well, douglas adams fans would expect that of course. otherwise, they wont -- especially the younger generation. and it's a legitimate answer to the question, as everything else that came after my post. why? since there is no definite answer to the mystery of life's meaning, so no answer is wrong. don't tell me you have the CORRECT answer to the meaning of life?

your site works fine for me. and i have both Xisto forum and your site open. no conflict whatsoever, having both sites open. the only thing is, your main index with image which bears 'Links', 'Forum', and 'FAQ/About', are all linked to the forum page. is this deliberate because you are not yet through setting up the 'Links' and 'FAQ' page? if not, you should cut up your image so you can individually link each part to their appropriate pages.

there is MASS registration of domains, just in case you are not aware yet. and google can simply register as many domains as they want. some domain registrars have domain generators, where you just have to input several keywords ('google' keywords included, of course), and it will generate a list of domain name permutations based on those keywords. then with one click, it's reserved/registered. besides, the price of a domain name is practically "cheap" for a giant company like google, so registering them to protect the google brand will not be a problem. also, google is first and foremost a search engine. and they can keep tab of all domains which infringes on their brand. and being a giant company, there may be a special arrangement as well between google and domain registrars to monitor domain names which gets registered bearing the google brand, and to stop domain registrant profiteers/abusers from getting those registered. (this is just a possibility, and i'm not saying google does have this privelege in effect. ) so there you have it, maximum protection for the google brand.

gbrowser is a welcome addition to google products and services, if ever this rumor finds its way to reality. until it is made public, we'll just have to wait and drool. :Das for googleporn.com, i don't believe that they have to resort to offering that next to remain competitive as a company. registering that is simply one way to protect the google brand, since owning it gives them control of the domain, and saves them the legal hassles of chasing after domain registrants who abuse and misuse the google brand and the google domain variants.

TOA (terms of agreement) varies from one CPC (cost-per-click) service to another, so it depends. for google adsense, clicking your own ads is a DEFINITE NO-NO. unless of course you want your adsense account suspended, and your earnings default back to zero. google adsense is very strict, so don't ever attempt it, because they will know. :Dhaven't tried other CPC services other than google adsense yet.

some people are just so ungrateful. and don't blame anybody in here, because account suspension is automated since the hosting credit was introduced. the only person to blame is you, popac, for allowing your credits to slide down by not posting to increase your hosting credits.

there's a formula that is followed to solve the cube FAST, even if it is twisted and turned to a clutter of colors on every side. how fast you can go in solving it will depend on how fast you can figure out what series of moves to make based on the formula. admittedly, i have one in my desktop drawer, just something to while the time away whenever i get bored and don't feel like going online. i did learn the formula before, and bit by bit, i inched my way to solving the cube. once i solved it around about a dozen times or so, i consciously forgot the formula, to make it more interesting to solve. the formula takes away the pleasure of enjoying the cube after some time, although the thrill of solving it under limited time constraints has its appeal as well.

i've tried these things maybe a year or two ago.... not worth the time. i had about 40 to 50 different programs where i'm signed up, and i religiously click on those email links they send me daily. there's even a way to automatically filter those links and the script does the clicking, and i tried it too. i even click on banners they offer on their sites as additional points for cash, but no matter how many clicks you make, earnings would not be that much to even compensate you for online time and bandwidth you spend on them. and there are some programs which close down, or experience some other mishaps (like they supposedly 'got hacked' and 'lost all credits'), and you have to start all over again, and you lose all your earnings. there are some good programs though, but the bottom line is, it will be just a ten-fifteen cents here and there, even with a very good referral base earning for you as well. after six months or so doing the same thing, over and over again, on a daily basis, with nary anything to show for my efforts, i gave up, frustrated, and heart-broken.well, i'm just sharing my experiences, but the outcome may differ with you. good luck with reading emails for cash. the only ones getting the bounty with these programs are the owners (that's why i am thinking of setting one up, if i can ).

But i can sense the feeling of 'bandwidth guilt' the author has. getting online consumes a lot of my time, and sometimes, it takes over my life leaving me with tons of things left undone. and that is with a dial-up, how much more when i get broadband? i could only wonder. i actually trimmed down my online time a bit these days, just checking up on my Xisto credits, and reading new posts (and replying to interesting topics), and reading my emails. and i dropped my p2p clients downloading tons of anything and everything, since these just litter my precious hard disk space. i wish i could manage to keep these "changes", as part of my resolutions this year (but temptation is very strong ). i now prioritize my online time to online tasks that i deem important - like Xisto and my site - (with a little extra time, for some inane and useless websites, like bored.com ). would i still get broadband? that's a question of economics, and when i can afford it, i may. i may just have to rethink my 'bandwidth guilt', and make a strict plan to follow so it does not overtake my life. what's your view on the article?

technology is AMORAL - neither good nor bad. it's the people who use them which can be good or bad, not technology per se. like a knife for example, it is double-edged and can be used by a person to commit a crime (bad), or to slice bread (good, try spreading jam on unsliced bread ), but the knife by itself is neither good nor bad.as for technological advancement, there's nothing wrong with it, and i'm not controlled by a machine yet. lolz! there will be repercussions of technological advancement, but those repercussions will depend solely in the hands of the people who wield them. fire is technology, and without fire, would you eat raw meat? we've gone a long way since fire was discovered (i will microwave the meat nowadays to cook it ), and we can manage a few leaps in technology some more.

question: don't they send you your earnings after you reach minimum payout limit? 340 dollars is really frustrating to lose "down the drain", in your case, i presume.

i think any design (static or animated) goes, and if any changes is wanted by opaque, he can send you the instructions on what needs to be changed. you can post the banner you created here and then let opaque review it (btw, he's the owner/admin of Xisto ). just a font tip: he doesn't want the curves in the fonts from my first design, so i changed them. you can try any font which does not have too much waves/curves/curls in it as my first design.

i think there is none, by default. but you can install Soholaunch Pro Edition (described as a site builder) from your control panel later on. you can likewise use a content management system from the cpanel, which you can use to manage your site. there are many scripts available via cpanel, not just CMS: forums, images galleries, blogs, polls and surveys, and many more! just check out the complete list later on when you get hosted here. these are easy to install from cpanel, so you dont need to worry much about not knowing much html, or scripting in general.

pricing would depend on many factors, here are the two most important ones:1. deliverables - determine what you need to deliver to your clients first. jot down a breakdown of things they expect in contracting you: web design, web programming, web hosting, domain registration, etc.2. competition - what does your established competitions offer? prices vary from area to area, so scout for some pricing in your location. (why them? because they are the most likely people your client will go to if they don't get you after all.) then make an average offer based on their price quotations. as no9t9 mentioned, "somewhere in between" is the way you should follow. if your client asks why yours is a bit higher than some of your competition, then you can just point out that you will deliver quality. :Djust make sure that you can deliver on what you promise, based on the price you finally give them. and give support whenever they require it. good custromer service, in essence.

thanks for the compliments. i did that in photoshop, yes. as for additional ones, i would do them if admin opaque needs them (i'll leave the flash to opaque, that is where he excels). i will not attempt an animated one though, since it would be a strain to create huge anigifs. i usually shy away from doing animated ones. hope you get back your PC very soon, dooga.

nothing of that sort on my end, opaque. (at least not yet) could be the server network of your ISP which has some virus, if your PC is clean. to be on the safe side, take precautionary measures and do some virus/spyware scan. i had a whole 20GB partition wiped out because of one nasty virus before. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
