Does This Template Takes A Lot For Load?
jlhaslip replied to MIGUE2k7's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Here is a link to a web-based analysis tool which might be helpful. -
Very nicely done on the Layout. I agree that the last word is a bit weak, but just shows what can be done with "less than state-of-the-art" technology. You don't always need the newest and best software to do what you need to.Overall, an excellent job.

Have you tried downloading OpenOffice to see if this problem goes away using it? As Saint Michael suggests, try to eliminate some load from your machine and re-try. Failing that, check to see if you could upgrade your machine by adding some more RAM. And be careful using Word to create (x)html documents. MS proprietary code gets all over the code you write and the file type must be monitored. You would be better off using something like Context, atext editor specific to coding. Google on it.

Black & White Tag Stock Editing
jlhaslip replied to itsmyard's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Pretty cool. I always liked the "classic" photo genre of pix. Jasper_IK has some good ones, too.I think the black border is a bit drastic. Could you lighten it to a mid-grey to see if it changes the appearance of the sig? Just a suggestion. -

This One Takes The Cake - Dumped For Another Girl
jlhaslip replied to seddy's topic in Dating And Relationships
No, I am sure know it has happened before. I doubt it makes it any easier for you, but that's a fact. Treat it as a break-up. Don't punish yourself with the same sex thing. Live your life and let it be.... the sooner you move on, the better off you will be with all that has occurred. Good Luck. -
Should We Legalize Drugs? your thoughts?
jlhaslip replied to tdktank59's topic in General Discussion
Legalizing it and then placing a tax on it won't work. It will continue to be a Blackmarket product in order to avoid the tax. -
It is important that you stick to the Topic at hand. Your warning level is 0% meaning no warnings have been issued to you. That is a good thing. This Topic is for Topics which discuss Pop-ups and Pop-under advertising insertions. If you go to a site and when you leave the site there is a browser page asking if you want to buy something, that is a pop-under. Pop-ups cover the page you are attempting to view. This page ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) uses pop-unders and I visit there once a day. You should too. The annoying pop-ups are often selling Compter stuff like registry cleaners and anti-virus removal tools, etc. The annoying things that nobody likes.

A better method would be to start a Polled Topic. This Topic Closed.

Asp is for windows based servers. This is a Linux based facility.Short answer to the first part is "no".Second part can be answered by clicking on the link in my signature for the Xisto readme file. There is a cpanel tutorial in there. Please use the Search feature instead of asking questions which have already been answered thousands of times in the Forum.Thank you for your co-operation.

The credit script was created here at the trap by Opaque and is not an approved mod to the IPB Boards, so it is not available to the General public.

.htaccess Override Where the #%^ is httpd.conf located?
jlhaslip replied to gaea's topic in Web Hosting Support
The Apache httd.conf file would most likely be in an inaccesible part of the Server. I would guess that only the Admins (Opaque) would be able to alter that. And Google on .htaccess for a ream of sites which will assist with the htaccess stuff. -
British = English = a dialect which you American might understand

there is a somewhat Existentialist cloud hanging over these lyrics. The gist of the message would be that we had best enjoy what we are presently doing because in the BIG picture, each of us are but a very small component of the world. Father should play with son and enjoy that time now, because the world is moving and will pass this opportunity by.

That is a pretty large file size to use for a Logo/Banner. It took 9 seconds to download on my Cable connection. I can only imagine that it will be too large for many dial-up users. Once you have it on your site, do a check at this site: http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/. It will tell you all about the things you can do to make your site load faster.

Hi, welcome to the Trap.I noticed your postings over at Xisto and the reccomendation to try the Trap Forums rather than Xisto when you intro'd over there.I also think you will be better suited hereThose people at the Xisto Forums can be pretty technical.... nice, but techie. After reading your intro, I look forward to seeing some of your work. Good luck with the postings and you will be Hosted soon, I am sure. Please read the Xisto readme file for more information and, by all means, please do not Spam. It is all explained in the Readme and it doesn't take long to read it. There is a link in my siggy.

y=mx + bwhere m is the slope and b is the x-intercept offset. The slope of y=kx would be k.

I can't speak for all the mods, but I use some software to assist me, yes. It is a privately coded plagarism checker which is not available on the net and which I can not share with others. (trade secrets)

New Website Layout Suggestions...
jlhaslip replied to sylenzednuke's topic in Websites and Web Designing
It is working for me.Seems to have some table, font and lots of span tags in there still, so it isn't quite a css site yet, but a good start. Keep learning the css that will replace the tags I mentioned above. If you need any assistance, look (and search) the HTML Topics or the Tutorials Subforum. If you don't find an answer, post a topic and there are many html savvy members at the Trap that will assist you.Very nice looking site.Incidently, building and testing your site using Firefox and Opera is the best way to learn proper Css and avoid building in IE as you learn CSS since it is an older Browser and IE6 and earlier doesn't do a very good job with respect to "valid" css or html. Validate your code at the w3c.org site, too. It will find the improper tags and assist in your learning. A good reference site is the w3schools site. -
Try AVG. Google on it.
