  1. I see that most of the categories are protected. I presume that the website is not something like Xisto whereby there is "incentives" for one to post. In that case, I think will it be better if non members could have the ability to view the website and see the activity level. I for one, will choose to register with a forum that have a certain level of participation, else it is pointless to join a "dead" forum.
  2. Either one, it is dangerous. One have been around few a few decades without a cure while the other, it just suddenly come and with the ability to mutate.
  3. Not aware that Microsoft is starting a similar service. Given the size of MS, it is pathetic to see that they are always doing catch up to the likes of Google. It is perfectly fine to copy someone else. But the copier must provide a better service. This, I am sure MS is not doing it.
  4. Agree. It is caffeine and not coke that is addictive. Drinking 2 litres a day is too much. If anyone, ever did an experiment of soaking an oxidise coins into a cup of coke, you might seriously consider if you wanna drink that much a day. I must add this, when I do drink a soda-drink, coke is the only choice for me.
  5. Sad to say, Arsenal are out after they got beaten 3-1 at the Emirates. Heartbreak too for Chelsea, after Barcelona score an 90th min equaliser. There we have it, Barcelona v Man Utd in the finals. Should be a cracker of a game is both side played to their full potential. My guess, it will be a Spanish year with Barca lifting the ECL to add on the national team's European Cup.
  6. Apparently, there is no known cases as yet in South Asia. Hong Kong and South Korea are the only reported countries in Asia that have cases. Then again, you will have to consider that some countries prefer to hush hush and cover the incidents. Like in the SARs case, countries like China kept the news until it grew too big to be hidden.
  7. 1) Switch off the engine and try to find a road with a steep incline? But make sure it stopped before the down slope begins.2) Drive near a pavement so that the wheels with rub against the curb and create fiction to slow and eventually stopped the vehicle?3) Shifting to lower gears to engage the engine brake?4) Find a wide enough road and do an sudden swerve of the car (and pray that it wont go turtle).5) Pray and hope that the brake will miraculously work again.
  8. I don't think they are over-doing things at the moment. What is happening is only the first wave. And with the waves, the severity increases. By then, the virus will have been to late to contain. Lesson from history, the 1918 Spanish flu started off as a mild flu virus before it gone out of hand and killed millions of people worldwide. Btw, scientists have predicted that a killer flu is due to happen.
  9. I am driving a Suzuki Swift at the moment. And hey, it is likewise here. No driving below the age of 18. But i think that rule is justifiable. I cant imagine a teen, hot-blooded and full of adrenalina, behind the wheels of a Burgatti or Lambourghini. Not to say that the moment one is above 18 years old, they will be freed from it.
  10. One of the problems faced by many website owners, how to monetise their traffic. One of the way to do it is via the CPM way of advertising. How much money it earns depends on the number of times the banners appear. However, advertisers is more keen to adopt the CPC way. Understandably so, the CPC represents a better ROI for them. But ask yourself as a web surfer, how many times have you actually click on a banner? Very few I presumed. If that is the case, even thou that might be a banner in place, it is not earning any money for the site owner.
  11. From my understand, Osama was an ally of the US when they were fighting a war with the Russian. The US actually provided firearms to them. However, relationship between Osama and the US broken down after the war. And since then, Osama had lead a terroist unit against the US and her allies.
  12. Thou I am an Arsenal fan, I would think qualifying to the final is a tough deal after the result of the first leg. I can't remember the last time they kept a clean-sweep against Man Utd at the home ground. Furthermore, when was the last time they won by 2 clear goals? In soccer, nothing is impossible but it will be tough. Guess the "dream" final of Arsenal vs Barcelona will be put on hold for another season, if ever there will gonna be one while Thierry Henry is still in the game.
  13. I am using Adsense at the moment and I have heard many good comments about bidvertiser. Maybe it is high time for me to switch to the latter. Or maybe if I could find a nice way to implement both together.
  14. The one child one family policy might be a short term solution. But it will cause another in about 1-2 generations down the road. The country will be facing an aging population and will be struggle to find "replacement" to keep the economy alive. By then, in order to solve the problem, it will take another 2-3 generations. The damaged will be done and will take a long time to recover.
  15. You hate school, wait till you get into the working world and then you will start to appreciate school days. I used to hate schools like most people. Projects, assignments, tuitions, exams..... Now, I get to face deadlines, project and clients management, etc... Trust me, it sucks.
  16. Nice and amazing facts that you have. This is what makes the Universe, in particular Earth, such a interesting place to be in. Maybe we should rename the title to amazing facts on Earth or maybe start a new thread on it.
  17. It really depends on what you would need. A walkman phone? A camera phone? A phone just to make phone call or sms? As a biker, I would think features as much maps, gps are useful. As a nature person, a camera phone might be good to snap rare floral/animals while trekking. On top of that, you need to phone to be handy, whereby it can take some knocks. I suggest iPhone or SE Xperia. But I ain't sure of the ability to take those knocks.
  18. This is a great idea. I am in. I know about html, css, javascript, php (mysql) and if there is still anyone using it, perl as well. Then again, as mentioned, who will get to do what and who will be doing the liasing etc. Many issues to settle.
  19. Depends on what you want to change. Css might not be able to do it. Beside SSI and PHP, you might also want to consider javascript. In the javascript file, you can do a document.write to "write the html".
  20. Without CO2, trees wont be able to survive. Remember, they need CO2 for photosynthesis. Without CO2, photosynthesis does not take part and trees will be "normal" and take in oxygen and give out CO2. Just like you and me. So the theory of more trees = less CO2, is flawed. But it is indeed true the trees does bring the temperature down. Try staying in a urban jungle of concrete and a real forest jungle, you will be able to enjoy at least a degree of two in the latter.
  21. Once upon a time, css was used for just controlling the font of the web page. In recent times, css was used to control the layout of a page. In some of the open source application like joomla, css have replace html tables in laying out the page.So I would say, go for html, javascript and css first. Then move on to xhtml, xml, and some server side scripting language like php, dot net etc. And if possible, round it off with Java.
  22. Based on the first leg result, Man Utd and Chelsea are in the pole position to go through to the final and make it a repeat of last year's final. Barcelona in still in good chance but the same can't be said of Arsenal. They are in a precarious position whereby if Man Utd score one, they will need 3 to get through. Based on previous encounters, i can't remember thou of an Arsenal v Man Utd ending with Arsenal winning by 2 clear goals.
  23. Got to agree that this is one of the more professionally "themed" web site around. At first glance, it looked like one of those newspaper online portal site. Nicely organised and arranged too. Well done.

    Fa Cup 2009

Yes, Chelsea is in the finals and they will be facing Everton. Likewise, I will be rooting for Everton. I kinda like them as my 2nd favorite team in the EPL. Guess the reason being Liverpool classed as big four while Everton aint is because of the trophies that they have won and also being consistently in the top 4 of the EPL.
  25. I have never tried Window 7. As for Vista, I simply hate it. Reverted back to XP within days of trying out Vista. As for trying Window 7, think I won't doing it for a while till they have a more stable version. I hate MS for launching a OS (even if it is in beta now) that is full of bugs.
