Hiya Dolrich06!!!Nice to see you back, though I haven't exactly met you before or seen your around the forums before, as I'm quite new and you were probably already away by the time I arrived at the Xisto forums... anyway, glad to see that a former old member of ours has finally decided to come back to this forum!!!It just shows how good it is and all that. :lol:Wait, if did you mean a FREE freelancer web programmer, if so, then I'm in!!!
-
Yes, you can... I think you're talented at this. I'd like to see what you would come up with if you did actually gave a shot for that. Cheers... Now that you've said it, it IS a bit weird... not Sub title of "Free PHP Web Hosting", only the "PHP" hosting part. Doesn't Xisto host like, everything in all different technical languages including Javascript and HTML and all that? Or maybe it's just me... I don't really exactly know what the terms mean so the term "PHP" might mean all that... But it's actually quite good... The font? I'm guessing it's Courier?

Just like this? Well... they must've have a pretty strong motivation. I for one will probably give up after one day when I learnt that I had to learn programming on Python and all that to hack. But yes. hackthissite.com is actually a good site to start from if you really want to start hacking. Unfortunately they don't give you tutorials, just allows you to hack into the thing and their site, so you'll have to learn from the members there on the chat program, or cheat (that's what I did, which was dumb of me because I didn't know what I did after that), or learn from other websites... But that means that you can hack successfully and still not get caught, because it's legitimate!!! (I don't know about being government approved though...) Wow... that is just so cool!!! And they'll probably like: "What? What happened?" But yeah. I mean, if it's harmless and doesn't do any damage, then I don't think there's any harm in inserting a small virus like that. Just to have al laugh at and show off to your friends...

I think your banner actually looks better than the original one... well, just different, that is, but I prefer yours... :lol:Well, yours is more modern, and you can tell that it has something related and something to do with computers, from both the background, the two font choices, AND from your colour choice, while you really can't tell what Xisto is about from the banner that it is currently using now...I mean, it's all classic and everything, but it can be selling classical chocolate and no one will be able to tell...Good work!!!

I nearly missed this thread too... Actually, I missed in the New Posts section, but I just happened to find it on the New threads section. This is my NOT-SO-AMAZING entry:

Sorry people... I thought I'd take a rest from Xisto for a while, in case I have to get glasses or square eyes from sitting too long in front of the computer... But now I'm back and ready to reply!!! Ah... so that means that I CAN work on my blog without having to put it online first. That's great!!! ...right? So let me get this right. So it's just self hosted, and it doesn't require Xisto or any other hosting company to host it up for you. But because you don't have (well, I don't) all the hosting equipment required to host your site, it will only display your site in the browser, like the IDEs (Apatana and Dreamweaver and such) but they don't have all the other functions behind it, like Databases for usernames (I won't need that), FTPs to download them as a backup site in case your site goes wrong or anything. So in short, a WYSIWYG editor (even without the WYSIWYG part) just lets you work on the "cover" on the front page, like a book, but it doesn't do anything behind it, like all the technical and geeky stuff to load your website up, and have usernames and such. So, in a nutshell... if I want a community and a non-static website, I will need a "-AMP" software, and if I just want to work on the appearance and what it looks like, I will need a Notepad or a SimpleText (on a Mac) or those WYSIWYG softwares... OK... I don't need that one. But I won't take it off my computer just in case I need it... apparently it's quite good. People in other forums were talking about it when I searched the web.,, So, it's just basically the same thing? Except that it just installs different parts? Hmm... OK. So, what does XAMPP stand for? Or is it only the AMP part? Maybe it was just waiting for me to put in the Wordpress files... No, if I asked you to do everything, it would mean that I won't be learning anything at all, and should you ever not come back for some certain reason, then I'll be stuck with no one to help me, because if the other Xisto members ask what I've done, I will be like: "I don't know! Rvalkass did everything!!!" SO yeah... I'll ask you questions if I get stuck though... that is, if you're not sick of them already... Thanks.. that's know cleared and out of my head. Web based applications? So, you make PROGRAMS with them??? Like, a word processing program like Microsoft Word? Huh??? Well... web based... so it's an online version of Microsoft Word? Yeah, they're really good. Especially the blogs that are about blogging (metabloggers do that). OK... I'm got XAMPP... so that's alright, I think. Wait. Apparently you can put Uniform Server on a USB stick, when you can't do anything with XAMPP. Hey, that's cool! I can work on it at school too... I'll download it down too and see how it goes... I've got a 250G Hard Drive, so it should be big enough, I hope... But then, can't you just drag the whole XAMPP folder and dunk it in your USB/Hard Drive?
-
Hmm... and it's a web server right? So I conclude that web servers allow you to take a look at your site before you upload it onto the Internet. That's exactly what I need. But if you look a the other thread though, I've just found out on the Internet that Apache HTTP is the best web server out there... for beginners too, I hope? Anyway... Yeah, I'll download KompoZer too... (Oh my god! KompoZer...Composer... geddit? - sorry, I'm very slow today...). Sounds like a great tool... OK, I'll put pictures in it too... and if it's a news blog on interesting news, should I like, post in it everyday? Or like, two times a week? I really don't know what the pace of a blog should be, and I know that posting either too frequently and too much, or too slow will lose your readers. What do you say? How long would you want my "interesting" news in your RSS feed? And for the psychic phenomemon... well, why not? I mean, it's my hobby, and I'm passionate about it. It's the main reason why I'm here in Xisto in the first place. But the thing is this... Should I make it both for skeptics and people that want to learn psychic abilities, or should I only make it for people that believe in it? Then it will all be about tutorials and the such... The thing is, since it's such a controversial topic (like politics, though not as much because people don't go assasinating each other...), people that are skeptics might give me bad comments if I only do it on tutorials on how to move things and do telepathy, but people might find it boring if it's only on tutorials. And if I do both, will maybe (and I said maybe) both sides will lash out, going: "Psychic Phenomenon is REAL!!!" "No! It's fake!!!" "Real!!!" "Fake!!!" You get my point... that's the main thing that I'm worrying about. And the second things is keeping up my hosting for two blogs at the same time. And the third? The commitment involved, and the fact that no one will read it after all that trouble...
-
Thanks for the tutorial... I've bookmarked this site so I can access it easily when I need to use it, maybe tomorrow when I more free. I just came back from a busy day today and it's pretty late already. I might only make one post on Xisto (this one) today, so I'll make sure it's a good one... But nice blog, puneye. If I can have a blog that's half as good as you're then I'll be extremely happy. And you have your own sponsors too!!! Already... I would say "lucky", though I'm not going to say that because it really doesn't have anything to do with luck at all... it is only the hard work and posts and the commitment that you have put into it that that reflects on it's achievement today... Can someone explain to me what webservers are? If they're not web editors (like Microsoft Frontpage, Dreamweaver and Aptana), then what are they? I think there are some FTP and mySQL and stuff files from Aptana too, so wouldn't that make Aptana a web server themselves? Also, I've done a research on the best web servers. Apparently the Apache HTTP is the best (yes, I did a search on the best web servers without even know what they are in the first place, and no definition or explanation from other sites have worked at all)... and most would prefer Xampp to WAMP, for some reason... lots of technical geeky terms being thrown about, so I really don't know the main reason... But yeah... thought you would like to know that lots of people uses Apache HTTP... Well, I'm on a Apple Mac Computer, so it might be a bit different. but when I press Start, it will (after a while of waiting), eventually turn the stop (the button I mean, not the actual program). Also, there is a red circle next to the words (FTP and mySQL and the such), and when I press start, and when it turns to "stop", the red circle turns green, though no "Running" appeared on my screen. But I'm guessing that the green circle means that everything is OK... Hey, you know the Wordpress blog you made for my to show me what a CMS was (I still haven't thanked you enough for that...)... is that a self-hosted blog that you install from Wordpress and then upload it on the sever? Like what I want to do now, except on a main domain and not on a page? How did you do that? You described it as, as I recall correctly: "It's very simple to set up, and only requires a few clicks...." Well, a few clicks for you might be a few days of hair-tearing, eyebrow shaving, and self-inflicting pain on myself for me, from all the technical stuff... But yes... Also, the "Blogging for Dummies" book that I've borrowed did have something on cgi-bins, which is one of the folders I see in the Xampp application, so it might have some information on that, though I don't have it here with me right now, so I'll have to check it up tomorrow... But I might download WAMP anyway for puneye and see how things go and which one looks better, I mean... simpler.

Wow... You've got such a cool room then. I would want to have a room like yours... you know, 36o degrees view and different levels, though, when you sleep of course, you might feel a bit vulnerable. especially if it's all glass around you and no solid, white walls that aren't transparent.I also like the way you've made the first lightning photograph black and white too. It looks nice. Good contrast, and the lightning (that is white, of course) contrasts with the black buildings...Once again, good job!!!
-
You took that?Wow...But there seems to be a difference in the buildings... maybe you took it from different windows? I mean, the first one is taken near ground window, it's level to the ground, the second seemed to be taken from a higher level, and the buildings look different, the fourth one seems like you are now on a lower level, also parallel to the horizon, and the last one even lower... and well, the buildings are way too flat to be in the same area as the first two building photographs...The others, well, no comment, because I can't tell...But they're all very proffessional photographs, I must say. I especially like the second one. Good lighting, but the skies a bit blurred... unless you wanted it to be like that. :lol:But I really don't think you took all that out from your room window... maybe in different room windows?

Hello waddle... How are you. You should've created a new thread so us members can welcome you properly... But anyway. Anyway, first things first. I would recommend you to go to sign up here, it's the Xisto's Billing and Support Centre. This is because Xisto is only a branch of the actual company, and if you want hosting you will need to sign up with the same email address as you did here for it to work. The email provide the link so when you post, the money, after you have earned 100 myCENTS, will be changed into real US dollars and deposited onto Xisto. And you can use the money to get your free hosting!!! Enjoy!!! (What you do is click "Client" on the left hand side bar and register there.) (No spamming though! Or copying and pasting!!! You'll get negative myCENTS if your posts are moved, edited or deleted!!!)
-
It's not very suitable, I agree.. but that was the best free one that I could find... Yes, Adsense will work, but I'll have to move everything to Wordpress and this hosting site (Xisto) first... and I can't do anything about it until two weeks later, and I am still finding ways of working on it before buying the service. I've downloaded both Xampp and Aptana, but I don't know how to use either of them, let alone knowing what they are actually for... I think Aptana is something similar to Dreamweaver, except for the fact that you have to code everything for yourself... Xampp? I've got absolutely no idea. I still don't know how Trackbacks work though. How can you tell if someone puts a link to your blog on their blog???
-
Sorry guys, I'm so very sorry to be wasting your time - again.New questions coming up about blogging... at least there will be more threads to reply to...OK, now, The Simpleton has suprisingly convinced me to move my blog over to Wordpress.org (the installation plug-in thing, not the free hosting platform service), and these are a few questions that I want answered...Someone (won't post names here, but I remember you) told me to install Xampp, so I can work on my blog offline (the templates and the widgets and stuff) before I buy the hosting package off from Xisto and Xisto, but now that I've downloaded it, I really don't know how to use it. When I open the application, there's a grey window with three "Start" buttons next to it, and the words that are next to the "Start" buttons (from top to bottom respectively) are: Apache, MySQL and FTP... now, I have a vague idea on what those terms mean, thanks to you people answering my other threads, but I really don't know what to do, because it doesn't do anything when I press "Start" on any of the buttons...Also, if I go to the folder with Xampp in it, and open another .php file, it will open in the Aptana Studio that someone else told me to download to make my website. Which is weird, because they are two completely different applications and things... I still don't really understand what Xampp is for, I know that Aptana is like a WYSIWYG website builder without the WYSIWYG function (meaning you have to code everything), but how does Xampp relate to Aptana?I'm just finding a way to work on my Wordpress site offline before actually buying the actual hosting package, so I can actually work on something before I go on a hiking camp where I will have absolutely no internet connection whatsoever, and because the first month of a site is very important, I intend to do that after the camp...Just a way to work on stuff off line and not hosted... Thanks.
-
Yeah... I'll export it out first and yeah. Logic Pro Package? I thought it would be best to get Logic Plan Basic for the first month or so first... you know, get everything set up and templates and stuff... will take a while because it'll be my first time. I would like it if it was a blog on my personal interest, psychic abilites in this case, but it's a pretty controversial topic on whether it exists or not and I'll eventually run out of things to say if I only do tutorials, and I'm not sure if people are interested in my personal development... I've read about Trackbacks... I still don't know how they work though. How can you tell if someone puts a link to your blog on their blog??? And vice versa?
-
No worries... :lol:Yeah, I agree... Xisto is starting to become a little bland with no good topics to write about... and that's not really a rambling... well, maybe to you, but my posts are usually longer, and half the page are with with my ramblings of occasionally going off topic now and then and then recollecting my thoughts together to finish my post. :PI don't think it's short at all though. People don't like very long article at all... like me, and I prefer short to long, as long as they have the same amount of information on them.

Which Was The First 3d Game You Ever Played?
Nameless_ replied to The Simpleton's topic in Computer Gaming
I swear, I have an obsession with whatever I'm on now... and I usually go off it after a while. So it's not healthy. I get on this game, play for 24/7 non-stop, find a new game on one of it's advertisments, ditch the original game, play the new game 24/7 non-stop... and start again... the cycle continues. I'm trying to stop this and stick to one thing. Believe it or not, I myself was off psychic phenomena myself, found a game, started the cycle, and then came here. And I'm back on psychic stuff. And I do not intend to stop this website thing I'm on right now, but maybe my Xisto need to post obssession... I really need to stop my short lived interests and get a long life one... -
Which Was The First 3d Game You Ever Played?
Nameless_ replied to The Simpleton's topic in Computer Gaming
I mean, I DID play games... just not anymore. Now all my free time goes to Xisto. It's a unhealthy obsession that I don't really like. It's like someone's putting a gun to my head and forcing me to come here when I really don't want to and I just want to have a day or two off Xisto. But I can't. I was just saying that the First 3D game that I have ever played is Runescape, and I think that it will be the only 3D game that I will ever play. So in short, I did reply to your question, didn't I? I don't know... gaming just seems like a waste of time to me, unless it's EDUCATIONAL gaming, of course... But that's just me. Anyone can have their opinion... -
No, Seriously, We Need A New Theme!
Nameless_ replied to The Simpleton's topic in Web Hosting Support
Oh... that is just horrible... (what Xisto used to look like, that is. Not the theme redesign. Now I know why half of the, I mean, ALL of the old memebrs are reluctant in changing the theme of Xisto... in case it looks worse than before. I must say though, the Xisto theme CAN be better. It does have space (a lot of space too) for refinements, but I understand if you want Xisto to stay the way it is now... I don't think and feel like it is my place to put a comment in this discussion anymore. It's up to the oldies, after all!!! -
No, sorry, not into anime. Actually, I'm like, against anime for personal reasons... my friends are like, all hooked and obsessed and watch them everyday... why waste your time when you could be doing something productive like being on Xisto and posting and creating or learning how to make a website???I really don't get that, I really don't...I mean, I know that it's very very easy to get hooked, and once you are, there is nothing that can save you, ever, nothing... apart from your own conscience. And I don't intend to go into that path. Which is why I didn't exactly have my own social networking profile like Facebook or Bebo or mySpace. I'm just not that into it, sorry.
-
I agree... that's pretty impressive. But I swear, if I was to give you my school's website you will have no problem in hacking it, it's just so crap, like one of those homemade sites. I reckon they should get a proper website designer and actually make it look pretty. I actually might give it to you in a PM if you want... But anyway... the big "G" that you're talking about is Google right? Wow, that's really really cool!!! I want to try that, but then again, maybe not. And this thread is really going out of topic... ...

$12 a year isn't hard... it's the monthly billing cycle that makes it hard... I do have a stash of myCENTS from not using it and very active posting... so I should be alright in an emergency. I was thinking of having at least $100 USD of spare cash just in case, and I haven't exactly reached that yet... Yeah, I do think that I'm a bit too active in the forums... not my first time. I can start as a newbie in the forums and suddenly go up the ranks to become the person with the most posts average per day and the most posting person of the day, which isn't all that good for my health if you ask me... And yes, I know it's a problem. I'm not even in my 17s yet, but still... but then, when I get to twenty I probably will be earning enough to keep my site up and running without even having to post... not that I want that. I would prefer a self hosting site and probably making a little profit for me to use in emergencies, like my little, I mean, big stash of myCENTS that I have now... And yes.. you're right. Hosting your own blog does seem better, and apparently in Google's Term of Service number eleven, there is a problem with copyright as they can distribute your work anywhere and everywhere, so that's a problem... But the question is now... now that I'm going to use myCENTS to host my site anyway, should I do a blog to earn money or just start on the website? Bu the way, I've created another thread somewhere (before I read this post) on what my website is meant to be about... Thanks so much!!!
-
OK!!! I think that it is time to put every thing down and let me think things clearly... I've had enough of my question posts so I'm posting here in the Ideas Section to show the Xisto community what I was meant to make and how I have gone away from that... It's the tell you people what I actually want and stuff... because I feel like my mind isn't working properly at all, with me going in circles and all that... Now, this was what I actually wanted to make (one of my websites out of the two). If you know me, I am very very interested in psychic phenomena and the study of psi, which a term coined for psychic phenomena. Now unsuprisingly, I want my site to be about psychic phenomenen, but I'll need your help. I was at first thinking about wanting it to be an experimentation thing, so people can experiment, and it runs roughly along the lines of this... Now, I will (let's say... ) put up a picture on my wall every Sunday or something, and every week there will be a group of people that will use their powers to 'guess' what the picture is about (or just a shape your something). I will draw up a chart of the probabilities of the results, and if more people got it right than what are chances of it are, then it means that this thing exist. Well, not technically 'exist', after all, you can't do that, you can only 'disprove' things in science, but you get my point. It makes psychic phenomena more valid with the experiments. But it might go wrong, of course, with the trend going the other way. SO I might experiment first and see how things go... But any way, I want to also make a psychic community where people can group together, because there aren't a lot of those out there in the internet, and I also want to let the members there create their own blog of their own so they can keep progress of their learning skills... or psychic phenomena. And I will need to write some articles on it, (I've posted two of my many articles here on Xisto), and maybe be able to stream some videos and stuff on it too, meaning that I will need the top plan (the unlimited one) of Xisto to host everything up. And this is my plan. I've got the logo draft done, I don't know how to refine it, and I just don't know how to post it up, and I've got part of the template done in my mind, and I'll draw it up for you... But yeah... this is my idea of the website that I had wanted to do, but then I got obsessed with finding ways to make money online, And then I wanted to make a blog, and then The Simpleton told me that if I really want a serious blog (in which I really do), then I should get it from Wordpress.org (the application, not the free blogging platform service) and get it hosted here, which deflates the purpose of trying to get money freely off the internet in the first place. And I was like, if I am to make a blog, why not a proper website? And now I'm back where I started... how sad... Can someone help me out of my sad meaningless circle?
-
The Simpleton... if you really want me to, I can create some threads on some burning questions that I've had for some time, but that wouldn't contribute to anything in the Xisto community (like my other threads) because I am only merely asking questions and giving opportunities for other members to reply to them and help me. And they'll either be similar but not the same as the blogging thread and something completely different. What do you think???

Xistosupport Down? I cant seem to log in.
Nameless_ replied to cangor's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yes, I am... it's not the first time though, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I've had it happen to me once (as well as everyone else, of course), and it's happening to me now... The good thing about this downtime system is that whenever Xisto's and Xisto's down, the Xisto's Billing and Support Centre is up, and when they're down, it's up here... though I would prefer them to be both up at the same time, of course, but there's no 100% uptime gauranteed. But of course, it's better with Xisto up and them down, because we can post here and we can't there... so let's put it this way... This is the better of the two...
