  1. Most people often find it difficult to concentrate on two things at the same time. But people like cab drivers, who's been driving over 40 years every whole day would tell you they can drive from one point to another blindfolded with their hands behind their back (It's sarcasm, don't try this in any vehicle). Talking on the cell is just splitting that full concentration you have on the road. What makes it worse is that radios that you turn on also splits that concentration you have and at the same time ENCOURAGE you to dial whatever number for some "lottery" of sorts or answer questions and win money etc. Driving, talking and dual listening (one on radio and one on phone) just doesn't work out.
  2. My personal opinion on any type of WYSIWYG editors are that they completely suck no matter how powerful or how many features they have. The reason is because there is never that complete, coding freedom when you're working with programs like Dreamweaver. Whereas when you're working with pure HTML code, it gives you all the power you want. Yes, I've worked with Dreamweaver before. Back when it first came out, I was still using Frontpage for some basic web design. A couple of my friends told me creating frames with Dreamweaver is way much easier than Frontpage. So tried it and yes it IS way much easier. But guess what? Nobody knows what's behind all that. All anyone knows when they use Dreamweaver is that they make this horizontal/vertical line that runs through the page and you can add stuff on either side as if the frame itself is a separator. Well technically it is, but the whole concept of frames is joining 2 sites together, not splitting one site which is the point Dreamweaver is giving its users. There are some, who might ignore the WYSIWYG part of Dreamweaver but use its coding feature. I still find it fairly annoying to half-way through get like an auto-fill. Dreamweaver also has a specific layout for its codes but i prefer to do it my way and i think my way is much neater. Overall, Dreamweaver could still be considered one of the best Website builders you could find in the market but with raw HTML, you could do way much more and learn it in the process.
  3. YES! Now i could go "In yo face!!" at my cousin for saying there has been no known viruses for Macs at all. Still, it took a fairly long time for some hacker to have bothered to make a virus for the Mac. I don't see how it can be any more difficult than creating a virus for Windows. OSs are OSs, you can never change them. Its popularity that "gives" them the viruses. I've heard in BBC lately that Apple computers had a bug that hackers could tap into and basically hack the Mac with it. Apple "believes" that there has been no viruses out there yet that target the bug and is working on fixing it. I wonder what more problems would arise with the Mac...
  4. I signed up after seeing the generous amounts of compliments given for this site. It seems, that as long as you're active, you're gaining gold 1 at a time. Problem is, there is really no ultimate goal to this except sitting around and chatting. I feel its even worse than neopets. (Ah...the old neopets days...) I would recommend this though, for people who like to use sites like Friendster a lot and want something else to do except talk to people.
  5. I don't think the colors a problem and Ebbinger's really getting the hang of non-grunge sigs. It's really turning out superbly well. All the sigs are neat (literally) and pretty good color combinations. Now that i think about it, you might wanna make those sigs a little brighter to give them a "jig" of light into them to make it more appealing. Otherwise, i think its great
  6. I won't exactly call it a problem because it isn't now but used to be. OK so i bought my Linksys PCI adapter in Singapore so my sis could use the internet at the same time as i am. But it couldn't detect the (I'm guessing" weak signal emitted from my cheap router. My computer (Which isn't using the linksys adapter) uses a cheap external wireless adapter the same brand as the router and it connects perfectly. When i called linksys to ask why it didn't work, they told me its because the signal is very weak and when i tried like nudge it a little it connects for like a second before it fails. So nevermind...i just wasted my money (You can't return goods in Singapore)Now in U.S., i buy a linksys router and using a motorola cable modem. This time its supposed to be the linksys adapter (I brought it over from Singapore) that would be favored, not my Compex (The cheap brand) external wireless adapter. Surprisingly, my compex external adapter connected to the linksys router perfectly with "Excellent" written. I tried it out with my linksys adapter and of course it worked but the connection would always show as "Low" or "Good" never "Excellent" or "Very Good" or somewhere around that. Also, when i set up my linksys router, i have to set it to "Wireless B only", not "B and G". My linksys adapter uses G while my Compex adapter uses B. My linksys adapter could switch to B anytime though. If i put the setting as "B and G" my compex will not connect. But my linksys one will but with still a "Low" connection. So really what's the problem here? I don't think its a matter of rooms because the router is in the room right underneath the computer with the linksys adapter while my compex adapter is a little further away. Thanks!
  7. I rated it 4/5. It's not exactly bad if you actually start to play it and understand everything in it except looking at the crappy graphics and Xing the browser. To my opinion, even though Runescape has poor (yet reasonable) graphics, the number of activites you can do is tremendously way more than any other game I've played with better graphics. I played Runescape for 3 years so i basically saw through its "Evolution". Especially when it was still Classic and the graphics was the worst ever but back then (5 years before) it was actually superb as it was one of the only games on the net like RO that you can play on the browser. So yeah....not a bad game..but after awhile, well everything just starts to get very repetitious.
  8. True...i haven't seen much more new sigs from Reaver or SM either... I think its because the majority of the folks around here don't focus too much on design but more on coding and all that stuff. Like if i designed a sig and wanted more comments on how to make it better, I'd post it on GFXvoid or a similar forum. You get what i'm saying? Though i really don't want to leave asta for Trap...I recognize more people here and i could never forget my 2 year memories with Asta
  9. Sweet sigs. I like the second one. The second person (one below) looks like the reflected image of the top person...except it isn't (I know i sound weird here.. ). The 3rd one is simple but enough to say all about how you love smiley faces . Sometimes the simplest of things are the best of things. And don't say people in Asta are losing interest in sig design! I'm still a sig designer and always will be (as a hobby of course) except because of school most of my sigs have been delayed and half-done all the time. I feel very disappointed now that i can rarely finish a sig at all . Oh, and most sig designers go to trap. There's a whole forum there just for sig designers and most of the members there are pure talented in these type of designs...
  10. There are actually pop-ups? I didn't notice them at all . The layout is pretty crappy i agree but i found my way around it like in 5 minutes. The plus on this is that you don't need approval or anything all you have to do is refer this to your friends, ask them to click and close it. My idea was to place this on my site within an iframe like at the bottom of my page so new people will always see it and i will get a hit. Is this legal?EDIT: You know what? This site is totally bogus! I just hacked the site in what? 2 minutes? Ok maybe i didn't really hack it. All i did was reset my modem. I'm using a dynamic IP address system -.-
  11. Sorry this may be a little out of topic but is it just me or can i not see the banner at all? The same thing happens when i go to this site: https://www.hidden-street.net/ Here are some of the screenshots: Anyone had any idea whats wrong? Maybe i should ask this someplace else to get some attention? It works on my other computer but not this one. Weird... Thanks to anyone who could help me! oh yeah and my review for your site: I like the template overall but it needs a little more color than shades of gray. I haven't seen the logo banner yet (because of my stupid problem ^) but for now, i think maybe you should change the color to a green or blue maybe? Blues are soft to the eyes and people notice blue more than gray.
  12. You know...this topic is extremely old now and it seems that it have been going on for almost a year. ROSEonline just turned pay-to-play so that's out of the question. Gunz is still free and its OK except I've never seen a single update to the game at all. Right now I'm playing MapleStory Global. They've updated so much i haven't gotten bored yet. and they don't stop there! A new world is coming out in like a few weeks or so maybe even a month but it's way worth the wait. What makes me like the game even more is that it is completely free. It bases its income on cashshop items which almost all the players buy. You use real money to buy stuff out of the cashshop. What makes it so good is that even if you don't get anything out of the cash shop, you can still be the best in the game. So its fair chance for everyone in the game instead of Runescape's "members-only" items and skills. I'm pretty surprised no one has mentioned Rakion yet. It's run by the same company as Gunbound but personally, i don't see any relationship between Gunbound and Rakion at all. Rakion is all 3D and you do skills by pressing a combination of buttons either on the mouse or keyboard. You can collect cells to summon monsters (I think this is right...haven't played much). You basically combat other players and its like Gunz in a way. It doesn't run well on my computer though. I have to turn off Norton Anti-virus or it'll hang and if the game gets too laggy, I'll lag out of the game - not very nice .
  13. Feel sorry for you Dhanesh.. I had the same feeling too when i tried to sign up. But back then i was still too young to take paypal (I was 12 ) Now I'm 15 and my mom allowed me to sign up for one with her name. But looking at my website...i don't see much of a professionality to it and my hits vary from like 3-10 a week? . So well i guess i'll keep working on it like you do. Google must have like a whole 1000 people team who review these websites to get them accepted or approved. The email they sent you must be a template. Hope you're able to get approved next time!
  14. Like everyone else had said , yes your first pic could use a little more add-ons to make it look...well how would i call it... "real"? The second one is fabulous! I could never do anything like that even WITH a tutorial . The photo editing pic is excellent. I see you've learned to use the toolbar very well. One other tool that might come in handy often later on if you want to move on to photo editing is the rubber (New versions call it Clone) stamp tool. It enables you to copy a certain part of a picture to another area of the canvas. Works excellent if you want to copy the skin of one part of the pic over the pimples instead of using too much gaussian blur to make it look unrealistic. Your lassoing worked REALLY and i mean REALLY well. Had you really used a freehand lasso to remove the background? I always use magnetic lasso with 100% frequency for photoediting. Excellent job! (And i know you pyost. Don't say you haven't done anything like this before in PS !!! )
  15. Well just recently I've joined this site refered to me by a few of my friends. The way it works is that you sign up, give them your paypal account email, and they'll give you a URL. You can put the URL anywhere you want and everytime anyone clicks it, you get HC$10 which is their currency. Each IP can only donate HC$10 to anyone once every 30minutes. How they pay you is that they take like the total amount earned by all their members and then they calculate your percentage of the total amount earned. Let's say you have n hits which resulted in having 3% of the total amount, then you get 3% of the amount they've earned (after they've subtracted the amount the company are supposed to get themselves). So far i haven't had any payouts yet but i think this is something really interesting to consider. They've got a HUGE community of members in their forums that believe in their service. I'm still at 22 hits though =( I've seen others with like 180 hits already. I will post again when i find out how much i got compared to my hits. You can sign up here at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. It's really simple and all you have to have is a paypal account. Enjoy! =)
  16. In my opinion, paying for monthly for any game is a total waste of money. Never once had i paid a single cent for any online game (except for my monthly internet bills of course) and I've never bought "digital" stuff online, for example: Downloading a trial and activating it. I do support games such as MapleStory or Runescape that doesn't exactly force you to pay. Instead, you pay to get more of the game itself and that's exactly what MS and RS has in common. I've had friends payed for 3 months on RS and never grew tired of it. You had way much more skills and things to do and there are practically TONS of quests to take on that you won't just get done by collectings items and talking to people. Habbo though, is an exception as the whole game itself is a trial. What's worse is that you don't pay once and get everything. You pay once for EACH of everything. Even after you've paid for it, whats the whole point? All you're looking at are people dancing and walking and talking. There is no real meaning to the game at all. No goal nor aim. Compared to real life where you get to socialize with friends face-to-face and do all sorts of activites, I'd say I'd rather take on the homework, chores and everything negative with real life than obsess myself with a monitor screen.
  17. Agreed, this is a real problem. Even if the cure has been tested and ceritifed to be safe, negative side effects that are unknown yet even after the tests may start showing up 10 years after the HIV patient is treated. This problem with most "cures" are that the compound for destroying the virus stays within the body. If it comes out naturally (You know what i mean), then it won't be much of a threat. Then again, we have to consider the cost value of the compound. Unlike anti-biotics like penicillin which are bacteria (I know penicillin can't get rid of HIV )so they reproduce in large amounts, compounds have to be made using all kinds of scientific techniques and the ingredients within the compound might be something rare. Undeveloped countries will not be able to afford these types of treatment and even these days, Southern African governments (with countries that has the highest HIV/AID rates) don't bother with spending money on treating these people and the affected suffer. Some uneducated people may not know that they are host to an STD and may pass it along to another. I sure hope this new cure is really not another hoax to get people excited. Although i believe other scientists have also invested alot of their time and effort to study the virus and announcing a possible cure might be motivation to continue furthur their research
  18. Sorry for double posting but the source from where you could read up more on is here: https://support.google.com/chat/answer/161934?hl=en Any mods care to help me join this up with the top post? Gladly appreciate it!
  19. Can you believe it? Gmail has stunned us yet again with another amazing tool. They've incorporated instant messaging within the browser itself! And yes i know there are already such things as AIM's AIM Express but this is special due to the fact that there's no special plugins required (i think) and all you need is an up to date browser. For FireFox users all you need is a 1.0 version or higher browser and IE users must use a 6.0 version or higher browser. This latest addition to Gmail will i believe help those school kids out there chat instantly with friends without downloading anything and no teacher will suspect the word "Gmail" on the minimized window anything suspicious. (Hint: Tell the teacher you're saving your work to your email so you can work on it more at home XD) Yet if you have "AIM Express" its off to the administrators for you! At the moment, Gmail's chat feature doesn't allow chatrooms or anything like its "Google Chat" program, but it's said this is just the beginning and more additions will come shortly in time.Just to give ya'll and update, Gmail's storage is up to 2692mb now. By this year's end it should be up to 3gb!! I don't know what's keeping all my friends from joining gmail, choosing AIM instead. Even if suddenly Gmail becomes "officially" released and you have to pay for it (IF!!) I'll definitely pay for it. What i would like for gmail to do though, is have this little tool where you can obtain emails received from other email hosts. (Like hotmail or yahoo) that way i don't have to check all of them. So what do you think? Anyone's got the feature yet? I know i haven't.
  20. Thanks Ebbinger but i haven't been really active on sig designing lately and even if i have, none have really turned out as great as this 2nd sig. I agree that what you said about my usage of the pen tool to make the background looked pretty awesome but trully, all i did was click-drag, click-drag and so on till i get a good pattern. Afterwards i believe it was difference clouds and some other filter which i forgot XD. Right now I'm more or less struggling to keep with straight As in school because i just moved up to Gifted classes and they're tough. I'll try to see if i could spare some time designing more sigs to improve myself. Again thanks for all the comments. You guys have been great!

    Maplestory

Yes you can though i haven't played it for awhile. I remember though, that you have to click the symbol for male (Which is like a + sign on top of an "o") to change from female to male characters. It's quite fun actually...though i really have a strong "hatred" for turn-based games. Realtime is so much better. MapleStory is fun. I have a lvl35 cleric before but quit coz there were better games like Guild Wars. Then i joined again when Guild Wars got boring and all the other MMORPGs i used to play went from free Beta to p2p. I like the idea of MapleStory being free but you pay for the Cash Shop stuff. Kindof like Gunbound. Now i have a lvl37 lit mage and so far..because of the new additions and I'm (hopefully) going to buy something out of the Cash Shop so yeah...
  22. Sweet tutorial. But why do all these userbars have the same design all the time? As in with the transparent eclipse across the userbar and the diagonal striped lines? I mean it looks great and cool but its like ipods. Where the circlular navigation pad on it is what makes it so "hipp" and everyone thinks its cool. I guess that applies to this too?
  23. Apple is really pushing it this time. Their Macs are just getting cooler and more functionable. Of course, most people who don't exactly follow the rules of their operating systems wouldn't like Macs at all. But the Mac looks very unique to me as it is simple and everything just seems like a dream with Macs. Using a Mac, it seems like nothing will go wrong when using it unlike Windows systems where you're always waiting for a virus to come along. Now with intel "inside", people like me would consider getting a Mac in replacement of the much hoping Windows Longhorn as Windows is really not living up to their name anymore. You tell me who made the first practical, visual computer - Apple 1?
  24. It looks interesting, yes i agree. But who would deny that Google has most of the features YubNub has? Of course you wouldn't be able to split screens with Google and technically YubNub USES Google to make its searches but i don't see any need for split searches. Even old fashioned searching for images through a normal web search works fine with me. At first sight though, i thought YubNub sounded something like "Friendster" kindof service. I guess the program will work with most other people but the most simple of things are usually the best correct?
  25. These days, text messaging are way much more common among teenagers than just plain "calling". I have no idea whats so cool about it (Even though I'm a teen myself ) and who wants to spend 10 minutes "typing" up some stupid message (like 5318008 ) to friends and send them off like 10 cents at a time when you can invite everyone over and have a good laugh over jokes that would cost nothing. Back when i was in Primary school (or elementary) no one had any communications devices and i guess it was the start of the "hotmail"-fluenza because everyone was basically hooked up to Runescape and hotmails. There was no need for cell phones even though they were already out. Today, i see kindergardeners carrying little cells themselves. Those advertisements that actually try to target parents who don't want their kids to hold real cells NEVER work and the company knows that. Firstly, the phones are expensive, and secondly which teenager would willingly take the cell phone that restricts them so much they can't add people into their phone book these days? They'll be the laughing stock of the school! As Sarah had said, today, everyone is always available 24 hours. My friends away messages on AIM always have something similar to "Out, cell me @770-bla-bla". Cell phones are taking over the world and sooner or later in the near future everyone would have a little chip in their brains enabling them to IM anyone in the Earth.
