  1. Actually, Vienna has been pushed back, according to some sources and it's rumoured to be after Fiji.xboxrulz
  2. The new Macs that are Intel based are practically like any other commodity PC, it just looks and feels different. MacOS X works on any x86 computer as long as it supports SSE2. Even MacOS X was originally written for the x86 processor before they ported it to the PPC architeccture.Mactels are essentially PC that is uberly awesome. You can even run Windows on them natively with bootcamp. However, I still don't understand why a Mac (PPC based) is not a PC. PC stands for Personal Computer and a Mac is a personal computer, it's mine... it's personal... Any computer to me on the market should be called Personal Computer (PC) because they are personally yours.xboxrulz
  3. I totally agree with you. I think that Google will eventually prevail over Microsoft. However, only time can tell. Plus, Linux and/or UNIX is going to be the future of computing again like it did in the 1970s.xboxrulz
  4. try deleting the profile in C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\OpenOffice.orgthen restart Windows and OpenOffice.xboxrulz
  5. lol, happy bday for the first IBM-based PC.Actually, the first PC was the Apple I, and II. They were truely the ones who brought computers to the masses.xboxrulz
  6. vhortex, it still doesn't work.Specs:Windows XP Professional SP2 North American Retail Editionxboxrulz
  7. Not really, I remembered that you can share a dialup via LAN. I remembered when I was small, my teacher, at a computer learning centre used to use Dialup and had 4 computers connected via a router to the dialup internet connected to one of the computers. However, that's over a WIRED network. I think with some configuration, like on the computer connected with a dialup modem and the LAN, it should work. However, due to the fact that dialup technology is obsolete and barely anyone I know uses it, I dun have any answer to this and that it is nearly impossible to find any Internet sources to show you how to do it.xboxrulz
  8. unimatrix, you do seem like a Mac fan, all your computers are Macs :Dxboxrulz
  9. Although this news is pretty old for me, I was also amazed how M$ can plan so far ahead. No wonder why their software is incomplete, they are too eager to build a new Windows.xboxrulz
  10. wow, 1 year difference does make a huge difference in computer hardware. My computer is 5 years old and it doesn't have HT, but a year later, there is (ref. wutske's machine)wowxboxrulz
  11. I don't know, all of my Windows were installed from scratch and not from OEMs. The only way for me to access SAFE MODE was F8. It was always F8. I've never heard of anyone using F11 to do so. By tapping F11, it bumps me to BIOS (for HP based machines) and for regular machines, it completely ignores you.xboxrulz
  12. yes, but all of this comes at the price of speed when browsing. I prefer just using my IP address instead.Plus, it's not like I'm doing anything illegal.xboxrulz
  13. I can also now confirm that it doesn't work on Windows Server 2003 either. All there is left, is to test this theory on Windows XP.EDIT: I just tested this theory on my bro's computer (w/ Windows XP) and it still doesn't work.I don't think your theory works.xboxrulz
  14. in US tonnes of people sue for the most ridiculous things ever. Just like a guy spilled hot coffee on himself in a McDonald's and the cup clearly had "Caution: Hot Content" on the label. Still, the guy who sued McD's won!xboxrulz
  15. The Windows administrator account does NOT have a password on default. You must set it yourself either during installation or afterwards. However, I tried the trick on Windows 2000 and I can confirm that it doesn't work. However, I'll try it on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 later.xboxrulz
  16. An easier way to hide files (literally) is to do this: 1. Right click your folder or file 2. Press Properties 3. Check the "Hidden" box Just like this: xboxrulz
  17. Final Cut Pro? It works on the Intel machines via Rosetta. There shouldn't be any performance penalties since you're running 2 processors. One for the Rosetta application and the other one using native apps. (Although MacOS X will do this seperation if need be)xboxrulz
  18. All I can say, right now is that UNIX is the most beautiful piece of operating system you'll ever see. It's highly compliant (within POSIX) and you can swap between them. Windows is NOT compatible with other operating systems. For distro compliancy, most distros are cross compatible. The same binary can work for different Linuxes. Same with FreeBSD, FreeBSD is highly compliant w/ Linux. Even Solaris is comming up w/ a Linux ABI to run Linux software natively.Anyways, the chances of me going to Vista, as in moving in permanently? The chances would be 1:(the distance between centre of the Spiral Galaxy to Sun and back).xboxrulz
  19. no, you need to install Windows XP inside VMWare. It just pretends to be another computer inside your computer.xboxrulz
  20. VMWare server is free and it works JUST like VMWare Workstationxboxrulz
  21. no, AMD is BUYING ATI. That's very certain, 'cuz after the acquisition, ATI and AMD will be renamed to AMD.It may not be that good for the end-users. For me, I'm highly concern with our Canadian identity and our economy more than what good it'll do for end-users. After the acquisition, it'll hit hard on our economy.xboxrulz
  22. yes, I can't wait to see another Underground like game. I bought Need for Speed Underground 2 for XBOX (using it on my 360) instead of buying MW, 'cuz I can't really mod my car.xboxrulz
  23. remember, the acquisition is NOT COMPLETED yet. They just announced it. The government of Canada, the town of Markham and the ATI shareholders MUST agree first before the acquisition can take place.I would propose to the town of Markham to vote no, but I don't really have that power since I live in the town next to Markham.Anywho, this boost is just short term since this is just the news of the acqusition. I'm thinking LONG term. It is bad for ATI in the LONG term.As per acquiring NVIDIA, NVIDIA never wanted to be purchased. Even if they were up for sell, it's too expensive for AMD to do so. However, Intel has a bigger chance if they were to acquire NVIDIA because they have the money to do so.xboxrulz
  24. I only use MySpace for the groups I'm part of. If it weren't for them, I'm happy with my own blog and Yahoo! Photos.xboxrulz
  25. You could've just set all the permissions and not let their employees know that they were using admin.xboxrulz
