Well i vote in favor of the future so Counter Strike : Source all the way even though im still playing Counter Strike 1.6 at the moment aswell due to the fact that as Nqon said most of the community is still in 1.6 and alot of my mates are aswell. But i know of Counter Strike 1.5 Non Steam Servers still up and running. The differences between Source and 1.6 is vast which is another reason some made the move faster than others and i feel that even though in a year 1.6 will still be around the more populated game will be Source - its the law of averages.Killer there is tweaks out for Counter Strike Source at the moment to reduce the amount of rain in aztec for example or make the bodies pile upwhich i think is ragdollcollide_1See you guys on a server sumtime

I would Definitely Vote Day of Defeat !!Superb mod to the half - life series and definitely a fore runner in the moding world in terms of graphics and the physics engine used in Half - Life. The realistic nature from beta Day of Defeat including if those of u that can remeber the bleeding simulation in which u had to heal yourself on the battlefield right up to the intoduction of the Mg's, rockets, and Rifle Butt Smacking. The Detailed Maps which usually included the actual phtographs they were created off on the mapers website. The recoil and physics and ofcourse Stamina system which rivaled any sim out there. So here's another gamer eagerly awaiting Day of Defeat : SourceIm sure its going to rock the Half - Life 2 wolrd as much as it did in Half -Life 1.

New Hosting Package For Those of Us Who Need Space/Bandwidth
Reaver replied to wariorpk's topic in Web Hosting Support
Interesting Idea warriorpk but as stated in the Xisto FAQ the amount of bandwidth actually used by sites is minimal and more than sufficient. I would also suggest you trying this venture at the partner site Xisto since that is for the more "clued" up people needing hosting and control over it. One more thing to point out is that by giving you the abilty to host of the domain / sub-domain you are taking away valuable traffic and inevitably "posts/hosting credits" away from Xisto. Who provide a great service it seems already and which is keeping your hosted sites alive. Why try and take away when they have given so much for so little. -
Before i start the speel i would like to say this cant be found on another forum by ME but i have sinced moved from the partner site Trap 17 to Xisto Because i feel that i will get talented replies. The Main Reason for this post is to decide the popularity of the voice programs. Since i currently host both a Teamspeak server and Ventrilo server and am currently in the process of creating a website for my supporters. I would like your opinions as to which is the better program and why you think it is, since i will be basing these results on which Server i keep and provide statistics for on the website. For those that have not heard of these programs i will include a short description of each program and the websites they can be found at. TeamSpeak # Optimal bandwidth usage with codecs ranging from CELP 5.1Kbit to GSM 16.4Kbit to Speex 25.9Kbit for optimal voice clarity # Local addressbook allows you to connect quickly to your favorite servers # Webserver list allows you to find TeamSpeak servers without their IP # Channel and subchannel creation # Client is designed to work well with firewalls and routers # Passworded servers and channels # Completely configurable keybindings (hotkeys) to quickly join specified channels, mute your microphone, etc. # Whisper functions so you can speak privately to inidividuals, groups of persons, or other channels # Auto voice normalizing (no need to adjust your mic manually) # Supports Microsoft Gamevoice ⢠hardware # Windows/Linux server # Windows/Linux client # Text messaging in the client # Seemless optoinal MySQL integration, allowing you to customize your server database # Minimal CPU and RAM requirements # Given bandwidth requirements are met, servers can easily handle thousands of users Ventrilo # Cross channel communications. # User-to-user private conversations. # Individual channels that can be created dynamically. # Sub channels. # Muted channels. # Queued channels. # Password protected server login and channels. # Advanced channel control options and filters. # Text-to-speech (TTS) voice generation. # Key binding to execute special program functions, play wave files, send TTS messages. # Separate phonetic spelling of user and channel names for proper TTS. # Built in chat similar to IRC. # Users can enter dynamic comments for all other users to see. # User assigned names for server connections. No need to remember IP numbers. # Multiple platform support for servers. # Servers are now ready and supported on 64bit platforms. # Ability to restrict server admin features. Useful for hosting services. # Server specified codec's to control voice quality and bandwidth usage. Enjoy the programs as much as i do and your responses are much appreciated Reaver

I agree with you Gragllo in the contest between Torrent and P2P, The later is definitely the loser due to the unsecure "My Shared" folders and the sumtimes defined ports not to mention the virii and other malicious content provided. But then to your title which says "whats the safest download?" should be extended to "whats the safest download for pirated software and music?" since it is obvious that people who use these p2p and torrent systems are not after legit products, therefore the safest method of downloading something legally would be to get it from the host site and the mirrors they provide.

Munchie for a more indepth look at the glitches i posted and other interesting facts you might want to look at CS Banana From Conterstrike to Zero im sure you will find what you are looking for
-
Ok here are just a few glitches that i have notiched over the many years of playing counter strike:The Famas rifle reload delay. After reloading the famas rifle, it takes about a second for the numbers to change, during this wait time you are unable to fire.M249 machine gun reload delayAfter reloading the M249 machine gun, it takes about a second for the numbers to change, during this wait time you are unable to fire.Player ID slow responseWhen your crosshairs are put on another player, when the ID comes up, if its at long range, after you move your crosshairs away from them, it takes a few seconds for the name to disappear.Flying/sinking player modelsWhile playing, sometimes the player models will suddenly just start to look like they?re flying through the air, or they will sink half way in the ground. Whenever this happens if you look in your console it will say something like requesting pldecal/tempdecal from server. Solid radar flash bangEffect: When using the solid radar option, and you are blinded by a flash bang, the radar is still visisble to you. Models coming through objectsWhen players stand close to objects (EG: doors/thin walls) their weapons/player model will come right through the object, giving away their location. Slow response planting/defusing progress barWhen planting/defusing the bomb, if you try to stop and stand up and try to shoot an someone, the progress bar stays in your way and can get you killed. Buy equipment menuDefusal kit and shield don't show up for CTs to buy when using "buyequip" shortcut. This happens when joining the CT team after being on the T team.defusal kits pick up problemsAnyone can pick up defusal kits now, terrorists can, counter-terrorists can too, even if they already have one.Un-retrievable weapons/items map glitchesWhen a player drops or dies near one of these areas, their weapon or the bomb if they were carrying it, would be dropped in an area where it can not be recovered. There are very many of these areas around, mostly where boxes are not right up against each other or right up against the walls.Silent bomb planting glitchesWhen the bomb is planted on top of a wall/box, once it falls down, if it goes half in the wall/box and half outside, then the bomb ticking sound cannot be heard by anyone.Maps don't always load correctlySometimes when on servers, the maps don't always load correctly, causing railings to disappear and reappear at different distances.Players boosting through objectsPlayers can get together and boost each other right through objects, for example boost through ceilings.Places on maps where models go all blackWhen this happens, the model goes completely black.Doors pushing players aroundWhen this glitch happens, the player near the door is pushed around by the door, and usually ends up getting him/her killed. Not yet connected players with scoresWhile a player is trying to connect to a server sometimes their name will show up on the scoreboard with a score, but no ping. And the team counter counts these ghosts too, causing more problems, it could say 6vs6 when its really 4vs6.Radar not functioning properlyThe radar is moving really slow and also showing false information, some teamates won't show on the radar, when the bomb is dropped it won't show up on the radar.Console totally wackThe console has gotten completely messed up with these last few updates that have been released. Some things double up in the console, some letters will be missing, you can't use the CTRL+C shortcut anymore to copy stuff, like SteamIDs for admin punishment.Flash bang grenade exploitsWhen these exploits are used, the user throws a flash bang in a tight space and it blinds everyone in a very large area.Reload animations just don't play at allWhen this glitch happens the gun will reload but it won't play the animation, so all you see is the gun staying still then suddenly the numbers in the bottom right corner just change.Odd spawn bugWhen this glitch happens, the player will spawn in a random spot on the map, but will show up with no weapons, not even a knife. However if they are quick enough and do an auto-buy command, or use buy scripts then they can get a weapon.Footstep sound as long range bullet richochet soundWhen this glitch happens, a player being shot at from long range hears the footstep sound as a bullet richochet sound.USP and Colt quick silencerWhen this glitch happens the silencer is put on quicker but you can't shoot until the game is done the animation, you just don't see it.Shield - misleading modelWhen this glitch happens, you look at a shielder, and if they're standing and have it closed you can't see their feet, but you can actually shoot them in the feet and kill themGetting shot on a ladder, slow down once ground is reachedwhen you're running around and get shoot you slow down a bit, well if your on a ladder and take damage while on a ladder and then get off the ladder no matter how long ago you where shot you will still walk slow like you just got shot.Knife and grenades are classified as less powerful than the bombCurrently if your running around with your knife out or any type of grenade and you run over the bomb and you have auto switch to more powerful weapons on then it will pull out the bomb. In some situations this can be a very bad thing.Hope this is a help to you if you are trying to compile all the glitches to tell Valve but unfortunately i dont think Conter Strike as such will be updated but Source will go on.
