Simply post interesting texts, several lines long, written in decent English, and that's it.for instance, open a topic saying why you want ImageMagic. Till now I was able to do without it.

There are already several posts about this subject.The main problem with the free web hosting companies is how long they will last and how secured their service is.Websites sustained by post-for-hosting companies like Xisto or Xisto last since a very long time, with a very low downtime.Free websites with a small bottom-line add, like our sister site qupis.com also show a very professional service without downtime.A lot of competitors have problems due to the lack of revenue, and user sites suffer downtimes or simply disappear.Personally I prefer I prefer the Xisto system, where the ads invisible to our members generate enough revenue for paying a very professional hosting for which standard users have to give real money.

I had viruses detected by McAfee and not by Norton, so, sometimes, even a paid antivirus program can fail. Avast seems very interesting, and it's look-and-feel is agreeable.

Please, when you post copied text, put THE WHOLE TEXT between quote tags. And please do not forget to mention where the text is copied from. I guess that your post has been copied from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, but it probably already exists in many other places. By the way, in these kind of topics, we are interested by your own experience. We are not at all interested by texts already published somewhere else. So, please, be careful, your posts will probably be removed, and too spammy posts would lead to a ban.

Simply say "I copied this from http://www.blahblah.com/;, and nothingelse, that's true and is not against our TOS.

If you quote it and if you mention where it's copied from, no problem. However, this particular post has no interest because it exists on a lot of sites over the internet, and has already been reported as a spam.

I agree. With a ftp client like FileZilla, if your site is only made of html or php files, simply backup the main folder of your site.However, if your website uses a database, you must also perform a database backup of your database data, and download this backup to your local PC.

Also, as they are on CD's, they cannot be modified. so, once they worked, they will always work. This a good way to clarify whether a software change occurred (like a Windows update) or a virus or malaware action.

Luckilyl, you have two drives, which allows some poosibilities. For instance, you could try booting on a Knoppix or another LiveCD distro, and see if the you are able to read media in the non-booting drive. If you have no problem with VistaPE or with Knoppix, this means that the problem is really inside the windows OS on your hard disk.

I have a problem with my Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200S SCSI CdRom Device under vista.After reboot, it sees each CD or DVD a blank one, and asks me to format it.If I use Nero to burn a CD, then the drive works perfectly and is able to read every media, as if Nero correctly initialized the drive. However it stops working after reboot...It seems to be obviously a vista driver problem, because Linux or vistaPE liveCD's boot correctly, and have no problem with the CD.The PC is a Packar Bbell and has a Packard Bell BV MCP73 1.XX motherboard.
