  1. the LGA (Land Grid Array)-775 was built so it prevents damage to the pins. However if you use the traditional PGA (Plastic Grid Array) on older processor, you have a higher chance of damaging the pins.xboxrulz
  2. if I heard correctly, they redesigned PHP 5 by removing the really unefficient code that was really bogging it down.xboxrulz
  3. lol, well.. I dunno, 'cuz Linux and other opensource OS are 64-bit ready out of the box with barely any problems.xboxrulz
  4. the best way is to build a couple computers with the EXACT same configuration ... that way, M$ doesn't know that :Dxboxrulz
  5. Yes, the BSD operating system has been refined by PCBSD and it's ok I think. However, there are still 10k things they still have to fix. First of all, they need to recompile the HP DeskJet drivers properly so that it can print over Windows networks PROPERLY. Another thing, although it's not PCBSD's fault but FreeBSD's is that my Micro$oft mouse doesn't work on it and it's been pissing me off. This is the main reason why I will not move to BSD until these issues are resolved.xboxrulz
  6. lol, guys, remember this: Intel Core Duo 2 IS A 32-BIT core. In contrast, the Athlon 64 X2 is a 64-BIT core.It still seems like AMD is still in the lead, however, the X2 is quite expensive still...xboxrulz
  7. this OS is very interesting. Most of its code was borrowed from the WINE project and it works seemlessly on the user's computer.xboxrulz
  8. For me, I LOVE MOZILLA products. It's open source, unrestricted, secure and most of all fast. It's the most popular multi-OS web-browser out there! However, one criticism is, can someone in the Mozilla team stop using the GTK+ backend for Firefox/Thunderbird? It slows everything down, I rather they use the faster QT engine and they still avoid all licensing issues because it's opensource software...xboxrulz
  9. certainly you can go for the 6800 GS, and I highly recommend it since it's better than the Radeon 9800XT.Plus, it costs around $90 something (USD) or $100 (CAD) if you know where to look.xboxrulz
  10. try to reinstall the WHOLE OS. I think there's something wrong with his current install. Else, try downloading this driver: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ xboxrulz
  11. You should aim to get a connection w/ 3.0 mbpsdl 500KBPS upload. This is aa bare minimum to host any game servers.xboxrulz
  12. the Intel chipsets shouldn't do that though, I have a similar one and it never pops me back to 800x600.xboxrulz
  13. I would still like Apple to consider to add a PPC or Intel option when choosing the Mac, 'cuz I love the PPC architecture, it's fast and runs on less power.xboxrulz
  14. I was just talking to my friends about this today and they too think it's a bad idea because that'll make the competition less balance and favour NVIDIA because ATI is practically removed from the scene.xboxrulz
  15. Yes, MacOS X 10.5 Leopard is due to release by the end of this year with many improvements like Bootcamp. For more information see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_v10.5 xboxrulz
  16. there are 10.1 repositories on the link I gave u but Oxixares didn't update his list. Just change the distro number from 9.3 to 10.1.xboxrulz
  17. well... no, but WINE is pretty good but w/ out the need to actually install Windows or get VMWare.xboxrulz
  18. M$ can never make anything that is safe, they just bloat their software so much that they can't go back and fix most of the things.xboxrulz
  19. For me, the best fighting game for me is Dead or Alive 4xboxrulz
  20. abhiram, the GeForce 6600 is great, especially, it has an AGP version. I have it and it runs really well and my computer is older than yours and it can still play some really new games.xboxrulz
  21. FINALLY! Finally Google released Google Earth for Linux. Now, we don't need to run it over WINE. Google Earth uses QT and OpenGL as renderers, so you do need those driver and toolkit. https://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html It is currently in beta as part of the 4th version. xboxrulz
  22. you can download it at Microsoft's website. It's in beta though.xboxrulz
  23. wow, I never knew such a forum software doesn't have its own converter?!?!? Even smaller forum software like Quicksilver Forums has one. It even has a converter for IPB 2!!xboxrulz
  24. ya that's true ... the freaky thing is that my family drive pass the ATI HQ regularly and now, I always think 'bout the acquisition whenever we drive pass it. The building is only a couple major blocks from my house anyways....*P.S: sweet! I just reached my 888th post and as all Chinese people know it, it's a really lucky #!*xboxrulz
  25. heck, I don't see a point in modding my XBOX, especially my 360. It's too precious to rewire it. Plus, why would I want to save games on my HDD. I rather spend it on media than games. That's why it's on DVDs for a reason. Plus, I don't like jipping the creator's work. This is IMO of course.xboxrulz
