Finally IE is no more an integral part of the Windows operating system. Yes, it would be nice if the browser less windows is released worldwide. Even though displaying a selection dialog to choose a browser during installation seems good, but Microsoft isn't going to do so. There's already a fierce browser wars with the new addition of chrome to the list, firefox becoming stronger and stronger day by day and the Opera's brand new version 10.IE has been dominating the market solely due to the fact that it comes bundled with Windows OS. And now when it is no more to be seen with windows, the market share of IE in Europe would decline at an alarming rate.The PC manufacturers now get to rake in some money from browser manufacturers., as they would have the choice which one of them to install or not or install many. I think a better option would be, to bundle a CD (like motherboard driver CD) with all of the popular browsers, and let the users choose which one to use, as they are the end users.

@thepinder: Hope you installed it by now. If not, then completely remove the files you have uploaded and re-upload afresh and make sure you have database created before installing. It should work. When you get error always do this. Most of the time you will get the answer.

Well, the search results are not that interesting. I still use google for web search. But I congratulate microsoft on creating such a useful image search and video serach. They are truly amazing. Bings image search produce the most accurate search results ever seen. You can for example, only get black and white close up faces of babies. Try it. Now, if I had to get those results in Google, I would need to dig deep into the results to get to get something close as in search criteria. And the live play of videos is awesome too, it plays a part of movie just by hovering on them. A very useful time saving feature.

Hello lazyasada, a warm welcome from a fellow Xisto member. You will not be satisfied here. Really, you will keep trying to get a VPS, then a dedicated server. But if you think you only need the basic package, you will be more than satisfied with it.

A solid internet connection (atleast 10 MBps upload speed to start with), a good Backup (with extra batteries) is the bare minimum. Get some members hosted, do some advertising. Then if you think you have quiet a good number of people hosting high traffic websites on your server, the you can outsource your server to some data center. This registry edit works fine for me. So, I can say, its working perfect on Windows XP SP3. I also get the correct "Open With" dialog box when I "Open" for unknown file types. @Spsp1981- It seems the edit is not working in some older versions (SP2 or lower). There are above 100 links coming straight from other sites, but the "Entry" values for them are only showing 40 or so. I think the masking of the the download links in those external sites is causing this problem. Anyway, I am now trying Analytics, its up and showing the stats. I was wondering how do I add the analytics javascript code for zip files? Or am I required to create a new profile with the zip link?

As far as I know, you are free to upgrade anytime, without paying any extra fees, except the price difference of the packages. I was looking at the awstats Top 25 url. There are two columns titled "Entry" and "Exit". What do they mean? Aren't the "Entry" value supposed to be the same as "Viewed"? Consider this example: As you see there is a huge difference in the "Viewed" and "Entry" values. And it is for a zip file. And I guess the "Exit" column denotes the successful transfer of the file. Isn't it? Another thing I wanted to to add, considering that the entry value is incremented, if anyone directly accesses the URL, then I think these statistics are wrong. Because I have had almost all (above 100) the downloads of the file straight from software review sites. Basically I want to know, the geographical location of people who are downloading the files. I have been using Internet Download Manager on Windows. I think its the most intelligent download manager. With capability of downloading up to 16 segments simultaneously, provided the server allows that many connections. Through IDM I can always download at the maximum speed of my Internet connection.
