To those who would like to try out PunBB, I would rather recommend to go with FluxBB. FluxBB is a clone of PunBB forked out after some issues in the development team. FluxBB has a broad support of users and developers and is actively developed. The 1.4.x release is the best. And for the record FluxBB has a noticeable difference in speed compared to PunBB. Also I think it is the fastest forum script out there. Its features are modest and suitable to any discussion forum. If I were to deploy a forum, I would go with FluxBB. For all other features of a forum which might be needed in the future, like chatroom, status messages etc I would implement them on website framework like Drupal.

Knowledgesutra Board...join Us And Be Ative...
BCD replied to web_designer's topic in General Discussion
Hi there,As I said I would like to join the KS board you have designed after some days, and here I am. Ok so here is my old school request.. which I used for staying absent in the school days :=============Hello web_designer, I am member of KS. As per the regulations of your KS Board, I have been active in the boards lately, and deem fit to be put on the boards. I assure you that I would give no chance of giving KS Board a bad name by making myself to be put on the 'wanted list'.Thanking you,BCD============= -
Please take the poll. We can discuss more about the topic after a considerable amount of people take the poll. You are encouraged to talk about your sleeping schedules. How much do you sleep in holidays? How has your sleeping pattern changed over they years? Are you happy with the time you get to sleep now?......and add anything you can talk about sleeping patterns and their (e)affects. I will join soon.

From past few days, my sleeping pattern has changed. I stay awake late till around 2 or 3 am every night, then get up at 7 am. To compensate for the lack of sleep, I sleep another 3 hours in the afternoon. After following through that pattern for a few days, that is, having two equal sleeping times a day, I have noticed one thing. Now, my body has been fixed to this pattern. No matter how hard I try, I can't get to sleep any other time than the (3-6) AM and PM routine. The only way would be to break the pattern by staying awake one afternoon. It is Interesting... Well, the interesting thing is, I actually feel better this way. I feel more energetic than before. I feel like I am living two complete days in a single 24 hour period. Nowadays sometimes its not unusual to get up at 6 PM in the evening and go pick my tooth-brush only to realize its evening, and its getting . Have you ever tried breaking up your sleeping pattern. I believe many people have a routine of sleeping in the afternoon even if they have their regular 6+ hours sleep every night. Do you feel better after an afternoon sleep?

Why Do Some People's Mycents Show Up As A Very Large Negative Number?
BCD replied to tgp1994's topic in General Discussion
When members post the mycents are awarded after some hours. And later when a moderator comes and sees that the post was not according to the rules, the moderator deletes it. Thus, accordingly mycents are deducted. You dont need to worry about it unless its you. -
You can check out this complete series on theming for drupal, right from designing it to coding it: 6 part tutorial on drupal theming I have finished that tutorial. So, if you are doing that tutorial and have some problems you can ask me.

The built-in drivers included with windows 7 may not be efficient enough. One of my friends installed windows 7 on her PC. The graphics were not good, in the sense when I move the mouse from top left to bottom right , the movement is not smooth (looks like playing a game on 3 frames per second). Installing the Nvidia graphics driver which came with motherboard did the job, now it feels silky smooth to operate. Also the sound drivers had some problem, whenever the music has loud pitch the sound just stopped working until the PC is restarted. The same thing when tested with headphone. The problem may be with the built-in sound card. But again installing the Realtek sound drivers did the job.

I haven't heard of even a single religion which tells humans to kill and eat other animals, let alone to eat a list of animals and spare another list of animals. Yes, I really need to research and find such a religion then, any help please? Talking about the reverse case first... The huge population of humans on earth become carnivores. Eat all types of animals they see, the poor animals become extinct. Lions, Tigers, die due to lack of food since we are eating all of theirs. You see its not as simple as that, humans generally don't eat the food of cows-->grass, horse->grass etc. All these animals get their food from nature. Humans eat farmed food, so is the case with animals too which are mostly farmed. BUT WAIT, what do these farmed animals (cows, goats) eat? The hard grown plants grown in farms. So, grow plants and make animals eat them and then humans eat these animals. So who is depleting resources faster, vegetarians or Non - Vegetarians? Moreover there is a forced increase in animal population due to farming of these animals which causes an imbalance in nature and aid to global warming. Lastly, my last example was not my claim actually, the 'I' in those statements is a placeholder to whoever wants to reflect those statements on themselves, instead of addressing as 'you'. I was bringing up the fact that when someone kills humans they are punished, but why not when someone kills an animal, when both humans and other animals fall into the category of animals. And when it is the law of nature to eat other animals, then why humans are punished to kill other human beings? Lastly, if a single amino acid can make me malnutritioned for whole of my life against hundreds of odds of non-vegetarian diet then obviously I better die as vegetarian. (Anyway, I am strong, vegetarian, and healthy and athletic with no risks of heart disease) At the minimum I do not carry the curses and sins of killing hundreds of animals in other case. Anyway, by eating a variety of vegetables one can get all amino acids needed for human body. http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/2001-03/984769959.Bc.r.html I like the idea of eating a dozen different plants to get my proteins than eating a single source (meat), spoiling my appetite and soaring my risk lists and sins list. So now I have my amino acids as vegetarian, coming to last part: Effects of things... you mean effects of eating veg and non-veg. I hope the above point clarifies the thing, if not I can bring upon a table clearly listing the effects of vegetarian diet and non vegetarian diet in my free time.

Yep. Killing animals for food is a mode of survival, not a mode of living. And we no longer need to do that. In today's scenario meat costs more than fresh vegetables and staples, and there are thousands of varieties of them to choose from, so a person cannot say that he/she kills another animal for food to survive. If lions had intellectual brains, had religious views, it wouldn't been killing other animals today, it would grow and eat fresh vegetables and fruits to live. The number of people falling in the category of "we" in the quoted statement is almost nil today. Also, the second part of the quoted text, yes its a part of primitive brain, but when that brain has developed, has intelligence, follows some religion it should be no longer a part of this. No religion preaches to kill animals for food, and never condones for it. Consider an scenario when I am in a situation of survival for life, deserted alone, I do not find anything to eat, no animals no plants, but another human being, I would kill him and eat him, and then I finally survive the ordeal, police arrests me for killing another human being, but why? I would have killed him, so that I could survive as per the 'law of nature' described by many forum members here.

I think its not about who lives long, it is the compassion for other living beings. It was the choice of humans in the dawn of mankind to kill other people for food. There are many many other living beings which are purely vegetarians, if humans wanted to be vegans they could have been, but again it was the choice made by humans. A vegetarian who lived 100 years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du_Pinhua About who lives longer. Please post on this thread:
-
What do you think about this? Whether a person living vegetarian life lives longer or a person living non-vegetarian life lives longer? Please choose either one of the choice, with authoritative proof to support your choice.Note: Assume unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking are not taken into consideration.

Yes, the process is degaussing. Yes, the feature is built-in in some displays like my old CRT PC monitor with analog controls which has a button to degauss the monitor.
-
If you still have the monitor in that condition, you can take it to a service center, they will fix it for a fee. I think my father gave it to the vendor and they fixed it for free, since it was under the guarantee period, although the TV didn't last long, around 5 more years.

How Many Gadgets Do We Really Need Today?
BCD replied to The Simpleton1405241582's topic in Software
I carry only my mobile phone whenever I go out. It sometimes offers music when I am bored, and stores some files when its needed. If If I ever think I need more, I would fork out of it --> ipod for music or portable HDD for storage etc + mobile phone. I don't even use the mobile phone itself, apart from occasional calls, and no I am not into text'ing on mobile. -
Yes, exactly. It takes screen shot of the web page at the same time saving the positions of links appearing in the page, then it converts those saved locations of the image to hotspots and link them back again. Yes open office does a great job, but then its a bit more work of manually copying and pasting it. Yordan's idea of pdf printer is more easier, as it is just the matter of pressing Ctrl + P and saving the pdf.

I was a fan of NFS series and used to play every game since NFS 2. Before I move on, my personal favorite is NFS 4: High Stakes and NFS 5: Porsche Unleashed and everything explained here is my pure personal opinion. I really did not like any later NFS games in the series after NFS 5. In fact, if I created this topic I would have titled it: "Past and Pre NFS: Porsche Unleashed". I feel that graphics are secondary, its the game play which comes first. In the underground series it is all the speed that matters, with obviously good graphics than previous versions, the game has nothing much to it compared to any other racing games. For example you can crash a gazillion times and still drive on to the finish line, compare this with real life F1 series, one knock and the car is out. Yes, it is the reality that matters, what fun would be it if the car can stick to the road sides like a magnet for a few seconds and emerge back on to the lane perfectly fine like brand new. It may be true people like to have nitro boost and would like to take on rash driving since its not reality, but I like realism in games, whichever game it may be, FPS or racing. In my personal opinion Underground series promote rash driving and the in-game warning about rash driving itself tells that. Actually in the game, safety is at the last, well do not care about safety at all. The only thing with remotely keeps me interested in Post NFS 5 games is the cops which keeps me interested during game play. So what did I find interesting in NFS4 and NFS 5..? NFS 4: High Stakes is the most challenging game in the whole of the NFS series. In a sentence: The career mode's, realistically economical in-game money, damage simulation + upgrades, and the awesome one on one high stakes challenge. I prefer money instead of points and that too which is economical, not high rewards. In career mode you need to think, not to crash your car or else we need to pay for it later to patch it up, and the upgrades which improve th handling and other features. The challenges in career mode is by far the most difficult or rather challenging in the whole of NFS series. Lastly the high stake challenges, where we bet on another car, either lose your car or win the opponents car, which keeps us on toes at every seconds as our own precious earned car is at stake. Its not these individual features which makes NFS 4 awesome, the features obviously some of them exist in other series as well, but the combination of them in the right amount to make the game challengingly realistic. NFS 5: The most unique racing game ever. The game having only Porsche cars. In a sentence: Ultra realistic driving simulation and controls, interesting and challenging factory driver mode. The factory driver mode, a unique experience, which makes us do things which we would normally not do during a normal race, the stunts and perfect turnings. In fact after leading your way up as factory driver mode, you will have awesome skill on car handling, for example how to take on through those tight turns, recover from crashes, escape unexpected situations, getting through scratch less etc. NFS 5 gives the chance to drive on 50-60s Porsche cars at 100+ Km/hr with delicate control. A truly unique game. Regarding graphics, I think the game would look no different than older games unless we have the system to support it with all effects leveled up and increase screen resolution.

What's The Best Way To Clean An Lcd Screen?
BCD replied to The Simpleton1405241582's topic in Software
I usually clean the laptop display and LCD by damping a smooth cloth with cleaning solution (colin), and it just works. If not, as suggested using a damp cloth should work, or else rub the damped cloth slightly on a detergent soap or dip in a tiny quantity of detergent solution. And then, take another dry part of cloth and damp with water and wipe again, and finally wipe with a dry cloth. -
Nice idea Yordan. I too convert some web pages to pdf for later viewing. I use a web2pdf extension in plug-in, which converts any web page to a down-loadable pdf. In fact there is no need of plug-in, the website http://www.web2pdfconvert.com/ can be used instead. Useful when on a different PC with no off-line converter. For exact replicas of web content which keeps formatting intact, web2pdf is good, but unfortunately the text is non selectable which is a big strike against this.

Just to give an update about my issue.I verified using my cousins credit card. Paid the bills. And then completely removed my Credit card entry from paypal. Soviet, its interesting because my paypal account remained verified even after unlinking the credit card information. It just displayed a message that, now I cannot pay through credit card which is obvious. So basically I do not have any credit card or bank account info on my paypal but still have the verified status and limits removed.

I recently created a google apps standard account for a new domain. But unfortunately I quickly forgot my new cryptic password I created for admin. I searched a lot of pages, arrived at the official page: google.con. but it doesn't give the link of what it says to be control panel, also "I cannot access my account" in the login page tells to ask admin for password reset which is myself. After wandering through 20 or so posts, finally I found the link. May be it will help others: https://admin.google.com/yourdomain.com/VerifyAdminAccountPasswordReset Replace YOURDOMAIN.com with your domain name. In the first step, you need to enter an email so that google can contact during password reset password. In the next step, to verify the ownership, you need to enter a CNAME record which it displays from your hosting account and point it to google.com.

8ennett, we an also have the client not to delete from server and at the same time only download the latest emails. Using POP method to download emails, in gmail setting's checmark "Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on". Now the email client will only download the latest incoming emails. But the problem is to access the saved email and document, we would need to open the email client itself. Incredimail is just like thunderbird email client but with some colorful features attached to it. Yordan, I looked in the gmail labs for such kind of addon. But there isnt any. May  be you can submit your idea to the gmail labs. To submit, go to gmail labs by clicking green jar thing near settings on top right (assuming you already have gmail labs enable, if not can be enabled from settings>Labs), scroll to the bottom of the page -->  "Suggest a Labs feature". Edit: Ah, well you can just visit this page to submit your idea: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ https://e''>https://e'>http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ https://e

Beware, not to give your phone numbers to unknown services. The add-on creator might just be mass collecting phone numbers to be later sold to some companies for telemarketing etc.

Tell Us Which Database You Use Mostly which one you prefer
BCD replied to yordan's topic in Programming
I use and prefer SQLite for my personal projects, as its easier to deploy them. And sometimes MySQL for quick and dirty operations as Working with MySQl is really fast. Apart from that I haven't done much serious work on databases.
