  1. Only companies that have a lot of money can do that. Most places will provide the CD free with a shipping fee and some places charge like $1 for the CD and several other dollars for shipping (depending on where you live). End in end, it's better to just get broadband and a spindle of CDs (or DVDs for some) and happy burning! If I could afford it, I'd do the exact same thing. But postage is expensive. I can hardly pay my bills as is! [N]F
  2. Actually, now RC1 is the latest! RC1 contains bug fixes from Beta 2. Most features are here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases From the developers themselves: If no new bugs appear in RC1, then RC1 will be shipping out as Firefox 2.0! [N]F
  3. As far as I know, all email systems have been working properly. How do you get to your email? By an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook or through webmail? If you access through a email client, sometimes your ISP's DNS isn't resolving correctly or some settings may have been changed.[N]F
  4. Thanks! Now to find CDs... arg!!! And I thought my disk space was a problem! [N]F
  5. True. Internet Information Services (Windows servers) don't really care what the extension is. Just another reason why Windows servers shouldn't be allowed... [N]F
  6. I like #2 a lot! It's my favorite out of all them. But all of them a great![N]F
  7. hahaha!!! That's EXACTLY what I see when I look at it. Anyways, there's nothing wrong with searching for images via surrounding context. Actually, google will search images two ways: 1) Context 2) File name. So, for example, "coffee mug" could be in the context surrounding an image of a coffee mug and the image file name could be "coffee_mug.jpg" and google will pick both up. I also have to go with Mark on this one. Google should be paying people about $7-$10/hour for this kind of labor. Oh wait, they don't have to! They have idiots who will do it for free and so google won't have to spend a dime! [N]F
  8. Nope... you could always just have it reversed where .html is parsed as .php. Then you don't need to bother changing any file extensions and the what not. You can keep it all the same. [N]F
  9. It'll show up in the bookmarks. There currently is no setting that you can change. [N]F
  10. I sure have learned my lesson of using phpBB on a site of mine that gets many hits. Apparently, the attacker used a SQL injection (my password is 7 characters and is VERY hard to crack) to gain admin access and deleted everything then left his mark.I don't even know WHY phpBB is allowed to exist and WHY it's so popular... I'm NEVER going to use it again!Keep away from it![N]F
  11. Not necessarily the same code but the same core probably. I use open source projects all the time and a rule of programmers is to use code libraries! You're free to use the core code then make your own libraries to use with the core and as long as you give credit by saying it's "based on" or "based off of" then you're fine. [N]F
  12. I'm not sure to keep my iPod or go with Zune. Personally, I'm more thinking about getting a PSP since it has some really cool functions![N]F
  13. Hey, I've lost my link to the area where RedHat keeps the archives of RedHat Linux. I need RedHat 8.If anyone can point me to the direction of the ISO images, I'd appreciate it very much![N]F
  14. I haven't done it with FC5, but I have done it with SuSE 10. Personally, if I were you, turn down your virtual RAM for that virtual PC. Perhaps there isn't enough RAM left for your video card? I'm not exactly sure how RAM for video cards works (I'm a network expert. My friends come to me more or less for networking issues than anything else). But I'd take the RAM down to like 512 MB or something like that.[N]F
  15. I know! Azureus is the BEST. Before, I've avoided torrents because of the pain that other clients were to configure, use, etc. Azureus made it easy! [N]F
  16. Security? What security? Oh, you mean that VERY annoying box that should burn? Anyways, Vista is a COMPLETE RIP of Mac OS X. All the same stuff is there, just a few extra clicks. If you have Vista and want to see, just watch this video entitled "Mac OS X being used over Vista description" on Google Videos: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Trust me, MS just stole Mac OS X... Vista is nothing special. [N]F
  17. I forget where I found this so I can't post a link, but apparently XDrive is now giving away 5 GIGS FREE!! Personally, I LIKED XDrive before AOL bought them. I think that being an AOL company is going to affect XDrive and I think it is (if you're able to offer 5 gigs, it sounds like the servers are very empty). I trust that they're giving away 5 gigs, but it's a company with AOL at the hem. No thanks. What do you think? Is having AOL in charge a problem for a potential good service? [N]F
  18. I use Limewire and Azureus for torrents. The only problem with Limewire is that it's FLOODED deep with porn and viruses. You HAVE to apply filters which aren't enabled by default (hmm...) and I will RARELY download .exe's from LW. LW is a last resort if it isn't available as a torrent.[N]F
  19. Yes, this does sound like a human mistake. I've worked with CPanel servers before. There is NO "start quota" then an "increased quota" like in Hotmail. It's either 20 or 150 MB. If you post a link to your application for verification, someone with more powers than I have can take a look and hopefully correct the issue. [N]F
  20. Yep, a friend and I had that same discussion that this new one is too professional. If he re-did it on a web-cam, and just made a remake of the original and correcting the lip sync problem at the end, it would have been great. Two thumbs down. [N]F
  21. I'm sure all (or most) have seen the Numa Numa video SOMEWHERE. Well, Gary has made another! You can see it on you tube or on http://ww1.newnuma.com//?gtnjs=1. Personally, I don't like the new remix. But it's still cool! Go Gary! :) Knock your socks off guys! [N]F
  22. Ok, I figured it out! What happens is that a profile is created in C:\Documents and Settings\YOU\Application Data\Mozilla and is in a folder called "yr5fg32g5.default" (random string.default) and I guess some how my profile got corrupt. So I logged into my known good profile and copied it and replaced my corrupted one. Other than a few missing bookmarks (I recently backed them up so I can replace the 4 or so I'm missing. @mark420: I did download Opera as a replacement if I couldn't get Firefox back to normal. My 2 seconds experience with it was HORRIBLE. I don't know how people like that browser. [N]F
  23. Whenever my Firefox 2 Beta 1 updated to Beta 2, my fonts got all screwed up. I've tried everything from removing firefox completely from my computer and re-installing but it must keep finding some hidden settings somewhere.Anything that was verdana 10pt is now verdana 8 or smaller.Help!![N]F
  24. Yeah, RC1 was released September 1. I did find a download link to it from softpedia, though I didn't test their link. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ WARNING: The download is ~2 GIGABYTES in size so it is highly suggested to use a download manager that can resume downloads incase your internet is interrupted or if you wish to shut your computer down. (When downloading it via torrent, I left my computer on and it was downloaded in about 2 days). If you have a Beta 2 serial key, that will work with RC1. I'm currently running RC1 on my laptop and it is working out great. I can't play DVDs for some reason but other than that, it's excellent. Minor bugs but other than that it's OK. The only thing in Vista I'm really crazy about are the backgrounds. Later, after I've tested for a while, I'll post a review of RC1. [N]F
  25. Does it seem like it to anyone else or is it just me, but myspace is comparable to Windows ME on the sense that it never works right, there's a thousand security issues in the software or anything else like that?[N]F
