What To Do With 40 Billion $? What to do with 40 billion ?
serverph replied to adriantc's topic in Operating Systems
vision cannot be quantified, it is priceless. and bill gates has that keen and clear vision with regards to technology, and he follows that up with a definite master plan and actions, in order to realize the vision. well, with all his billions, he can buy a third world country already. lolz! with all the riches he got, i believe he is not letting them lie and rot like a scrooge would do. the best thing about having too much excess money is that he can plunk it in any charitable cause or foundation he fancies. and he has lots of that which he actively supports, i think. -
lolz! okay then, i will do the changes you require. but give me detailed instructions on what changes you need me to implement. like which set of texts do i need to change. and what font do you want used. better if you can point me where i can download the font you want, or just send the TTF file to me if you have it already. i may not have the font you have unless it is a standard windows font. PM me too, since i don't keep track of this thread.

77th Annual Academy Awards And the OSCAR goes to...
serverph replied to serverph's topic in Art & Creativity
video clips of the nominees and their movies can be viewed here. brief synopsis of the movies and the characters the actors/actresses portray can also be found on link provided. -
admin opaque, do you use photoshop? the PSD file for my banner is available. just download it, and simply change font settings for editable text (Quality Hosting @ $10/year!). the site name and taglines are not editable since those are images embedded in the PSD file, but if it's the one you want to change to another font, i suppose you just have to turn off the layers for each, then you can simply type in the same text with the font of your liking.

some screenshots would have been helpful

here's my photoshop plugin thread, cragllo http://forums.xisto.com/topic/6279-photoshop-plug-ins-from-experience/

that would be entirely impossible. once a browser reads your webpage, the images are downloaded to your visitor's PC, and these can be readily accessed via the cache folder. more likely, if they are using IE, they just have to point at the image, and a 'save image' will appear and they can store the image on their folder/directory of choice. likewise, they can simply press 'print screen' command, and a snapshot of the image is made, paste it on a graphic app like photoshop, then save it. so you see, there is no way you can protect it from being downloaded/grabbed by others if you make it available online. the only protection you can make is to embed watermarks on your image so that editing it to suit their needs would take up a lot of their time. but even that can't deter a determined person. B)basically, if your client doesn't want these photos to be used by others, keep them offline.

The Crazy Frog... you know, the one with the blue-grey frog with goggles and helmet making that you-love-it-you-hate-it ''ding-ding-dididing' sound? you probably saw it on tv already, and heard of the sound. you could even be using that as your mobile ringtone already! do you find it irritating? or can you stand every ringing phone beside you playing it all-day-long? The sound is part of a familiar online insanity test, and you are hereby challenged to take it if you haven't heard this thing before. http://ww12.funny-funny-pictures.com/ Download 'The Crazy Frog' video here. Thumbs UP? Thumbs DOWN?

you might as well use a CMS, cragllo. (or is that a result of CMS already?). try the mambo installation in the cpanel. the navigation is a bit overpowering, and it would require a little more getting used to. more spots of color would greatly enhance your site. content-wise, very varied so that's a plus point. a little layout organization should also be on your list, as it appears to be a mish-mash of sorts at the moment. for graphics, try checking out the photoshop plugins thread i made, download and play around with them. you would soon be making professional-type images in no time.

here's my contribution. i don't have the font for the 'Xisto - Web Hosting, The Quality You Want' text, so i simply lifted the one from cragllo's banner (hence, i can't remove the white text background for the tagline, since removing it would make the text more fuzzy). i also transformed the round logo, to make it a bit more round. the background used, i cropped from a collection of images i grabbed off the net. serverph replied to err's topic in The Internet

Photoshop Plug-ins from experience
serverph replied to serverph's topic in Websites and Web Designing
ket i'm gonna check out eye candy 4000 later. i think it's by alienskin, but i haven't tried those yet. as for filters unlimited, there is a demo version from their site. i have the full version since i like the effects their plugin can provide. it is worth the price (at least for me). m33, you can simplify graphic manipulation with plugins as the ones above, so i would think you would have fun with photoshop from hereon. enjoy! -
lolz! i was thinking to myself, "Why is 'Firefox' in a 'creativity forum'?" as it turned out, this thread is in the wrong place.anyway, i use firefox too - better than IE. IE is just my backup, for compatibility testing of my website designs.

hosting credits/account status can be found here: http://forums.xisto.com/index.php it's in green and red, you won't miss it.

Photoshop Plug-ins from experience
serverph replied to serverph's topic in Websites and Web Designing
a little off-topic, but can still be useful. although a bit limited on graphic formats it can support (PNG, BMP and GIF files), and photoshop has its own optimization feature. -
here you go, with black border. (right-click, then save image above)

your site's language seems foreign to me, so i can't figure out what the site is all about. anyway, i'm sure others can make better ones here, but here's something i can share until you get a better one from others. (right-click, then save image above)

i'm sure you would all agree that photoshop is the best image editing software out there. and plug-ins enhance the way we use photoshop (and other image editors out there, which also uses compatible photoshop plugins). let's share our plug-in experiences here. which 3rd-party photoshop plug-ins do have in your arsenal, and which do you find most useful? some description on how you use them can be helpful here, and of course the url where we can find them for download for testing. let me start: --> FILTERS UNLIMITED 2.0 - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - for buttons, frames, edges, tiles, special effects, and a lot more. this is my most used plugin, since i can play around with 350 automated filter effects in just one simple plugin. you may want to try it out. --> MEHDI PLUGINS - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - 25 free photoshop plugins for download in their site, but is not available in one complete package as the one above. you have to download each plugin individually, and only what you find useful. don't forget to get their projection plugin. you will love it. more soon. your turn.

hands down, gmail is the winner. although i keep an email with yahoo, i rarely open my yahoo emails and simply use the account to access other yahoo services like their yahoo instant messenger (but still, only on occasions when i'm in the mood to chat with anybody) and their yahoogroups. hotmail, i have one too, but i couldn't care less if they shut off my account with them. i don't even remember my hotmail password.

i have adsense in my site as well, but it really takes a very long time to reach the minimum amount required by the program. a substantial number of visitors come daily to my site for the information/content they require, but it is not a very good gauge of success with adsense. i rarely get double digit clicks on a day-to-day basis, mostly just 1 or 2 or 3 clicks a day. and since google ads pay differently with each click, it's hard to even make a projection of how much you can earn a month. my adsense has been up for 3 months already, and sadly, i can't even tell when i will be able to reach their minimum for payout.clicking on your own ads is a big NO-NO for google. so if you get adsense on your site, don't even think about clicking them even if you just want to test your code. google will know, and before you even can say OOOPPS!, your adsense account will already be suspended/revoked (and all earnings lost if you have started earning already).will report in here if and when i get paid by adsense.

the nominees for this year's oscar awards have been announced, and i am very much pleased with the list of nominees (http://oscar.go.com/nominees/). and a month more to go before the final winners will be awarded the golden boy. if you're rooting for any particular movie/actor/actress/director, post your thoughts and observations in this thread. :Pi actually never watched all the films included in this year's nominations yet (maybe soon, before feb27), but i am picking my favorites this early: best actor - a toss between johnny depp and leo dicaprio. i've seen them both in superb performances when they were younger ("What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"), and i would assume that over the years, their performances matured immensely to grab an oscar this time. for best actress, i'll go for hillary swank who i remember best in her portrayal in "Boys Don't Cry", as a cross-dressing girl who preferred life in her male identity. my best director pick is martin scorsese, and best picture the aviator.

BBC just broke this news 3 hours ago (i think ), and a very nice addition to the very useful google that already is. care to look for anything mentioned on tv, 'einstein' for example? click here. yahoo has a similar service, which is also on beta testing as google. but results on yahoo yield less useful info, unlike that on google which can be more useful (i think ). searching for 'einstein' on yahoo's video search would give this. GOOGLE VIDEO SEARCH (beta) --> https://www.google.com/videohp?gws_rd=ssl About Google Video --> http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ YAHOO! VIDEO SEARCH (beta) --> http://video.search.yahoo.com/ try both and put in your comments here.
