Can You Make Lots Of Money Online With Very Little Effort?
galexcd replied to scaifea's topic in Business Forum
I find it very hard to believe that your website will get lots of traffic if you do not update it. No matter what kind of website you are running it will always need you to come back and check on it and modify things to it for it to be successful. -
I think blizzard is trying to bite off more than it can chew... Within this past year they have announced sequels/expansions for every single one of their series except Warcraft, and now they are planning a sequel to that? Warcraft was the game that really got them off the ground at first so it does make sense that they want to push the series but I think they are promising too much. I'll be surprised if both Starcraft II and Diablo III are released on the promised date in blizzard's initial announcement.

Incase anyone cares, here are some pictures I took from my front yard of the session fire from a few weeks ago: And here are some pictures, again taken from my front yard of the Sylmar fires. And no that isn't the sun shining between the trees...

Please excuse if the spelling and grammar in this post are not up to par, but I am exhausted... Last night I went to sleep watching the news. There was coverage on the fires in Sylmar. Sylmar isn't too near to me but it isn't that far either, however it was no where near as close to me as the Sesson fire was a few weeks back, in which I was able to see flames raging down the hill toward my house. About two hours after I fell asleep I was rudely awoken by the sounds of sirens and a police loudspeaker informing my neighborhood that this area is under mandatory evacuation... Great. I grabbed everything that was valuable/meaningful to me, put it in my car, and I left. I had nothing really to do, but I did have to be at work at 9am which was in 6 hours so I just waited and listened to the radio for status updates. I showed up at work, hungry and tired as ever and worried about what might be happening to my house. After 9 hours of that I finally get to drive home to find that police have blocked the roads going into my neighborhood and that I would have to wait in my car for them to open the roads. After a few hours they finally had something better to do than babysit the street so I went home. So now I am here, the smell of smoke is so strong that there is no way I'm going to be able to go to sleep. Thankfully it looks like the firefighters don't think that this area is such a big threat anymore but we shall see in the morning I suppose.... So apparently the fire was started at night at a park in an area without any power lines or anything to suggest natural causes. Everyone is pretty sure it's arson. I'm sick and tired of these crazy people coming out during this time of the year when we have high winds and starting fires. What kind of joy could they possibly have watching others lose their houses? 8,100 acres have burned, and who knows how many thousands of houses. Here is a map. The red area has burned, and the blue area is under mandatory evacuation. I won't tell you exactly where I live but I will tell you that I live in the blue area between Reseda Blvd and Balboa Blvd north of the 118 freeway. With wind speeds about 80 mph, embers are flying everywhere igniting hot spots... I can't believe someone would actually do this. I am just sick of the humans that inhabit this world. Edit: so apparently since the area isn't under mandatory evacuation anymore they took out the blue area.

In all versions of mac os X if you take a screenshot (Either Command+Shift+3 for entire screen or Command+Shift+4 for only a portion) it saves your image as a png on the desktop by default. No need to install any additional software.

The only way to compete with other hosts now is to oversell. Pretty much all hosts are doing it and it's not a bad thing. According to the law of large numbers the more samples of a random number you take, the closer the average will converge to one number, and that number will never be anywhere close to the maximum each number can be. In other words if a webhost oversells and has, say one thousand customers, even if many of those customers use all of their available space and bandwidth, the average space and bandwidth used by each customer can be calculated, and that exact measurement of disk size can be then met by purchasing that many hard drives for the server. Do you really think that google has 7+ gigs per gmail member stored in some building some where just waiting to be used? No. Even if I were to sign up over one thousand gmail accounts and upload the max 7 gigs of space on each one it wouldn't affect them in the least. Heck, i'm sure even xisto oversells, but I'm not entirely sure, I don't want to speak for a company I don't work for, but the fact that they've stayed in business as long as they have I assume they do.

Not everyone lives in the city, in more rural places skunks roam free and dogs may chase after them even while not under your watchful eye.

Whenever someone debates between an iMac and a Mac mini I usually try to steer them towards an iMac. A mac mini is useful under certain cases, but for about the price of a display and keyboard, extra you get a gorgeous and powerful all-in-one computer. The fact that the iMac has a dedicated GPU is reason enough for me to buy one over a mac mini. Unless the only thing you plan to be using your computer for is internet and reading email I'd recommend the iMac. Besides, if you already have a second display, you can run it as a dual display with your iMac. Screen real estate is quite important. I run dual displays, and at first I never thought I'd use my second display, but many times I put windows such as download progress bars... etc... that I want to monitor while using my primary display.Anyway, back on topic. Even though neither the iMac or the Mac Mini will allow you to upgrade your hard drive very easily, you can upgrade your ram on the iMac with very minimal effort.

You should also understand that under the old system, 30 credits were enough to sign up for the plan, but after you signed up for the plan you had to pay 1 credit per day to keep your hosting account active. With the myCent system you are paying in advance, so for example, if you sign up for a year of hosting you technically do not have to have any myCents for that entire year since you already payed for it.

Keyboards Not Functioning When Windows Boots Thank God for Ubuntu
galexcd replied to BlueInkAlchemist's topic in Software
Have you tried booting from a known good operating system? If you do and the keyboard works then you know its a software problem, not a hardware problem and you probably just need a fresh install of windows. Also, I'm not totally sure but doesn't windows have some sort of safe mode where it doesn't load all of it's extensions at boot? If the keyboard works at first but stops working after windows has completely loaded that might be some sort of extension loading that is causing problems -
If you're going to resurrect a 4 month old possibly resolved topic the least you can do is read what others have said before posting. Windows movie maker was mentioned in the fourth post down and was shot down in the fifth.

Everyone conveniently forgot to let me know that the nominations are happening now. Oh well, better late than never:

Buying applecare is not going to help this situation at all. Any kind of accidental damage (including liquid spills) puts the machine out of warranty, applecare can't override that. Besides, if the machine is already out of warranty you can't buy applecare for it. My advice to sonesay is just make a genius bar appointment and bring it in and ask the genius how much it will cost to repair it. Don't try to lie to the genius and say liquid never got in the machine, when they take the topcase off they will be able to see evidence of liquid and you will just be re-quoted. The cost really depends on what components inside were damaged. The logic board is pretty expensive and unfortunately, it is probably what got fried.

Wow, I have never seen a post that screams "I am homophobic", as much as yours just has. Even if you believe gay people shouldn't be together doesn't mean you should trample on the rights of others.

Are you sure you are exporting the video with the correct dimensions for your iPod? mp4 is MPEG4. It is just another way of writing it.

A Program I Am Creating average, min, max, (mode), range, (median)

Not if you add the following code after your do-while statement: num[i]=null; -
The problem is in the file themes.inc.php not init.inc.php. On line 298 in init.inc.php, you require themes.inc.php which is the page returning the error. require "include/themes.inc.php"; //All Fallback Theme Templates and Functions If you post themes.inc.php we might be able to find the error for you.

What you can do is add a new wildcard subdomain. You can do this with DNS management like the tutorial I linked to below tells you to, but if you do not have access to your DNS management you can just add a new subdomain in your cpanel. To make it wildcard just add *.yourdomain.com. After doing this give the server some time to update, but if you did it right any subdomain you go to should return the same output as your root domain name (i.e. your index page). After you add *.yourdomain.com create the .htaccess file below, and then all you have to do is have php make new directories in your root folder with the dynamic subdomain you want. Source

I could not agree more with you here. This is exactly the right way to start learning any new programming language in my opinion. When I wanted to start learning php, I bought a big PHP book, which was a huge mistake because I found that it never helped me learn anything. Like shadowx says, you need to sit down, and program something.

Interesting, another source, (funny that I can't seem to find it now), said that they are definitely not expansion packs and none of the games require any of the others to work. I'm assuming my source was incorrect. Thank you for clearing up that confusion.

You might want to double check your math there. You see he asked for free applications, and last time I checked the prices of Photoshop and Microsoft office are greater than free. You could check out Gimp. It's a free alternative, and it can do everything photoshop amateurs can do in photoshop. There are plenty of features that photoshop has that Gimp doesn't, but those features aren't known by the average user.

Yes, it would make a lot more sense if the games were expansion packs but all three games will be fully fledged games, not expansion packs, so you can see where my confusion comes in.
