Artisteer can be a useful tool for forming some ideas and designs. But don't expect some beautiful theme popping up when checking out the random themes. Only a real human designer /coder could craft a beautiful and correct validated, stable theme.A few months ago I used it to create a template for a drupal site, it was really nice looking when editing on the artisteer program. But when the theme was installed on to actual website with modules and stuff like that the theme broke. For example it completed disfigured the advanced forum module display. Also you need to look up a lot of css code to understand and make minor changes afterwards. But still, I would say the price of the software is very much reasonable compared to getting a single theme by a professional designer, and one gets the satisfaction of editing the themes to ones own likes. The software could be very useful for beginners like bloggers and people who spend more time producing content than designing. Its just fine for developing a pretty basic website. But for developers heres just my two cents:1) Need exceptional debugging skills to make changes to theme (css) afterwards.2) No fluid layouts possible, but can hack through for people with good skills, but again the stability of the themes can not be guaranteed. Its better to get along with css zen, garland, sky themes of drupal.

I don't seem to have any usability issues with such tool bars. I think it actually aids in browsing for users. But there should have been an easy way to hide the bar for those who don't want it. I suppose there might be some greasemonkey scripts which does the job of hiding.I am using opera, scrolling the pages with such tool bars works just fine.I am also trying to add such type of feature, static block/toolbars for a drupal based site. Something like the menu block on the sides, like in slashdot. Not yet found a solution, searched some css static positioning articles. They are helping me out.Coming back to the topic, most of the distractions/irritating features of almost any websites are avoidable.

Viewer for PHP uses a small light weight server called Mongoose. An extremely small and easy to use server.

A Little Bit Of Help Coding? Help with some custom codes
BCD replied to Leveecius's topic in Computer Gaming
If you want to modify those scripts, then you must have good programming language. How about contacting the author(s) of the script? They are the best bet, since they would be having good experience with their code and can modify things easily. -
This is where I read that thing: Link May be popularity is also based on number of thread views and ratings(star). Well, whatever it is, the better the content better the revenue.
-
To get some MyCents quickly, don't look around for thread to replies. You will spend much time doing that and finding a thread which you are interested enough to reply. Instead post your own thread about anything which you know something about. For two minutes keep your eyes closed and think about the topic you would come out with. Proof: Just do it and see. You will surely get some ideas or topics to talk and post about. As a thread creator you might also get some replies count credits in the long run, though I am not sure about this.

Same thing. Firefox has a lot of marketing support. First it being as an open source, many websites, bloggers display them on their websites. Articles are written on addons about how useful these addons are. Also, there are many young volunteers led by some active leaders at spreadfirefox and ning community. These volunteers help mass install firefox in institutions and help general PC users about the usability of the browser.

Web Hosting From Your Own Local Machine. (very Easy)
BCD replied to swizzeron's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hi Brad, the website contains really useful information for poeple who are starting with hosting thier own website. It contains some advanced topics on setting up mail servers and things like that, I particularly found the information on infinite responder to be of lot of help to me. Keep up the good work. There is also a way to use our own top level domains. We can use no-ip.com services to update the current IP address of home server to the free subdomain they provide, and then webforward this subdomain to the top level domain using services offered by zonedit.com. This can be useful in case when we need to move the site to remotely hosted servers, and also one can easily switch services without worrying about the visitors lost.Brad, is the site running on windows or linux? I suppose its on windows as all the articles are written for the windows OS. But then I am amazed at the stability and up time. Could you brief us a little about the security measures you have taken to prevent attacks and viruses if any, it would be helpful. -
We are dealing with around 600-700 GB currently and deleting and copying whole data doesn't seem to be efficient, as the process needs to repeated several times in a day. The new files in SF are small in number (few GB's) and can be quickly removed using script. Yes, the common files in SF and MF are exact duplicates (no modification although access dates may differ). Thanks for the link, first I will try understanding that and later try modifying it. Midnight commander seems to solve the problem, if it highlights then its just a matter of hitting delete. After installing through synaptic where can I find MC, it doesnt appear in applications menu, Ubuntnu 9.04. Thanks. Searching for rep button, is there any?

I need a quick method of doing this job other than doing it manually. I have two folders, say "slave folder" (SF) and "master folder" (MF). Say MF contains 1000 files and SF contains 1300 files. I need to delete the extra 300 files in SF.I think I would need to write a script to do that, and by the way I am using Ubuntu. I was just browsing for a solution, can grep do that? If so, can someone help me in forming the grep expression. To make that easy, I have some details which I already know about and 100 percent sure, so no need to worry about these possibilities:1) SF surely contains all the files from MF.2) There are no folders present in either MF or SF, they only contain files. Thanks for any help.

Template Under Construction under construction
BCD replied to Baniboy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Nice theme. Clean and simple. I like the readable and legible fonts, nice for a blog. The fonts might be a bit large, but its fine with me. Also, I think there are lots of gradients used on theme. It might a slight distraction from the main theme. And thanks Baniboy for answering my queries. Edit: For the menus and other javascript things, you can try Jquery. Its nice for starting out quickly. -
What Is The Path Of Drupal "temporary Directory" On Server?
BCD replied to BCD's topic in Programming
Yes, I was thinking how would system path work for Drupal. Thanks for clarifying this. As you said, I created a folder in Drupal installation root. But what should I Chmod this so that its not accessible by world. Does Drupal need Owner or Group permission to access the folder? I mean should I chmod to 755 or 775 or something else. And one more thing, when entering the path in the field, should it be system path or web path?Just in case I would also disable access to robots in robots.txt. -
Question About Webhosting Space please come in
BCD replied to akira550's topic in Web Hosting Support
Can we upgrade the space and bandwidth on other packages as we do in Logic plan($1.95). Consider Logic XTREME - $9.95, is the space and BW fixed, or can it be upgraded? Not that I want more space, just asking for clarificaition, I am using the logic plan package myself and is more than sufficient. Also can somebody explain the what does "Powerful Round Robin DNS" mean in layman's language. As far as I understand it handles some kind of dns and does load balancing, how does it affect a site hosted. What are the advantages or what can we do with it in our hosting? -
I don't have much experience dealing with hacked websites. All I can give is some pointers on what you can do.The first and foremost thing I would recommend is, changing the passwords of your Cpanel and FTP account(s). Wordpress is pretty secure, its highly unlikely that somebody used it as a way to get access to the account. Also assuming you only installed modules from the official Wordpress site, you need not worry about WP installation. But still its your wish, and yes the built-in functions would be sufficient to export and import the sites articles and comments. As for the last question, you can just put an index.html page in public_html with the notification of site donwtime.

Same thing, with Paypal the fees for a transaction is rather high, than in case of credit card payment where we save that extra fees. I use PayPal simply because I have no other option. Almost all of the websites I frequent or work with have only PayPal as an option for money transaction. They deleted the account! That is really weird, I haven't use either of them. By the way, did you even lose all the money in that stormpay account? I mean how can they simply remove your account without taking your confirmation. There TOS might be hidden deep beneath the visitors eyes to hide such a fact I suppose.

Yes, if I would there I would have defintely added phpbb seo mod to phpbb forums. Its higly recommended if you have informational posts. These posts act as a sort of articles and having nice urls with title is a must to get indexed in search engines. It is also more readable to read something like: than something like:

Bing! New Search Engine From Microsoft A smart decision Engine
BCD replied to BCD's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes, I would agree with that, Bing doesn't like to index more pages. It indexes only 20 percent of pages what the other search engines like Yahoo and Google do. When searching for informational, textual content there is no one better than google.Another thing I have observed is that, Bing shows more direct website domain names than specific page urls in its search results. -
Yes, it is an attempt to hack your site. The code seems to be a keywords injection hack. Although it seems the script is harmless, but you can safely delete them. Now you would need to think, how that person got into your account and uploaded the files. Do you have any CMS running or have you given the FTP passwords or used them to login in public computers?

I am building out a Drupal website on my local test environment. Its in final stages, after which it will be transferred to the server. I have been looking around for the things which needs to be changed when put up on the server. Apart from the databse settings to be taken care of, I found a field "Temporary directory" in Administer / Site Configuration / File System. It is currently set to "\web\xampp\tmp" by default during the installation on localhost. What should this be replaced when moved on to server? Apart from this, are there any other things to be changed/noted before uploading it on to server?

Mafia War Games seems to be the most played around in facebook. Some of my contacts play that game. Yes, I agree it annoys the non players a lot, myself being one of them. Every now and then such a thing smashes on to the wall. I haven't been using Facebook for some time now. But I hope there is a feature wherein we can block an application from sending any messages to the member.

As you already know, they are PHP files, scanning them with Antivirus wouldn't help since they wont be recognized as virus. You cannot download folders in file manager in cpanel. Use an FTP program and download the files inside those folders or just open them in edit mode in the file manager.Having a look at Awstats in your cpanel would help you identify more details on that, check for referrer websites, the IPs who accessed those files etc.In some cases, when you install and try the scripts present in Cpanel, it might create folders in the root directory. But anyway, check the contents of those files. The main page of the site is intact right? Then it is unlikely, that it is work of some hacker, hackers generally show off bright and clear that they have hacked. But before coming to any conclusion check out the files first.

As far as I know, MyCents are automatically transferred to Xisto billing. So the MyCents earned till now will be there in xistobilling area. The amount will be deducted automatically as long as you have enough dollars there whether its monthly payment or yearly.I suppose the "Add funds" is a way to add real money (not MyCents), so in case you are unable to post in the forums, you can continue to pay for hosting and domain using real money. And since the money in 'funds area' is automatically deducted as per the package, without any confirmation requiring from the customers, it takes out the tension of last minute billing at the time of renewal. You might wait for a confirmation from the mods or admins, on what I told is correct.

Query : Multiple Domains And Single Hosting Plan
BCD replied to mahesh2k's topic in Web Hosting Support
Nice you brought up this issue. I have been thinking of posting such a topic too and here you have this. Okay, I have multiple domains each running on separate hosting. Since each of those websites doesn't get much traffic so as to utilize even one-third of bandwidth, I was thinking of merging them into a single hosting. There are a few things which I noticed. When the domains are merged, each of the domains which are added as "addon" domain to the main hosting account, gets added as a subdomain to the domain the hosting package primarily hosts. This is the only difference I have noticed. Also there might be some search ranking or priority issues given by search engines. It would be great if somebody could shed some light on this. As for your question, I think the logic plan is perfect for this, because you can upgrade at any time. Whether you want more bandwidth, space or want the ability to add more addon or parked domains, logic plan offers the flexibility to do so. There are three types of domains you can host on your hosting apart from the main domain. That is the addon domain, parked domain and subdomains. You might be familiar with subdomains, they are like [somename].[thedomainname].com. Parked domains is a method to just park the domain, you can't host a website with data on it. The addon domain is the one you should be looking at. As I said before, when you create an addon domain in Cpanel, the name of the addon domain appears as a subdomain folder, that is it makes a subdomain something like this, [addondomainname].[maindomain].com which points to the addon domain you purchased. Hope that was clear enough. For procedure on how to create an addon domain check out this video on cpanel's official website. -
This makes me remember Opera face gestures. crash... Edit: Oh I forgot to put the link, here it is.

Yes one can have two domains pointing to the same place, but it doesn't work that way. Only one domain can have authority of hosting under it, I mean the hosting account can point to a single domain name. However one can forward the other domain to this domain name. So in practice both the domains point to the same location. I don't think you can have .tk based pages as URL's, I suppose .tk either cloaks the whole domain so that the browser address bar always displays the tk domain or completely transfers to the other domain location. However, I have seen .co.nr with sub url pages, although they havent mentioned this on their website, but it works only on html pages and not dynamically generated pages.
