  1. I had this problem on another site, I deleted one half of my files, and I was still exceeding my quotas, even after several monthes. So, sometimes, when you remove files, they don't disappear from your quota.I don't know if Xisto has this problem, because I never exceeded my space quota yet.
  2. It's the same thing with your web access, people using a trainer like "loadrunner" will be able to query your database site until it crashes.
  3. I agree, it does not really matter. However, it seems to be the main subject of the present topic. Personnally, I think a domain name like something.be.tk or something.astahost.com are rather equivalent.
  4. Precisely, here is the problem. mxweb has no money for that. Else he probably would buy a ready-made fully professional cpanel.
  5. a (dot)Be domain name is interesting if you are in Belgium, isn't it ? Else, no interest ? Or did I miss something ?
  6. strangely enough, I prefer the first one.
  7. OK, I gave the "download" link, this link does not seem to ask for your bluecard number. Anyway, I think paying for a working environment is cheaper than spending a lot of time developping your own.
  8. If you have only one or two disks, SCSI or IDE are not very different, so no real problem having the scratch disk on the same drive you already have. Nevertheless, having a second drive could help, but probably not more than 10% improvement.By the way, if you are using M$oft Windows, no need to have more than 1gig Memory, you wil probably not take fully benefit of more than the first 200 Megs RAM. Of course, if you switch to Linux, things could be different, but then you would not be able to use Photoshop...RegardsYordan

    Hello

    Merr Christmas, Marisol.
  10. We can imagine a lot of ways of making an offline forum. For instance, sending mails and receiving the answers. So, first of all, we must see what PureHeart means by offline forum.
  11. What about simply downloading cpanel ? I would try here first : http://cpanel.com/404/ Regards Yordan
  12. what kind of statistics are empty ? On my cpanel I have lots and lots of statistics, for instance thousands of pages visited in november and december, here below is a screenshot of the type of statistics I have on my cpanel : Which statistics are empty in your cpanel ? Yordan
  13. I am not an admin at Xisto, and I am able to do the backups.Maybe the place where to click is not very obvious. Here is a screeenshot to help you seeing where you have to click in order to perform the backup. it's a screenshot from a submenu of my own cpanel at Xisto, yours should look very similarly. Hope this helped Yordan
  14. I confirm, on Xisto I use cpanel to backup my databases. So, if abandongamez is hosted the same way as I am, it should work the same way for him.
  15. As far as I remember, you don't directly use a punch card computer. You punch the card on a card puncher. then you create a batch card set. then you read this card set in a card reader, which is connected to a computer.
  16. All posts are counted, provided that they are interesting. Just try not to spam, posting for nothing.A reply to a topic is worth as an original post. Especially if your reply helps the guy who wrote the topic.By the way, welcome aboard.RegardsYordan
  17. Maybe you are looking at the "unique visitor" counter. Then, all the people from your university will be coming from the same IP address (your proxy address), and all of them will count as a single one.
  18. For a while, yes, but only starting from Windows 2000. This was not available under Win98SE and under Windows Millenium Edition.Regards Yordan
  19. Unfortunately, the "my pictures" screensave is not always available. it's not on Win98SE. But it's on win2k.
  20. Really X25 over TCP/IP ? I was familiar with TCP/IP over X25, really surprised with the opposite one.
  21. I love paper. From some of my stupid collegues, I only use paper for communicating. Because there is (almost) no harmful virus on paper. Which is not the case of any computer-related way of communicating. I even have seen viruses in digital camera memory cards. And, by the way, during winter general electric power failures, you can still read your paper-written news.
  22. This was an old problem, with DivX 3. This problem disappeared with DivX 4 and DivX 5.Yordan
  23. I see that, at school, students have to write code. And they have to comment their codes. So, I see the guys, they write down their program, they test it, and then they comment it before submitting the code to the teacher. So, getting used with comments is very important.
  24. I had problems with OpenOffice reading a complicated Microsoft Word document, that's why I suggest using the viewer for reading other people's doucuments, and using OpenOffice for creating your own documents.RegardsYordan
