Ok technocian maybe i can get you started, first off you can crop in any and all shapes u can think of thats how renders are done, instead of using the rectangular marquee tool there is the polygon lasso tool but that doesnt give you much control so then there is the pen tool and you can use that to make a shape a little bit at a timeand then right click once the shape is complete (the start point and end point are one) and click on "make selection" in the menu and then it will look like the running ants so from then u can do watever just like selecting with a rec marquee tool cut copy and so on. Then the most important step i think is to save the final product as .png which preserves the quality of the image.Good Luck

Hahaha Good one clagnol, to me it looks like you are about to burst into flames. But i still prefer the avatar you are using now. With sum photomaniping you can do wonders with that phtoto maybe put an explosion in your eyes and make it look eveel.

Looking good samma, bg and render working really well...you didnt do any maniping on the render say enlarging certains areas did you ^^Maybe a more creative border.8/10

Romford are you designing this in ps (photoshop) if you are then its not the html you need to worry about for the link but the images themselves let me explain. Once you have your image ex. your splash page ready ..grab the slice tool and for your picture you will need to cut in into 5 parts so that the "button" is left in th middle by iteself then click file > save for web and u can save both images and html format. then open up the html page ps created for you and edit it for example by putting the image in the center of the page or making the background colour black and most importantly placing a hyperlink on the "part number 3" (which should be your button). I did this to all my splash pages and it also improves loading time for low end internet uses as it doesnt have to load an entire image on the page at once but does them in parts.Good Luck

I voted for the Warcraft series because of the cool cutscenes and all the great lan games we used to have in my flat plus teh maps and character details they went into was really interesting i loved poking the characters with my pointer to get the hundreds of responses they had...

I think the second one also looks really good just change the white to transparent using the magic eraser tool and then save it as .png or if you have it as a bg layer just make it invisible by clicking on the eye in the layers panel but as guy said these are not for promotional banners for Xisto because of the "clientel" lol...The first one can definitely do with a colour change ( maybe Xisto colours)the third one is cool sort of dot matrix but maybe would look better as a smaller banner because its not too complex.The forth one im not so sure about maybe work on the ripple efect

Heh here we go once again.I use the firewall on my router and windows service pack 2 firewall.Nod32 anti virus all the way ( on all my computers ) its simply the best out there at the moment.For spyware i use the combination most people seem to use which is adaware 6 personal and Spybot Search & Destroy.So my system i feel to the occasional script kiddie and trojans are pretty safe.

Thnx Samma, i wont add anymore colour to the second one becos ive used all the colours of the render to keep it looking smooth...on the other hand for the first one i feel that knowing system of a down and, i know Mike enjoys them that i tried to make it lively and lost cos mayhem (at the same time trying to keep my style of vecs) just like a SOAD concert, which i must say the one i went to in jan this yr was ORSM, here again all colours derived from the renders and i feel i am within the 50/50 bg/render limits if anything the crowding can be linked to a mosh pit - all in all the the sig has its reasons .P.S Samma i will gladly do u a vec of ur genre of music or band ( as long as i can get a good caricature) - Just post the details here or PM me ur msn or AIM and i can keep in touch

Eb to be honest even though its visually pleasing the render and text take up too much of the sig so we cant see the work you put into the background if any cos at the moment its more of a resized wallpaper not a true sig.

Here goes for my c & cFor the 1st one i feel that sig sig flows quite well accept for the name maybe a different place for that.On the halo splinter sig, master chief is a bit too blended with the bg almost exactly the same colourAll the others are great and my fav wud hav to be the apocalypse or hellboy sig.

Bam ! thats hot of the press theres only 1 thing i have to comment on this set and it seems to be troubing me ..........for your fei-long sig i think "the background is the focal point of the sig hich really i cant understand how but it is" :E

ebbinger 413 your sigs are definitely improving and this half life 2 sig is looking good.You have a nice border and the bg colours flow smoothly into the render all i can suggest is to work on your brushing by getting a few more varieties in there and changing the blending modes.Good job keep it up

My vote goes to truefusion for the render vs bg and immaculate blending of the text

Snlildude87 That text effect is simple, there is a few variations but basically :blending options of the textdrop shadowonly change following - opacity 100%angle 0distance to 3spread 0size to 3apply set to soft light, if its too light duplicate layer and then lower main opacity of copy till it looks good.

Yea good work on all of them but as you asked for here is some criticism,on the half life sig i would suggest putting gordon behind the banner because its really not a pop out sig and so thats why u have a banner otherwise it just looks like gordon has been paced on a sig and is not part of it becos it wont make sense for the light to shine on him if he was in the foreground and i noticed you put your name in the light flare but this is distracting and takes away from wat can be a great effect maybe move it to a corner.For the Reaver one i suggest changing the subtext from the white colour to one used in the sig so it blends in and if you cant read it properly you dont have to change it maybe try a strke on it or a glow an if those dont work then try other fonts i generally use only pixel fonts for my subtext cos they are easy to read. and maybe slap a border on it maybe even a simple 1 px black border just to give it the definitionYou did a good job on the anime sig nice work but maybe a different font choice for your alias And just for the car maybe you shud have chosen a different brush because it doesnt do much for the car just makes it look "dirty"Hope that helps
