And to add to what jlhaslip said, please have the consent ready to be submitted to server admins when needed. Or, to make everyone's life a little easier, place the copyright and consent document on your page (perhaps right under or next to the link) where it's visible and easily accessible.Thank you. -

META tag will do most of key word search but not completely. Sitemap and indexing of your web pages are also important. And the key words and its proximity is highly recommended. For example, whenever you see 'Free Web Hosting, No Ads' it is no accident that this phrase is used and emphasided. This is because there are so many other web sites offering free hostings. When searched with words "web hosting without ad" the proximity between "hosting" and "ad" is closer match to "Free Web Hosting, No Ads" i.e. compare to key word search of "web hosting that does not force ads." But before you go and adjust your codes and words, first you have to make sure search engines, such as Yahoo and Google, know your site actually exists. So few key steps are: 1) Construct your website and have clear idea of your file structure - this means you name a file "contact.html" and don't change later to "contact_us.php" this will be viewed as broken link and will not be indexed again. 2) Title, Meta, Content and all other words should be complete and flawless 3) Some crowlers love <a href= tags. But don't put too much. I was told that balance of link to your own site/page and few external links was good way to start 4) HAVE QUALITY CONTENTS!!! Bunch of nice flash or images will not be liked by web crowlers. Plain TEXT words are 1000x better than $400 flash animation. (now you know why Xisto demands quality posts ) 5) After all this, go to site tools like https://www.google.com/webmasters/ register and follow their instruction. 6) sitemap.xml (not sitemap in webpage) is stressed strongly by Google so have one. There are much more to be discussed but this is a good start. As you grow you can slowly add more to your pages. Good luck.

Trap17 Forum Should Be Simple Machine And Remove Those Ads
BuffaloHelp replied to ProtoMan's topic in Web Hosting Support
It's like driving a car with many features verses driving a car that gets you from point A to point B. If all you want to accomplish is to create a forum for discussions SMF will do just fine. But while creating a forum you want to give an "experience" of being a forum member then IPB is the way to go. Xisto turned off this feature because of heavy loading time but IPB can have each forum a customized skin. Skin is the theme for colors, backgrounds, icons etc. So picture each forum section you enter can have different skin--that's the power of IPB. And that's just one aspect of this script. But like I said, all you want to create is a nice forum SMF would be your best choice...especially for free. And try stay within a single topic per post. -

Domain Name Help probably a quick easy answer
BuffaloHelp replied to FallenSage's topic in Web Hosting Support
I'm not sure if you found an answer...and sorry for the delay on my reply. When you park a domain, you will place all your web files under /public_html/ folder. That's it.When you add-on a domain, during the process of adding you will be asked to name the folder. You can name it whatever and however you'd like. Please refrain from using special characters (it's better in the long run). And it's just a matter of placing all your files in /public_html/fold_you_just_named/ -

I Can't Access My Forum. Please Help SMF Forum error
BuffaloHelp replied to ProtoMan's topic in Web Hosting Support
My SMF hasn't crashed yet (knock on wood...or my head) so I'm not sure if you can save your damaged database.Your forum script is fine. It's when your forum script calls for SMF database and it's not returning the expected value, you're seeing the error message. And I'm not an expert on database and its structures. Therefore from my point of view you probably have lost the integrity of the database and which means it's *poof* gone. You can still access your raw data by phpmyadmin and see the stored data, but in order to save it you'll need to export to your hard drive and insert previous data (in this case topics and posts) manually to your new database.Again, I'm not sure if that is the procedure which database should be restored. I think other members who are proficient with database reconstruction would be able to help you out on this one.I think I remember PMing you to upgrade from 1.0.8 to 1.1 RC3. Was it? The reason I'm saying that is because 1.0.8 was known to have security holes... -
I Can't Access My Forum. Please Help SMF Forum error
BuffaloHelp replied to ProtoMan's topic in Web Hosting Support
Your database is corrupt and you must repair your database. If you are unfamiliar with restoration of your database (you should have made a backup, always) or repair process the easiest way is to delete the database, uninstall the script and start from the beginning.Have you installed any language package for your SMF? Have you made an upgrade recently? Sometimes these would lead to crash in database itself. On an occasion if your SMF was older version it might have been someone crashing your SMF database from outside.PS when it's not working why do you assume that it's the server? -
Software That Can Record From Television
BuffaloHelp replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in Software
DVD ROM is different from DVD+R and DVD-R.DVD ROM is/was mainly used with the early version of DVD+-R drive for your computer. DVD-R was initially called DVD general media usage (or general authoring) and was only intended for copy-protected Hollywood releases. While waiting for DVD-R to be released to the general public, companies like Richo, Sony and Phillips (called DVDRW Alliance) made DVD+R and RW format to be used to tap into the new and marketable computer world. When DVD-R made dual layer format, DVD-R was released to the public by Panasonic, Toshiba, and Pioneer relased first 2.4GB then 4.7GB. The Hollywood industry reserves DVD-R DL a 9.6GB disc (that's how you get so many features on a single disc...it used to be on two discs). Bottom line, they all work the same but different players will play only one format. Different players will record on only one format. Thus Sony was the first to release dual format DVD+-R/RW player and recorder. But I am really digressing from this topic. Make a new topic if you have further question. -

Please make your post and offers very clear and specific.Am I correct to understand that you have a script that can divide a hosting account so that it can be used to provide websites for others? If this script involves dividing one hosting account into many different accounts to be hosting for other domains/sub-domains this is illegal under the AUP of Xisto hosting TOS. Xisto does not condone dividing one member's account to provide hosting accounts for other people in terms of using one free hosting account to provide hosting accounts for the many--whether free or paid.

Perhaps... I also think the veteran members should be leading as an example when it comes to upholding Xisto forum rules. This means, the longer you're with this forum more quality posts you should make--not the other way around. It wouldn't be fair for newbies when there are double standards according to membership levels: Meaning "don't post short, brief and one sentence posts for they are spam to our board" when a member since 2004 posts one sentence reply.

In the meantime you search for what was asked, what kind of sound card is it? See if you can identify the manufacture by looking at the PCI sound card board. If you can clearly identify the type and manufacture of the card go to the search engine and search for XP driver. And it's all about downloading, extracting and installing. If you cannot identify the sound card, see if you can type the model number, serial number, any ID or chip's manufacture codes (right on the PCI card's onboard chip). How to identify an unknown card http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Search one of the largest database for drivers http://www.driverguide.com/

You can try using http://www.copyscape.com/ for some assistance. But when I look at a member's total posts I get the general idea of the writing style. Writing style, to me, is like finger prints--very unique to each person. And mods can tell even without a confirm search a particular post has been copied.
