  1. I dislike using IMAP because it doesn't have any of the amazing features the web version has like using labels instead of folders, and the great search algorithm used to find your messages, so at the moment I am using the web version, but I would love a dedicated gmail application that takes all the features of the web version to your desktop. Google actually has quite a few libraries to allow developers connect to google accounts. If anyone is up to helping me with it, I'd love to work on such an application.
  2. I have a domain with Xisto - Web Hosting that I've been paying for long before mycents, but now that I've got myCent's going into my account, I guess I'll have them pay for it. It works great! I have plenty of control of what I can do with it, and after having it for 3 years I have yet to see it go down.
  3. I think it would be easier to make a php page to load the html page you want to, parse out everything except the contents in the div, and then have flash load your php page. Perhaps if you were a bit more specific I could whip up a php script to do this for you.
  4. Please read all of the replies before posting. Here is my reply to someone who suggested the exact same fix:
  5. Sorry, I should have been more clear, the rules are the same for the original post, two +'s and two -'s, but here is a hint: operators can go on either side of the equation, not just the left side!
  6. Dead? Windows 3 was far from dead. Sure nobody used it for personal computing anymore but plenty of cashwraps, and other basic devices that were complex enough to run a windows OS used it. It is still used because of its stability and efficiency. Who needs a fancy GUI when ringing out inventory in a retail chain?
  7. Happy birthday dude!

  8. Happy birthday! I hope you have a good one!

  9. I'm not sure if you select "use google" when signing up for your website automatically sets it up or not, to check you can try to go to google and see if you get a login page. If it isn't already set up try this: After you have your web hosting all set up go over to this page, and follow the instructions. Google will ask you to upload a file to your website, among some other things, and you might have to mess with your domain settings (google will tell you what to do), but then it should be all set up.
  10. Nice googling skills xpress. Interesting puzzle, more along the lines of guess and check than actual math.... Also fairly easy to make, here's one that I just made up so google searching the answer won't work on this one: 2071965266=1508 EDIT: sorry about not being clear on the rules... Same rules as the topic starter.
  11. Google apps is amazing, and free. Unless you have a very specific use to pay for email hosting on your web server rather than having google host it for free I would recommend going with google. With Google apps you can have up to 100 users (each user will get his or her own email address and login credentials), but you can request for more with a good reason. But you can also have unlimited email lists and aliases which forward email to certain users so in reality you can have unlimited email addresses. You can read more about google apps here: https://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/

    Mccain

I completely agree with what you are saying. And I completely think other people should go out and vote, I'm merely posting my thoughts based on what I do. I think anyone who wants to vote should do so since if the majority didn't vote, then it could be a problem. However, if I change my mentality and decide to go out to vote next election it will not change anyone else's opinions. In reality it is very important that many people vote for the exact reason you listed there, and in no way am I intentionally discouraging people from voting. I was merely pointing out a fact that just because the topic starter's friend's parent's votes didn't get counted it really makes no difference.

I'm pretty sure I did just say that. Can you tell me what difference would it make if you voted rather than not voting? That's right, none. What difference would it make if you recruited one hundred thousand people who were going to vote one way, and you changed their views and now they are going to vote for another candidate? You might change half a percentage of the popular vote, and at most, maybe change a state one way or the other (if they are all in the same state and the state is relatively small), but in reality that won't make any difference who wins presidency, and also in reality I'd like to see you change the views of hundred thousand people.

I usually tend to stay away from political conversations because I get annoyed rather quickly at how inefficient and flawed politics in the US really is. I'm not sure if Mccain would have been better or not, they both have some pretty bad cons that would have made them both terrible choices. But what is done is done and there is no use ranting about it now, we're going to have to live through another 4 years of a terrible president and then we hope that next election the American public takes their head out of their a** and picks a decent president.

Does it really matter if your parents' votes weren't counted? Votes don't matter anyway, they don't change anything, so don't get so worked up about it. Also, Mccain, Obama, and Hillary all would and will bring this country to a whole new low. They are all terrible candidates and if I had a choice I'd make sure none of them won the presidency, but its too late. One of the terrible candidates won and the country is going to go to the dogs. So much for the USA, I think I'm moving to Canada.
  16. The way I like to look at dimensions as an infinite number of spaces in the previous dimension. In other words, if you look at the second dimension, it has two directions: width and height. If we have infinite two dimensional planes stacked on top of each other we get a new dimension, the third dimension which adds depth. Now if we take an infinite number of third dimensional spaces and "stack them" on top of each other they would extend off into the fourth dimension. Now you can't exactly picture it because we are used to only having 3 dimensions, but imagine an infinite number of third dimensions "stacked" on top of each other in some dimensional direction that we have never been presented with before. Now that all of these are different third dimensional spaces we can use these to represent time. (Think of a flip book for a second, you have a series of two dimensional drawings stacked on top of each other each representing a different moment in time)
  17. You don't, if you haven't noticed this topic is 4 years old, and it was just doesn't go down into the abyss of old Xisto topics since people like you (and me now thanks to this post) keep bumping it up.
  18. Have you ever asked for help or needed help? I'm sure all of the moderators on this forum would be more than happy to assist anyone who needs it.
  19. Quite interesting. I can understand how one would go about filling up a gmail account if you use it just to hold emails with attachments etc forever but you still have to be accumulating emails for quite some time for that to happen. The way I think google should handle storage is give a certain amount of storage for free per account, and have all google services use that storage, Picasa, gmail, google docs, google pages, etc... and then they could offer just cold storage, the ability to ftp to your google hard drive space, (and yes I know about the firefox extension that allows you to use your gmail account as a hard drive). If they did this they probably would be having more people buying space, at least I certainly would be.
  20. This is awesome. I've been using "meh" as a word almost every day and I am usually taken aback when someone is confused what it means. Perhaps now when someone argues that I'm making up words I can tell them to go look it up in a dictionary.
  21. I already shared my opinions in the other google chrome topic. I think it's a great thing that google is doing, creating a stable browser without a ton of bulk/addons. However I really would have loved to see better integration with your google account.
  22. Hmm thats interesting, I remembered all versions of os x doing png. I know in Tiger the default screenshot type was stored in a plist in your preferences folder, but I can't seem to find it, I assume Apple got rid of it. I'll look around some more and see if I can't find a solution to this.

    Dhruv Here

Hello Dhruv and welcome to Xisto! It's great to see another member here contributing to our community. Oooo a riddle, I love riddles. Let's figure this out. Ok, two digits: so you are between the age of 10 and 99. Starting with 1: you are between the age of 10 and 19. But not adult yet: So you are between the age of 10 and 17 There is a flaw in this riddle! I can not deduce your real age without making an prediction based on your post. You, sir, are not an adequate riddle writer... ...If you haven't been able to tell, I was kidding.
  24. Hello HusH- and welcome to Xisto! So is your website plans up to schedule? Will we be able to see it tomorrow (the 18th)? I hope you return and share it with us because we love to view, explore, and review websites of other members. I hope you return to these forums and continue posting here, right now it looks like you may have been too busy to post, however your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
  25. I suppose so but I've never seen blizzard working on 4 major games at once and announcing them all to the public. I feel a bit overwhelmed. I don't know which game to be excited for, and as a result I may only end up buying one of them.
