Making the lazer beam realistic... hmm...There should be a fade effect at the edges... If your talking bout the circle thing that comes up, then make the circle a perfect one... and if it is the Lights ( straight line like thing at the very end ), then just make it bright and flashing.. The fading like effect at all the edges is a must . I guess. :S

I agree with lhunath.ONE LINERSWhile you might say, some posts ( one liners ) may convey your entire point, but in 95% cases, it is not possible. Most of the times, members are expected to explain the things while they post at the forums. But, as you can see, we have always stressed more upon the word MEANINGFUL. The post should be meaningful and must express your OPINION or POINT clearly. COPYING OF POSTSAs far as Copying of the post is concerned, the argument can go on and on... Because there is simply no way to prove openly that the user at that forum and the one posting here (at Xisto) are the same persons. And even if it does, we would still not allow it because, legally it still means copying. Xisto, however tries its level best to be on its safe side and all the posts remain copyrighted to their respective owners. We do not take responsibility about the content posted here at our forums.Besides, One more important point to be considered is that the RULES have been made so strict because most of the members do tend to spam just for getting Hosting. Unlike the other forums, many member at Xisto post just to aquire a hosting account. We have referred Xisto.com to many members who cannot post properly or who find it difficult to participate at the forum topics here at Xisto.Well, complaints can go on and on... Let me add a few more on which many people usually complain. The rule for staying active. ( applicable only for members who have a hosting account )It is quite possible that a member is inactive for some time due to some reasons. But most of the times, members take an advantage of this fact. Well, some might say, they met with an accident and then they might blame us for deleting their account or so. The common fact is, even if you had a paid hosting, then you would had propbably lost your hosting due to delayed payment or stuff. And If the data you are hosting is so important, I guess, Paid hosting is must for you. All we require is that you come to our forums periodically and Make a couple of posts which might help this forum and our community.Most of the times accounts are suspended and then after a week or so, they are terminated. We also give option for advertising supported hosting incase a member wishes to keep his account active without posting for a specific amount of time.Also, at Xisto we give out dedicated BW and we allow our members to access or upload anything ( provided it is legal ). At Xisto, huge files are not allowed and there are hosting restrictions which are imposed on every account. But here, none have been imposed. This is because, Xisto was made for those members who have a lot of knowlege and experience to contribute. There have been issues of MySQL downtimes.. but the main reason is that some members are trying to experiment stuff.Some of the recent cases . 1> A member tried to send 50,000 emails ... while most of them were duplicate. I guess, to screw up the server. I had to delete his account.2> Some one tried to put random stuff into mySQL database, and he put it into an infinite loop. That caused mySQL to HOG up since it was expected to execute unlimited queries.. The tmp size was filled and SQL was down.3> Someone also tried to abuse JSP/ Tomcat which is THE MOST ADVANCED feature we provide, at the same time, it is also processor intensive. It was abused and the server went down completely. we had to restart the server to get things back to normal. 4> and there are many more such cases..All I would request members is that, Please dont experement things or scripts on my server. well,due to spamming, the search results are being affected day by day. The google bomb thing also proved that google can be screwed ... Sometimes, teoma and alltheweb.com yeild better search results than google. Frankly, the pagerank technology is a very **** technology. Even though it is good at getting some nice sites on top, imagine, you with a large group created a whole big site on a single breed of a mosquito. Even though you will be providing a **** load of information, people wont find your site because a 20 year old web - PAGE has got 2000 links to it. While you being a newbie got only one or two.The page rank thing seems to favor the people who are on the internet from a very long time. what do you say ?

But I am sometimes afraid of the fact that google is trying to take over the web. The got a monopoly and they have powers to induce rules. Lets take a simply example of Google Adsense advertisements, Now, I have been disabled many times. I created about 7 ids on diffrent names and address but finally they disabled it. The reason was practically ****. They said, that invalid clicks have been detected.I dont understand, when I havent clicked the ads then what is point in disabling my account. The worst part is that, they really do not give proof or explanation. Nor, I have recieved any specifc dates on which I got those invalid activity , nor did I recieve any reports from google. I think, I got a right to have them. The thing thats sucks is, they say that if they encounter any illegal activity, they give a warning mail first. Well, out of 8 accounts, I recieved warning mail only for the first time and I never got any warning email at all. They simply disabled the account in one stroke.After one month, I got my account disabled. Well, I gave google an average of 25,000 impressions a day and my CTR was about 0.1% ( too low ). Even though I had made arrangements for people to <- snipped -> I had never enforced them or I hadent warned anyone regarding it. I would like to see a tough competition for Google. So, they stop these acts. If google adsense had a very tough competitor, they would have thought twice before disabling any account, but since there is no one in the market, they are not enjoying the upper hand and happily crushing web publishers and webmasters. If I hadn't had these other advertising sources, I would have been compelled to shut down. [ may be this reply needs to be shifted to another appropriate topic relating to adsense or google ]}

I used the MSN search today and here are the things I liked to point out.MSN search does not seem to give high preference to domain names while most of the other search engines do. For eg. Searching for a non-english keyword Xisto should have resulted in Xisto.com in the first place but instead more preference was given to another websites which were linking to Xisto.This could had been fine with some other keywords which had some meaning in english language, however this point was like one of the most downside of msn. Because, most of the msn searches are triggered by the web browser itself ( internet explorer ) and many a times, mistyped domain names or keywords should be searched for and corresponding domain names should be returned.This also has negative effects. There are many domain names which correspond to commonly used search keywords. Like free web hosting, I think there are more than 50 sites whose domains have these words in it. But, in such cases msn can do an advanced filtering to see which domain actually has a lot of info regarding the keywords and it can return the results.Second flaw, The search results are not sorted in page numbers so if you are going to find search more and more pages, you will have to rely on the Back and Next search links. That is rather crappy.Third, It takes a very long time before your site appears in MSN search. I really hate this fact. Google includes any site with in a week and starts showing its indexed contect within a month or two. While most of the search engines including msn take about 6-7 months. I dont know. wtf takes them such a long time. I hope the new msn search will take pretty less time to index sites.Also, the web site description returned by msn search is simply extracted from the title tags which may be good in some cases but most of the people ( when using frontpage ) forget to put that . And I saw some pages with descriptions of no more than 3 words. While the best way for extracting description would be get the highest keyword which occurs throughout the page and then extract a text of about 100 words which includes that keyword. I had used this method when I had created a search engine in perl ( a text file driven Search :-). MSN search definately requires a lot of improvement.Please post your suggestions and comments . ...
