  1. My local shop assembled it. But my friend, on the other hand. Bought a branded one since he don't believe in the local shop(No matter how hard I convinced them)For free Anti-virus, I recommend avast! Home Edition. It's really good, which I believe to be alot better than Norton which has subsribtion fee.
  2. You think a 8mbps is slow? I'm on dial-up before my area has just been covered by this really bad ADSL company which suscribing at more than 512kbps is a waste of money!I lives in thailand
  3. I use HTML Kit to edit pages. I don't like notepad, it can't properly manages unix-type line breaking, thus I can't edit files downloaded from the internet. Go for HTML Kit if you don't have much(any) money!
  4. I have photoshop 7 and I don't even bothered with it. But the work is cool when my friend did it though. (Mine is rubbish)
  5. Try using System Restore if you haven't disabled that. But I workaround is (of cause) to map it to a different drive
  6. WindowsBlind is not a way to make XP themes. WindowsBlind uses it's own theme, which is not compatable with M$ theme. But windowsblind make "GREAT" themes though. It eats quite alot of resources
  7. Norton was reccommended by alot of PC-speacialist to users.(in my country) But I prefer avast anti-virus. It doesn't require those BIG files for updates. It doesn't come up and urge me to update it. It just update it's self and SAYS(in voice) "Your virus database has been updated". I reccommend this to anyone with dial-up and doesn't want to wait for long updates
  8. Try inserting a "non-automated" (standard) slipstreamed with the service pack you have. And try a "repair" install (It should come up with a list with "Windows XP Professional (Or home)") And the list comes up right after the "Detecting Any Previous Version of Windows" on the progress bar
  9. TCP/IP is not a problem. They both can access the net from the same connection right? Make sure they're in the same working group. And the correct routing table.ps. Are they connected to the same routor?PPS connected to different router=Broadcasting doesn't work
  10. The reason games don't like win200 in the old day is because they aren't design for them. Who would use winnt in their home? Microsoft design nt for networking environment. But also sees it as a more stable system, thus creating XP. Microsoft removed advanced networking capabilities from WinXP home to prevent it to be used in professional environment.
  11. I own and use photoshop 7. I don't like the CS(s). It eats too much resources on my computer. It's pretty old and photoshop(s) alway eat resources
  12. Register a domain and make sure it comes with a dns. (Or use Xisto hosting which comes with SMTP mail). Or if you want your own server use apache & sendmail.Good Luck!
  13. BartPE tries to emulate M$ invention called WinPE. WinPE is used in Vista(Longhorn) install. But BartPE is used for recovery. I always have to put my BartPE cd into my cd-rom drive once in a while. I also use linux but hasn't boot it often(I'm a gamer lol)
  14. It is enabled by default in windows xp! One of the thing m$ done right
  15. Also, you said it's quite old. I assume you have a sound card. Dos would probably run on it with a music player! Not the most GUI friendly one though!P.S. Another the choice. 98lite "micro" mode assuming you have win95 disk
  16. I like linux and I use vim to edit php file.
  17. There aren't any availible for download. But I should be easy to make a fast music OS out of linux. Use gentoo(or debian) and only have alsa, X-window system and your favourite linux music player installed. Use commandline auto-login. Make X start by default and make your music player start by default. How to do auto-login paste this code in a c file and change "your_use_here" to your user. int main() {execlp( "login", "login", "-f", "your_user_here", 0);}Compile the code with a c compiler. and use root privilege to put it in /usr/local/sbin.After that use root privilege to edit /etc/inittab. on the line that says 1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty somenumber tty1 or 1:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty somenumber tty1followed by where somenumber is some numbers.add -n -l /usr/local/sbin/autologin before the number so you should get 1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty -n -l /usr/local/sbin/autologin tty1or-n -l /usr/local/sbin/autologin How to auto-start x open ~/.bash_profile for editing and add if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ] thenstartxfi

    Joomla Help

Fantastico only have Mambo. I'm pretty sure lumpic installed it him/her self. Make sure you typed the correct password. If not sure calculate the md5sum of your password and compare it to the one in the database. Or easily try to reinstall joomla!(Delete the database & Reupload the installation files)PS: The admin page is joomla_root/administrator
  21. I use dreamweaver to developsite. I use Firework for graphic. I use Flash for something "flashy". As far as I know Dreamweaver and Firework integrates. And Photoshop doesn't integrate to anything(It hasn't got anything to integrate to).
  22. Try reinstalling iTune. What type of music are you trying to play. I use iTune and it just work fine. Maybe iTune file is corrupted.

    Video Converter

tmpgenc is a good converter. The best one. But for a more user friendly one I recommend Superacconverter. It's user friendly but lacks some quality. If you're experienced use tmpgenc
  24. I've seen a MAC, my friend got one. I got some chance to use it. It's doens't freeze and it's doesn't need a restart every hour. And finally, it looks much better than windows in mac theme.(A little better than KDE+Baghira)

    Usb Ports?

Inspiron, that what we're all discussing. We knew it has all that shape but the proplem is that the USB is just a little bit too wide. It's not a mini-usb and an A-type usb.
