Questions About Website In My Local Server using xampp
truefusion replied to mra550's topic in Websites and Web Designing
"It didn't work" is not enough information to help troubleshoot. Your IP address doesn't need to be static in order for others to visit the website hosted on your local server (though it need not be limited to a website—you can share other files as well). If visiting LOCALHOST/ displays something other than a 404 "Not found" page that doesn't relate to your modem's configuration (e.g. if it shows the words "It works!"), then navigating to your IP address in a browser should show the same thing. If it doesn't show what is expected, then either Apache isn't running, port 80 is being used by another program, your firewall (if any) is blocking port 80, or something else is preventing access. -
Questions About Website In My Local Server using xampp
truefusion replied to mra550's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Unfortunately, i cannot help you here, as i don't work with XAMPP (as i install Apache, MySQL and PHP manually) and (or) WordPress (as i make my own scripts instead). But the fact that you are getting a blank page shows that at least Apache is running. Try making a test script in PHP and see if you can execute it through your local server. All you have to do is give them your IP address when Apache is running and you are connected to the internet. Just make sure no firewall is blocking whatever port Apache is using (which is most likely port 80). Since you are not using a router, you don't have to forward any ports. -
It's normal, though annoying, but it's not supposed to happen very often. Oh, wow, it's present there too? I would have figured it got left back with Windows XP. Here's the thing, apparently: your desktop is a folder. Windows, from what i have observed, has a weird way of updating folder data. I've also noticed it updates more than just folder content during this process, which may be the reason for why it takes a while to fully refresh. I run XP (as my secondary operating system) and i do find it annoying and time consuming when i open up a folder, see all the icons and then out of nowhere the file manager acts like as if i hit F5 or something and then all the icons disappear and i'm sitting there for a short time waiting for them all to return. At this point even the information on the left side vanishes. However, and though this may not be any solution for your desktop problem, i may have figured out a way to skip the waiting, at least for the file manager. If i hit the "Up one folder" button (or the back button), and then hit the back button (or the forward button), that may help avoid most of the waiting. I've grown a bit tired of Windows Explorer and its limitations to where i am very close to building my own cross-platform file manager. Perhaps it is because i don't use Windows as much as i do Linux to bring me to the point of actually getting started on my own file manager. But what will most likely help your case is getting a faster hard drive. I'm not sure if Windows 7 works the hard drive less or more than Windows XP, but i notice the HDD LED on my case blink more when i'm in Windows.

Strange Folders In My Web Root Folder. Security Breach?
truefusion replied to shadowx's topic in Web Hosting Support
Hmm, i think that happened to me too, but i can't remember. I can't remember which folder, so i can't say if it was chmodded to 0777 or not. I passed it off as nothing to worry about, though. Checking my logs now, the folder was named "dwyhj." The only way i can think of someone being able to create files (even if they are blank ones) is by sharing permissions (but i'm no expert in this). -
From the topic title i was expecting for there to be a slightly ambiguous example story about a guy and a girl and how they loved each other, where we would choose who put more effort into the relationship. However, from what it really is, if you ask a general question, you'll get a general answer. The answer to your question is: It depends. This can only be judged on a case-by-case basis. In order for such a survey to bear meaningful results, you'll have to observe currently active relationships. Note, this will involve not asking the couple themselves who loves the other more—though it may be an interesting question for couples in a "routine."

It's not only the shoutbox, but the shoutbox shows it more often. Consider the following post of mine: click. Look at the time it was posted at, and then look at the time of the post above mine. It's a four minute difference. However, the forums doing this is very rare and so far have not shown any awkward conversations.

The aircraft in the image looks like one of those model airplanes that you can buy which you glue together. I am not sure how long these planes are, but i get the impression that i should be able to see some tip of the back of the aircraft through one of the windows of the apartments. Secondly, the shadow at the bottom wing doesn't add up like the other shadows do. It could be argued that it is the shadow of one of the balconies; however, the light isn't coming from that direction. Also, i really doubt these planes have the authority to fly so low to civilian ground. !

First Signature In a long time...
truefusion replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Brush work is normally a random process unless it is thought out beforehand. While inspiration can come during the random brushing, if you are going to plan ahead, then you'll of course have to make sure you have the tools to support your idea (let alone knowledge). I am not sure if you remember any popular places for obtaining brushes, but DeviantArt is one of them. But a work shouldn't rely solely on brushes. Re-learning the filters will be useful, but also layer blending.I agree with you that the sig is a bit too dark. And you say "uncalibrated colors," which i would say, yeah, the sig could use more colors. For this case, i would recommend that you (re-)learn adjustment layers. Adjustment layers allow you to modify the work without making any permanent changes. While sig work may not necessarily be photography, it is still better to have the original pieces in their original state should you choose to make changes in the design.I have not seen your previous works, so i do not know of what you were once capable of (if you indeed made sigs in the past), but this sig is at least average, and i mean that in a good way, especially if this is your first ever sig. Text is usually one of the things that is hard to get to work right. Some take the easy route and just leave a dark area on the sig for the text, and apply some matching colors to the text. Following tutorials is good for learning new things, but try not to stick to one design, and try to be more creative. Some people after going through one tutorial stick to the same design in their sigs. That is something i would like to prevent, as it reduces the flow of creativity, regardless of how well the sig may anyway turn out to be.I'm not sure if you are in tune with the general sig terminology, but "renders" can be used as part of the design of the sig, be it the background or some other effect. A "render" is an external image that normally takes most of the spotlight. In this case, it would be the grim reapers-like image. Normally the effects with rendres are done with filters, but they are also found to be made with brush tools and layer blending.I'm not sure what else to say, but this should be enough to start you off on a better track. -
Oh! I was so thinking of something else when i read the topic title. That is interesting, and it makes me wonder which pencil point was the starting point of the entire work, let alone how they managed to plan out the design for the work.

Well, they don't have to have it there, it just would be nice to know that someone else is using my CMS too—it's not necessarily a self-promoting technique. There are other ways i can find out, though, if they are using my CMS, like if they were to submit bug reports or suggestions. (By the way, the only way to currently download my CMS is through Subversion.) Search engines parse the HTML of websites, which will practically always be visible. CSS and JavaScript are irrelevant to them (unless perhaps they cache the web page).

King Of Xbox Errors Ive got them all hundreds of times
truefusion replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Computer Gaming
Wow. I didn't know something like that could solve problems. You have pictures of this set-up? From my experience with ATI (though i have no idea which graphics card brand the Xbox 360 uses), the usual reason for reseting the graphics card is because the GPU stopped responding. But if it is because the GPU stopped responding, you would probably not see anything on the screen; depending on how the card and drivers were designed may determine the system's stability. -
Though i am a moderator, i do not represent Xisto in any way, nor do i work for them. Thankfully, though, i cannot waste your time, as i do not guide your paths. So you are leaving due to current policy (though i am uncertain of which policy exactly is in question). Could you anyway, therefore, provide some constructive criticism as, say, a parting gift? It is one thing to say, "I am leaving due to how things work around here," and it is another to add, "However, here are some suggestions on how to improve the current system." We already know you want the edit feature back (many people do), so that doesn't need mentioning. However, merely enabling the system doesn't do away with the reason why there is now a 10-minute time limit on editing posts: that it is an attempt to prevent people (spammers) from taking advantage of the system. Charity shouldn't be a waste of anyone's time.

Some people remove those footers for security reasons. If a malicious user knew what popular script the site was running and could figure out the version, they could look at change logs from the developers' website and look for exploits. And if the script is free, the malicious user could go through the source code without any financial obstacles and pin point any security flaws. For the example you gave, yeah, if they remove that part from the footer for security reasons, they should at least do more, like changing the default path of the administrator's log-in page.

(We did, after all, not code the thing.) If that were true, then you'd have to explain how the myCENT counter can enter a "ready" state, which exceeds 100 myCENTs. I did mention that the higher your post count is, the less you earn. But even i with over 2000 posts can earn over 50 myCENTs for big posts. There are some members here who have earned more while having less than 1000 posts than i have with 2000 posts. I did say, "yeah." But you have yet to show that the current decision is a bad thing. If you believe it is badly implemented, then how would you implement it? When someone speaks against something, that implies that they feel it can be better, usually following with a suggestion, as wrong implies that there is an opposite good. What ability? Seriously, i couldn't figure out any ability from what you have said. I am not sure what you mean by "what to charge per hour," as you don't charge the system for anything. But if we are going to talk about policy, where is it written that those who sign up to the system are to know the exact amount earned for their posts? Nevertheless, as mentioned, a little basic math is all that is required—hence why you wouldn't expect people to complain about being left in the dark concerning how many myCENTs they earn per post. But it seems odd to only mention how much one earns for a post. Rather, if anyone is going to mention such a thing, it would be more practical to talk about whether or not you feel that how much you did earn was fair for what you posted. You've talked about potential abuse of authority, but the keyword is "potential." Xisto has more to lose than you have with your time. Indeed, you may leave whenever you want and for whatever reason—you haven't signed any contract pinning you down. The system will work the way it was designed to work. People sign up to a service because they want to make use of that service. If they didn't think that the service was good, they will most likely not sign up for the service. But obviously these forums are more than just for obtaining web hosting. If one was not using the service before deciding to leave, then mentioning the service as one of the reasons for leaving seems irrelevant. You are capable of doing the math. You wouldn't be able to do the math if you weren't capable of receiving myCENTs (or if you didn't now how to count); but you're still signed up to the system and therefore still earning myCENTs for posting here—you don't have to first be hosted to earn. Also, i haven't seen anyone else but you complain about not knowing the exact amount earned per post. If there are more like you say there are, then they have been hiding in the shadows. What i have seen, however, are things like, "Why aren't my myCENTs showing up?" "Why are myCENTs still in the 'ready' state?" et cetera, which have been responded to and aren't necessarily complaints.

I would suggest taking the time to learn how to implement the Qt GUI library. You can download the Qt SDK and work from there. Note, there is no such thing as getting a program out of command prompt. GUI programs can be started in command prompt and print to standard output just like CLI programs.

Cravings: How To Listen To What Your Body Is Telling You.
truefusion replied to Mermaid711's topic in Health & Fitness
Depending on the sweet will determine whether or not any sugar rush with a crash will occur. Take for example chocolate. Chocolate products tend to have a lot of fat in them. The fat will counter any sugar rush. If you drink soda, there is no fat to counter all the sugar. Concerning the mini-pizza idea, the sauce will probably contain all the simple sugars, but the fat from the cheese should counter some of it; the fiber from the whole-wheat muffin may also counter the sugar. Depending on what time you ate the snack and the snack itself will determine whether or not you fully burn off the calories—but calories are overrated. Calories generate heat for the body. If you are ever feeling cold while others are feeling warm, check your diet for how many calories you are getting. Likewise if you are hot though the air conditioner has conditioned the air in your house to 70°F or below. You can learn to feel cool or hot during certain seasons by managing your calories. It may be better to mention an adjective for the kind of salt. Sea salt is usually the more widely mentioned alternative to table salt. But sea salt contains more nutrients than table salt, which may better aid the digestion of the salt or product which the salt is placed on. Plain yogurt—not the kind you see hanging in the diary products side with little peel-able paper-top containers often found in a six-pack—is the better alternative for yogurt, especially if you are worried about the sugar content. I've never really craved any genre or general type of food. It has always been specific kinds. However, now-a-days, after getting rid of much of commercially advertised products from my diets, i no longer crave for those things. But i have no snack ideas: i just work with what i have in stock at the time, which are simple things. -
Spicy Lemon Vegetarian Ramen Noodles. Yummy :]
truefusion replied to Mermaid711's topic in Health & Fitness
That may depend on the vegetarian. Yeah, the ones who avoid all animal products would not consider it, but aren't most noodles made with eggs anyway? You usually see chefs make a bowl of white flour on the table and break an egg on top of it and mix it from there, then place the mixing into some machine that stretches out the mix, then you just let it dry. There are some spinach spaghetti out there (which is pretty good, but a bit expensive) which may not contain any egg ingredients, but i haven't thoroughly checked the ingredients. -
Gta Website Template Could anyone find or help me make one?
truefusion replied to -Sky-'s topic in Websites and Web Designing
That depends on your willingness on modifying the newly-obtained template to fit your needs. You are looking for specifics, but what makes a GTA template a GTA template? It's not the structure of the template, it's not the colors, it's not any placeholder text, or anything of that sort. In fact, you don't even need a GTA-centered banner. Just about any template will do. The name and content of the website will distinguish the identity of the website. -
There is really no reason to specify any exact amount. If you want to figure out how much a certain post earned you, you can do the math: keep track of your earning before your post, and subtract it from your new balance after your post when the system passed by your account and made the adjustment. If you do not take the time to do the math, then it can be argued that you really weren't that much interested as anything you have said implies. But you should also note that you will notice a decrease in myCENTs earning the higher your post count gets, therefore making disclosure of any exact amounts unnecessary even more, and therefore requiring more from you. However, obviously there is a limit to how much is reduced, for you can't be earning nothing for posting here. Given that i have over 2000 posts, it should interest me more than anyone below my post count as to when the reducing stops. However, there has been no reason for me to be interested in it, as i am managing quite well with all that is in place. To clarify, and unless i'm mistaken, the maximum earning for any post is $10. Again, disclosure is unnecessary when the users themselves can figure certain things out through observation. Yeah, the amount given is subject to OpaQue's interpretation of what will not only keep members posting, but also not drain Xisto or Xisto out of business. Ever since the system allowed users to "purchase" domain names, a lot of people mostly sign up just for that, but domain names don't pay themselves. Assume you started a topic which got over 10 replies from others (which shouldn't be hard, as you have plenty of those already), and those replies contained useful information and were good quality posts. Assume you had the power to delete that topic and therefore did delete it. What happens, therefore? You lose the myCENTs you earned for that topic. But that isn't the problem, for the responses to the topic also get deleted, and now we have members losing income for no valid reason. Likewise, if someone responding to a post of yours in some random topic, and you deleted your post (where your post is not the topic's first post), the person would in turn appear to be talking to you but in a way that appears that they've either posted in the wrong topic or are talking to themselves. That would be awkward.

Under Linux (in case you are using it), it appears mencoder can adjust brightness for videos. Here's an example line i found: CONSOLE mencoder /path/to/INPUT.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -oac mp3lame-lameopts vbr=3 -vf eq2=1.0:1.3:0.5:1.0 -o OUTPUT.avi There wasn't much explanation on what the value for eq2 stands for (though they could probably stand for RGBA), but the key parts for adjusting brightness, apparently, are -vf eq2=1.0:1.3:0.5:1.0. I think he meant concerning his search results and not you.

New Template Design For Gfxtrap.com
truefusion replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
How do i access each of them separately? Filtering the topic titles will leave empty sections. No more than 5 entires for each should be enough, though. -
What you are asking for is a bit too simple to be writing a third-party tool for—if anything, that is more of a task for an extension or plug-in to an already existing script. Normally, the kind of scripts (if any) that do something close to what you want are content management systems (CMS), but these do things a certain way that may not be what you are looking for, or are more than what you are looking for, and are more complicated than what you are asking for. You say you wish to create, but you are looking for a third-party tool. For the task at hand, learning some PHP would be enough. You could probably find a PHP tutorial on conditional statements, connecting to a MySQL database, and getting any content from the database.

Hacking, Making Bots, And Programming? Help for a noob
truefusion replied to Nameless_'s topic in Programming
Python has a simple syntax, but that doesn't mean that it isn't complicated. Programming and scripting languages will always have their own learning curves; they only seem complicated now because you are ignorant. Once you learn how to write in either Python, PHP, JavaScript, or similar, all the other similar languages will become easier to learn. Why do you need to download these languages? You don't download the language, you download the interpreter/compiler. Text files don't execute themselves: they have to be translated (into machine code) before they can do anything useful. Anyone can write Python or any other scripting and programming language in a text editor, but that doesn't mean what they write automatically becomes practical (useful). You should indeed start with scripting languages (e.g. PHP, Python, Ruby, et cetera) first and avoid languages like Java, C, C++, C# and similar (which aren't scripting languages—though Java and C# can be argued to be a more advanced kind of scripting language), at least until you have the basics down. Basics include but is not limited to: learning the syntax, learning what a variable is, knowing about loop conditions, conditional statements, static and dynamic typing, et cetera. The more you learn the more you'll understand why i recommend scripting languages first. Also, if you are going to learn PHP, especially for web development, you should take the time to learn XHTML and CSS before PHP. By the way, the kind of things you seek to do is a bit too complicated now (i.e. bots, hacking, et cetera) if you don't know any languages. We could help out to the best of our knowledge, but if you don't know any languages, you won't have any idea on how to get it started, and any code we provide may confuse you. If you do know something, however, i can't tell from the example code you have provided, as those things can be easily copied and pasted. -
Oh, i get it now. And i noticed you moved them to the left of the post now. That makes it more obvious. Do you cook?
