  1. hmmm... I didn't notice any downtime, I guess I was snoozing when all of this mess happened.Good thing the recovery process was fast. Might I suggest that Xisto get like a Hotbrick firewall, it comes with ping-to-death protection.xboxrulz
  2. I guess so, like I was looking at these electronic component I have, and actually the only ones that have been dyed were things that were computer parts. Actually, I think I've only seen motherboards in other colours because I think the manufacturers realized that system builders got sick and tired of looking at the constant green. The motherboard is also the biggest computer component inside a tower, so that's what I think.Your thoughts?xboxrulz
  3. LimeWire works on Macs since it is written in Java. As for boot camp, it's just a BIOS layer on top of Mac's EFI for dual booting. You can use Boot Camp to boot Linux too. I rather you use VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop for Mac to run Windows in your MacOS X installation than QEMU because QEMU will emulate everything, you don't want that since it will take a lot of resources. VMWare and Parallels uses virtual machining and splits the CPU and resources to handle multiple operating systems. NeoOffice is basically OpenOffice but written in Java so that it runs on the Mac easier and to incorporate the Aqua look and feel. GIMP works on Macs too. You could also use TextEdit to make webpages. xboxrulz
  4. Starcraft definitely need a second alliteration because Starcraft is starting to get really old. However, still fun. Hopefully they haven't screwed it over.xboxrulz
  5. eMachines is known for making refurbished machines. For that money, you could build your own new system. You could check your local home computer store. Most AMD machines are very cheap right now since AMD dropped their prices like crazy recently.xboxrulz
  6. I used to have cjb.net or uni.cc subdomains before I got my kwokinator.com domain name.xboxrulz
  7. I would definitely agree to that. Basically what I said up top. xboxrulz
  8. that would be a hell hole for me and my best friend, we always go on iChat ... lol, good times ... there's nothing more than seeing my friend when she's drunk ... anyways, ya, just had a little party over the Internet after she got drunk. So ya ... I'm not drunk though, so w/e. Just hyper from Coca Cola.Like, the Internet is so important, I can't live without it for too long now. It became part of me. I'm live on the cutting edge when possible and have assimilated the Internet into my daily life. With Internet down for 3 days was hell for me. I can live that long on vacations, but not at home.xboxrulz
  9. lol, that's what I mean, it's bugging me ... I don't think I can get this solved anytime soon.... lol. It might even be an unsolvable conundrum as far as I know.@turbomaxsteel: true, I've seen it on almost all other electronic devices ... that's why I said most since my mobo is purple.... i mean orange ... man, I feel like I'm drunk, but I didn't even had any alcohol, just drinking pop ... maybe that's why ... lol.xboxrulz
  10. Ok, this is a really weird question and has been bugging me for days, but does anyone know why most computer chips are green? For some reason they are, but I'm not sure why. Silicon itself is metallic in colour. Even when we are thinking about computer chips, we envision a green card or a chip on a green board. So this is really bugging me. https://g' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /> ?? xboxrulz
  11. I don't see that technology going too far. Unless this technology is what ISPs are using to provide portable Internet.xboxrulz
  12. Bittorrent router? Never heard. However, routers are just smart switches, for me, my router mainly manages my DHCP/DNS settings and provide wireless throughout my house. xboxrulz
  13. Yes, World of Warcraft was designed with Mac in mind, there's Vendetta as monahan had stated above. There's also EVE Online which made landfall on the Mac lately via the Cider Game Engine.xboxrulz
  14. True and not true, you can be only be careful with viruses, but Windows machines are very easy to puncture through when it comes to other aspects of security like a hacker attack and running exploited code. On Mac, you can be intruded, but it takes a lot more steps and countermeasures to puncture through. Even if you did, you won't be able to touch any system files until you figured out the password. xboxrulz
  15. Today, EA has announced the arrival of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, a sequel to the old Red Alert 2 with its latest expansion pack released in 2001, Yuri's Revenge. In this iteration of Red Alert, the Soviet Union went back in time to save its motherland, however, it accidentally created a new empire and alternate timeline where Japan had become a high tech super power named the Empire of the Rising Sun. 16. SP3 is yet been released, its release date is slated for March. However, you must realize that most modern operating system, maybe less of MacOS X is coded on C/C++ as the base and have some of the tools coded in .NET (for Windows) and Objective-C in MacOS X. Other UNIX systems use C/C++ exclusively for its systems. As for Windows, as long as you have a fairly new machine, it should run Vista fine, I have yet to really run into compatibility issues (as in not running at all even after tinkering.) That was an issue on release time, but less now.xboxrulz
  17. ok, Microsoft looks really really really desperate right now, they will lobby Yahoo's shareholders to accept the bid. I ask, what person in the world doesn't see this as a desperate measure anymore. http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/microsoft-says-its-offer-for-yahoo-is-full-and-fair-1.714976 Your take? xboxrulz
  18. You can actually see if your favourite Windows game have been ported from Windows to Mac at Asypr, EA and other small Mac vendors. You can also check the Apple Store (this link is to the Canadian version) xboxrulz
  19. I think that it's always better if you just get a phone that has an AAC/MP3 function like the Sony Ericsson Walkman series phones, LG Shine or Samsung D807.You can always expand its storage space by shoving in a new memory card and transfer all the data over.xboxrulz
  20. Interesting, I haven't even thought of that solution ever. I guess I just learned something new, I know that turning off the system doesn't mean that it's fully off, but that's quite the surprising answer.xboxrulz
  21. Doctors say that the Nintendo Wii is a great way for people with recovering from strokes, broken bones, surgery, and even combat injuries. It goes to show that the Nintendo Wii is definitely more than a gaming machine for teenagers. It has already seen inroads to gyms to get kids working out instead of sitting down in front of their PC/Mac/XBOX 360 or their PS3 playing their video games without at least getting active. Doctors say that some patients don't have full finger motions, so using the Wii to interact with their characters or just the game in general help patients out. More on the article: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I believe that the Wii is definitely more than a gaming system, it does have a better use for physical education and therapy, or even just part of a workout routine. I have a Wii and I absolutely love the system. Sometimes I even ignore my XBOX 360 ... lol. xboxrulz
  22. I seriously don't think Microsoft would be that dumb to pay more, unless they are actually that desperate to be on top of Google. We know that Microsoft wants to be always on top of the pack, and be all monopolistic. Why not a smaller company like ... umm... Ask? or Lycos?xboxrulz
  23. The mouse manufacturer should still give you the driver disc for the mouse. I'm surprised that they did not. Since it's Microsoft, try checking Microsoft's website. I have a Microsoft optical mouse and it did come with a driver.xboxrulz
  24. A surprising turn of events had occurred, Yahoo has since turned down Microsoft's hostile take over. Yahoo rationalizes that their company worth a lot more than what Microsoft's offer. At $31 per share, Yahoo said that, that is too little. They wanted a lot more, they were looking at more than $40 per share, which is around $56 billion dollars. Microsoft is already requiring a loan in order to pay off the $44.6 billion if the acquisition did go through. So it's now even harder for Microsoft to convince shareholders to allow Microsoft to borrow more money to get the deal closed. More on Ars Technica: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ xboxrulz
