  1. No, no, no!IMO never use WMP at all. It has bad bugs that you never find until you're waist-deep in using it.Take the bug in WMP 10 for example, where the library is not sorted according to any traditional method. By artist mostly, but when ripping from CDs the songs get randomly placed!Use iTunes for listening!
  2. Now the service requires 75 posts...Yes, the layout and color scheme is VERY unprofessional.Astahost is several times better.Besides, I could never leave Xisto or "cheat" on it...It's like my home.
  3. Well, once I was walking down the street, and Paul McCartney came up to me and said, "My goodness, young man, you ought to make an original handle for the internet." Because of course Paul McCartney is well-versed in internet activities. So he flipped a coin- one side was heads, the other side was "superXfiles". Wouldn't you know, the coin landed on "superXfiles". So Paul said "I pronounce you 'superXfiles' from now on. You shall carry this name with pride into the World Wide Web." But the next day, Yoko Ono came up to me with a blue slip of paper. I took it and she walked away. On the back, it said "Don't let Paul fool you. You are 'austiniskoge'." Well that did it. No way was I gonna listen to musical genius when I could be taken over by hippie-artist-oddity. So then I was austiniskoge. ... Okay, okay. That was totally made up. My first name: austin "Helping verb": is Danish city that I read about in Hans Christian Andersen: Koge austin+is+koge austiniskoge. Google it!
  4. The post requirement for myshost.com has jumped to 75...Oh well, I'll give it a try.Also waiting for my new domain, "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/;
  5. Haha, this is funny. How exactly does it work? Like wire components that redirect the current away from the body? Or is it the polyester itself?Because if all polyester has that kind of effect... that would be interesting.
  6. Also has file-sharing programs :(Yes, it's a very good site.Do they really have old Photoshops? Gotta get me some of that! I've been needing a good Photoshop for a while now...
  7. On CnnMoney.com, I read today (June 19) that "sources say" Microsoft is developing a music service and device to compete with Apple's iPod and iTunes. It will be a pay-per-download service with an optional "all you can eat" monthly payment. It's supposed to be more user-friendly as far as finding new artists or having a music community online. I guess that's the big hook, because obviously it's not going to work with anything but WMP PlaysForSure devices. The sources said that they already saw a prototype of the device and heard the great things about the service. They said it was impressive and gave the impression that it might have some effect on the industry. The article claims that Microsoft has already met with music industry people to discuss a new pricing system, designed to break away from Apple's 99cent format. Funny how this was leaked the day after Bill Gates' announcement that he will be stepping down at Microsoft. After this was leaked, Apple shares fell and Microsoft shares rose. Hmm... 8. Okay. That works to place the image in the frame. But what about not tiling it?It's a small image, so after the first one displays at the top of the frame, it continues with more all the way down.Isn't it like:<body background="tsmg2.jpg" position="center">except that's like horizontal center, and I just want one vertically centered image.
  9. I'm just starting to design my website. So far, it looks okay. Here's a basic rundown: index.html is divided into two frames: menubar.htm (25%) and "mainwindow" (75%). The menu bar has about 7 images which, when clicked, open other .htm files in "mainwindow". I want a background image "tsmg2.jpg" (which is in the same folder as everything else) to be behind the 7 link- images. The image works, I know- I can code <img src="tsmg2.jpg"> and it will display it. However, I want it as the background. I've been coding <background="tsmg2.jpg"> and putting that right under the first <html> opening tag. Why doesn't it show "tsmg" as the background for the other images? -EDIT- okay, I found a css tutorial off google. now, I need to know how to have only one image (not tiled) I tried: <style type="text/css"> body { background-image: url('tsmg2.jpg') background-repeat: no-repeat; } </style> with no luck... and can I have the browser auto-size it to fit the frame? I know different browsers display different looks...
  10. Yeah, I got two popups and a black window with Dot TK ads at the top. There was this hyperlink field in the middle, but when I clicked nothing happened.I hope it's only a mistake or something.
  11. OH MY GOSH yes. I played MDK 1 for Mac- amazing game. When it hit Dreamcast, I hit GameStop. This game was one of my favorites out of all the 90's games I ever played. Seriously, it's great. It's like Batman, without any special powers, in a tight unitard. Finally someone gives this game props.
  12. Yea for DamnSmallLinux! Use it at home as my main OS on one of my systems... very reliable and portable. 50mb is not bad for an OS, you know? If you're reading this and you've never tried DSL, what are you waiting for? Download Here!
  13. Hmm... tantalizing.I would definitely see what "Gmusic" had to offer if there ever was one.But I do think if Google sticks its fingers in enough people's pies, they'll lose street cred/popularity. Or, they'll run out of fingers XD.
  14. eh, I only got pages about my band and some religious stuff...Not much of a surprise. But how come some people act like "Wow, I never thought of Googling myself before!"Gee, I thought of that like five mins after using Google.
  15. Well, if you're one of those top eBay sellers or you run some other kind of merchandise-sales-store, you'd want to know what's in demand. According to a book I recently read about "how to strike it rich on eBay", high volume sellers go with the trends... therefore rendering a good use for Google Trends. My neighbor works a job, not a particularly high salary at all. However, he lives quite well because his wife is a high-volume eBay seller. So Google Trends' value doesn't apply to everyone but lots of people can use it in their everyday life.
  16. Well, okay. I can see the limited practicality. However, the only real innovation of Google Earth over other services like MapQuest is the high-res photos. Sure, that's nice but it doesn't make a giant difference...I still don't think it's revolutionary. Nice, sure. Google's great in my opinion. It's just not the new sliced bread.
  17. Honestly, how could this be true? 1. It's probably a big hoax/lie/joke/fake. 2. How can they host that much space and bandwidth? 3. If it's real, the requirements for a valid post or "coins" are probably unreasonable. I'm not even going to bother looking for that site.
  18. That's amazing! All of that just to keep Trap 17 alive, and to eventually create Xisto. That is really an inspirational story.Keep up the good work, admins, moderators, and posters!
  19. In the United States, most monetary-type restrictions are set at 18 years.Credit cards, checking accounts (co-sign with a guardian if under 18), that kind of thing. You can use PayPal with a checking account in the US.
  20. Dang it, my stupid browser won't let me view IPB images...I hate you, IE!Yeah, but I'm sure it's great. Haha, can't see it worth crap and I'm still handing out kudos.
  21. Yeah, pretty cool. Didn't see any movies though, wonder if the page is messed up.I am using IE, after all. School computers, can't install Firefox without being screamed at/ getting computer "privledges" taken away.
  22. Haha! This whole discussion about "splat"!This gave me an idea for my own graphic expedition: I design flyers for bands. Why not make my own "splat!" and sell it to some band? Thanks, guys.
  23. What about Bangladesh? Gotta see my uncle's home in Dhaka!I think it's awesome that they're expanding the high-resolution areas. Now it's really "Google Earth"!
  24. Yeah, sure it's a cool idea. But keep in mind the harmless "Google Toolbar" you have on your current browser will be like 400 pixels high...Haha.I'm sure whatever those Google people can come up with is good enough for everyone.
