Protect Your Site Or suffer the consiquences
austiniskoge replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
This is really interesting! Wow...Food for thought, indeed. I'm a little behind on website security... actually, a lot behind! Thanks, twitch, for this little reminder that you've got to protect yourself. I'm definitely gonna get on it now. -
Atari's Pole Position 1980's Commercial This rules.
austiniskoge replied to darkranger's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That is my favorite Atari game ever! Well, besides Galaga.I have it on one of those "Plug n' Play" emulator-toy-things that go into your tv. Great- just great. -
All I have to say is"I HATE MICROSOFT OFFICE."On a related note, it's nice to see you using YouSendIt. Haven't seen much of that, but I am constantly using it for file transfers and the like. Glad to share that little connection

Hottest Searched Keywords Over The Internet
austiniskoge replied to vdhieu84's topic in Search Engines
Eh, I just looked at it.Doesn't look like much. Celebrities' names and lots of Myspace.I thought it would be something like "sex, xxx, porn" etc. Guess not. -
Man Struck By Lightning & Blames iPod
austiniskoge replied to dhanesh1405241511's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Oh my god. Seriously, these are the things that make all of us Americans look like complete idiots. That and our president but that's another story 24-book volume. They probably just made a big deal about it so they could sue Apple (whose deep pockets are in the billions of dollars). No doubt they thought they could retire early on Apple's tab. Haha- now that guy's name is just all over the internet. -
What Is The Limit Of The Life? whats the limit of the life?
austiniskoge replied to doctor's topic in Science and Technology
This theoretical person would most likely live around 150-250 years. This is considering:-No pathogens that have any negative effect are in existence, including bacteria and viruses-All bacteria that have postive effects are in existence, such as digestive bacteria-No radiation exists-The person is not subjected to such harmful waves as are emitted from televisions and radios-The person's basic needs are all fulfilled without excess (sex, food, water)-The person does not develop any abnormal thinking processes, meaning all common mental neccessities are present, such as companionship, intellectual adversity, etc.The list of conditions for an "unaffected" person could go on and on. Just face it: there is no way on our planet that those conditions can be created. -
Gig4free Cost Me Half A Day Short time experience
austiniskoge replied to mchelge's topic in General Discussion
Ouch. That's a waste of time.Personally, I have no need for anything additional like that. No extra accounts anywhere, or anything so I can't empathize.I can, however, sympathize. Many times I have wasted time on a website because they have problems with their server. -
Orkut: Google Community Like Hi5 & MySpace
austiniskoge replied to sandeep1405241520's topic in Search Engines
Hmm... sounds like it definitely has potential (just like everything that gets cranked out of Google ) but I have no use for what sounds like a beta version. Not to mention I primarily use Myspace to spread the word about my music, and mostly to people in my local area. Orkut seems like the kind of thing people just try out and then leave alone.Maybe in a year or so it will be popular. Hate to sound like a bandwagon jumper, but that's just how it works for me. -
Well good luck with that...I would like to try AdSense in the future, but first I would like to build my site and get higher traffic. Also, I have heard many negative stories about the service... Maybe by the time I start it, there will be a more secure system in place. It seems too easy for someone to sabotage your account by clicking your ads.

Templates can be very useful and easy, however I still recommend creating your own, using some kind of base if not writing it from scratch. I would still be considered a "beginner" I think, but I am much more comfortable with using templates and programs like FrontPage now that I've chalked up some of my own HTML in Notepad. Just get the basics down, you know?I'm just saying I don't recommend templates for complete beginners- learn your way around HTML first. Of course, lots of people probably already knew that.

Haha-The best version of Windows is Linux.Seriously- Windows is only good if you really must use it (i.e. school computers, work computers, certain applications). Linux is twenty million times more reliable and stable than Windows, not to mention it comes in every flavor of the rainbow!Plus, you can use OSes like DamnSmallLinux on almost any computer. If it's just your PC, everybody recommends you switch to Linux.

Help! Why Are My Points Going Down?
austiniskoge replied to cassie1405241527's topic in Web Hosting Support
In my opinion, there's really no need to worry about all that. I mean sure, you need to know what the hosting is all about, but just keep your credits up. If you can just do that, you probably won't ever have to worry about account suspension or anything like that. But definitely make sure you're on top of things. Don't ever think "Oh, I'm sure I've got enough credits." Always be one step ahead of the game. -
Pluto's Two New Moons They have a name
austiniskoge replied to sonoftheclayr's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hey, I didn't know there were other moons! That's interesting.Haha, those NASA fools. Has anyone ever been to the Houston Space Center? Quite an enriching experience, but it's very family-oriented. If you think it's going to be sterile and quiet, think again. You can basically only go to the hands-on display place. Cool, but boring after a while.I'd like to know more about those moons. Maybe I'll search Wikipedia. -
Cancer Cure? Anyone Know If This Is True?
austiniskoge replied to KewlKC07's topic in Science and Technology
Well one of my science teachers once taught us about why cancer cells are so dangerous. The reason is that they duplicate when the body doesn't want them to. The body can "tell" most cells not to duplicate, but the receptor for that message is protected on cancer cells. So the body can't send the "message" for the cells to stop reproducing.I have heard of new medicines being tested that break the layer of protection on the receptor. This way, the body can control growth of cancer cells and repair damage without harmful treatment such as radiation and chemotherapy. Hopefully, this technology will work. My dad went through cancer of the trachea and it was horrible. -
Yeah, it's a pretty good collection...Keep in mind that these are all links to other pages. It's not some Photoshop-Genius's amazing collection of tutorials that he's been writing for years.Just FYI

A New Review, Please need a new review
austiniskoge replied to Logan Deathbringer's topic in General Discussion
At first sight, my initial reaction is "Wow! This is good-lookin'!"On second thought, I agree with pyost about the KOG Team Speak- awkwardly placed. The color scheme is also a little off from the rest of the site, but if that is the only way it's gonna be, it should be put somewhere else. You only need to change one variable there- the color or the location.Other than that, I think it's great! -
Well, that's the Google style, you know?Do you also think the Google homepage needs more content on it? I think one of the main reasons Google is more popular than other search engines is the homepage. Yahoo and other sites cram way too many links and pictures for it to be visually comfortable. It's fine the way it is- simple and clean. That's what keeps me coming back. (Actually it's the 2+GB of space )

My Band's Website just got it up.
austiniskoge replied to austiniskoge's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like a good idea- I'll check it out.But also take another look and see what I've done now.I was previously just writing code, but I succumbed to Microsoft's subliminal messages and opened FrontPage. It's really done a great deal for me, because I can tell it looks ten times better. Also, please try out the downloads. I want to make sure they work on other systems and OSes (and I also want to spread my music ). If you have any problems with pages or links, just tell me. -
Adobe Photoshop CS2 is by far the most amazing program I think I've ever used. It's so powerful, I have yet to unlock many of its features. There are so many things that I'm not familiar with, and I'm working on it every day. It's so comprehensive and thorough. It's really beyond anything I thought graphics editors were capable of. I would get frustrated with other programs, wishing it would let me do this or that, but with Photoshop the sky is no limit.Truly incredible. I think I'm in love.

My Band's Website just got it up.
austiniskoge replied to austiniskoge's topic in General Discussion
Is drupal free? And is there a learning curve? I don't want to spend any time learning new things... I'm just like that If it's free, and as convenient and helpful as you say it is, I'll try it out. -
My Band's Website just got it up.
austiniskoge replied to austiniskoge's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I know the tommy gun is really fuzzy (stupid JPEG compression) but I imagine I'll replace or resize so that it looks okay.Basically for now, I just wanted to make sure that people can load it on their browser and the code is good. Thanks, I'll update it ASAP.
