  1. By the way, I fixed a small typo error in the topic title (now it's "for" Xisto )RegardsYordan
  2. The real problem is that you need an artist.Making a drawing nice is a matter of art, and only an artist has the feeling in order to correctly do this. You have to find an artist and ask him to create something for you.Feeling the colors and the shape effects if the really important part. The software is then only a detail.
  3. Hi, Catnattync, welcome aboard. Please, can you be more precise? Can you tell what you mean when you mention helping you "toward the themes"?RegardsYordan
  4. OK, To be honest, I forgot this feature, seems that my chmod trick does not work on Ubuntu on a mounted filesystem. Now, let's proceed the following way. Just make a backup of your fstab file, and then try what the link you mention suggests : In your case it would be : /dev/sda5 /home/manu/Others/Dat1 vfat defaults,user,dmask=000,fmask=111 0 0 After modifying /etc/fsab, just type "umount /home/manu/Others/Dat1; mount /home/manu/Others/Dat1" in order to test the new set of permissions. If this works correctly, go back to the less permissive set dmask=027,fmask=137 Regards Yordan
  5. Precisely : If you do exactly what I am saying, the drives will be writable by everybody : Simply, as root, type the following : chmod -R ugo+rwx /home/manu/Others/This is just for testing purposes, do this and tell us if the disks become writeable by everybody. If it works, we will do a more clever setting. Regards Yordan
  6. OK, next, try the following : chmod -R ugo+rwx /home/manu/Others/ and tell us if it changes something.
  7. also please tell us the "mount" options in /etc/fstab.or just type "mount" in a unix shell window.Probably your fat32 partition is mounted as read-only!
  8. Also, at the right side of that upper part, near "My Controls" is "My Assistant", where you can click "my last 10 posts", which is probably the fastest path to where you usually want to go.
  9. Nice tuto, very useful.Of course, a guy who really wants to steal a picture can still crop it in order to remove the sig. However, after doing that, this guy cannot say that he did not know that the picture was copyrighted!
  10. You first posted this topic in a "tutorial" section. This topic is not a tutorial, it looks more like a request for help. That's why I moved it here, where it's place most probably is.RegardsYordan
  11. Hi, stiflerx, welcome aboard.I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us.When I first read your description, I thought that you were a bike fan as a nature motorless fan. Then I saw the word "Choppers", with means that your bike has a motor! ;)which means that Nature lovers will not love the sport you love!
  12. It's on the left vertical toolbar, under the "Community" title.
  13. Thanks. I fixed the mistyping in the topic starter post.
  14. what does the "online" part of the name mean? Do you edit your page on a remote computer, and then get it back on your own computer in order to put it on your website?
  15. On each PC you can add a phone modem adapter which allows you to send and receive faxes, and handle them with any software you want, so you can send the files via email. Also, most of professional printer/fax machines (like the Xerox ones) are able to send/receive/manage faxes.
  16. That's different. If people want to claim things concerning their private life, then Google helps them claiming. In that case Google is helpful. They don't steal your private information, they help you shouting what you want to claim.
  17. I would say that they know everything about what you are searching using google. If you don't search, or if you don't use google, they don't know anything. Suppose that you go surf on a single website - let's say Xisto.com - and you only use a POP3 mailer, they will know nothing concerning your private life.

Hi, Urbano, welcome aboard.I hope that you will appreciate posting here.RegardsYordan
  19. Seems that not a lot of people are interested in MMORPG or not interested by Lucent Heart.Such is life.
  20. You need to have a kind of confinement in order to keep the energy beam in a limited area in space. So, if two kind of this weapons are shocking one against the other one, the confinement media will stop the opponent beam, so this kind of weapon will behave during shocks exactly like the old swords behaved some hundreds of years ago.Of course, we still have to find how to create this confinement area and make it stable over a reasonable period of time, but his is the standard detail forgotten in each science-fiction tale.
  21. Why do you say that? Most of desktop computers are usually faster than most of laptops. Of course an old desktop is slower than a modern laptop, but usually laptops are faster.
  22. Astahost is a forum for technical information.Marketing informations can be felt as important, but they have no place in a technical section.I can show my girlfriend's picture or someone else picture in the Welcome section, but not in a technical section.Same thing with some topics, which are welcome in the "Jokes and Humour" subforum, not in the technical subforums.I have to go to the dentist this afternoon, this is very important for a lot of people and everybody has to know this ; however, this info should not be in the "system tools and utilities" section of this forum.
  23. cpx advertising has bad comments on the web, maybe you should look at something different.
  24. On which operating system does this thing have to work ? Il it on a local windows PC ?And is the excel format a must? Or can it be comma-separated records in a "csv" file ?
  25. Really with nettles? Isn't there an urticant effect when doing that? Or do you expect that the urtica effect disappears with hot water? At least at the beginning, do not touch this with your bare hands, and keep it off your face. Last time I fell down on a couple of nettle plant, I felt it really disagreeable.
