's topic in Web Hosting Support
If you had taken the time to check vudjsa's topic and the e-mail that was issued to the account you signed-up with, you would see that the servers are being shifted to California. You need to give them a few more days before reporting any critical errors with your site. The DNS system is being propagated and will require time. IF you did not get the e-mail then: -
The First :-) Ever Thread Where It Was Invented.
twitch replied to darkranger's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Laught out Loud (LOL) has been out for many years, and like most things, I don't think anyone can claim sole response, after all, it wasn't just one person that developed the languages we know today, it was a collection of people. -
On my other machine, I only have 196Mb of RAM (SD), and coupled with RAM Def XT, I have very little problems (apart from the fact it can chug along a little under the heavy stress of using bitmaps in Fireworks :shudder: ). How much memory is too much then? Afterall, if you have 8Gb memory (the max on a G5), will you ever need it - or will it simply be too much for the system to handle?

My Comparason Of Freebsd - Gentoo. from a gentoo perspective
twitch replied to qwijibow's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The horny little devil of FreeBSD is also annoying.I think in time, your problems with the network/sound card problems will be fixed (as long as the ones developing know about the errors).Personally, I have been pushed away from Linux because of compatibility issues with my unfortunately favourite programs and also the problems I had at school with Mandrake Linux ;)On the whole interesting post, often power is over-taken by usability and function. -
Don't forget to close your tags , and welcome to asta. I have my own poem. I call it "I didn't know it". I was a poet And I didn't know it. Ha, see what I did? I'm pure genious. There should be a copyright bbcode M^E, oh M^e, can you make a bbcode for copyright? And you are right in presuming Xisto rocks - because it does. If you find at any time that asta is too "professional", then try out the sister site, http://forums.xisto.com/ or if you want quality hosting without the forum posting (another rhyme - COPYRIGHT - steal it and I will knock you knee-caps off ), then try the other sister site: http://www.trap17.net/ Anyway, glad to meet you and look forward to your contribution.
