  1. How long you've been hosting with us? http://forums.xisto.com/info.php And you can even make your own script to find out what PHP version and supports you have. Make the following script and just call the file. <?php // Show all information, defaults to INFO_ALL phpinfo(); // Show just the module information. // phpinfo(8) yields identical results. phpinfo(INFO_MODULES); ?> More information on PHPINFO() can be found at http://us3.php.net/phpinfo As you can see iconv is even installed and enabled for Xisto hosting accounts. Flash Player 8 is client based and therefore you have to install that in your own computer, or in visitor's computer. Flash Player is not server based.
  2. How is listing your stats part of contributing to Xisto forum? Have you not read the rules? What about Xisto Readme where it says What topics you should never make? From now on, if your lists of spects/description is not placed under quotes warnings will be issued.
  3. Whoa that was a quick voting session!Congratulation Dawiss! I've never seen voting period last so short It was a good battle and man, you guys are good! Thanks for everyone who cast their votes.
  4. PHP.INI is similar to your WIN.INI where it defines how the script should be behaving, such as where is the library for your script, absolute path, enable/disable certain functions, turn on/off certain modes etc.So I'm not sure what you are asking when you say PHP.INI file size...
  5. NOTICE: Apparently someone didn't notice or search the forum before making a topic. If this thread looks like not flowing with discussion it's because two topics have been merged: one already in existance and another one created afterwards
  6. There was too many connection to our database today. Either someone was trying a faulty script, multiple attempt with errorous code or unstable script. The issue is resolved now. And this topic is closed.PS PLEASE PLEASE do not abuse our database. Xisto lets everyone to host whatever you want and however you want but abusing database with experimental code will make us suffer.
  7. Yes you can access SQL remotely but this is not recommended. When you code please check and double check so that it does not abuse SQL connection tries. Otherwise it will crash or shut down SQL server. As far as Python script goes, OpaQue has not said no to that. However the first sign of abuse or unstable the server admin will disallow your further usage and perhaps lead to account termination. So please make sure that you are not leaving any open "holes." Thank you.
  8. SQL went down due to too many connections at once. I'm not sure what the result will be after reading the error message but the basic problem was that too many connection => looks like hacking => shut it down. Please when making your own SQL code that you check and double check before testing. This will solve many SQL downtime issues.Check your SQL management now and get back to me if it's not working.Topic closed.
  9. IRC and Proxy scripts are forbidden when using Xisto service. If you would like to run IRC script, please visit Xisto - Web Hosting.comThank you.Topic closed.
  10. I have to use them once in a while ever since a member told me my words (either over the Pm or post) seemed tough and stiff. Although I do not mean this to happen or appear that way, I guess the way I write my sentence looks "strict."He and I argued over my syntax. The words are only meaningful if you put your emotion into it, I said. But if the other person is not in a good mood any words given to that person may translate into "angry words/meanings."So once in a while I throw in smilies and winks not just for me, but to convey my true intension of my words--which is to guide and help; not to rule over.
  11. A brief outage for database was reported yesterday. Server admins are restoring SQL server and may have affected few hosting members. We apologize for your down time. Stay tuned and it will come back within 24 hours (it is shorter but just in case). Nothing has been deleted.Thank you.
  12. Well that goes to show you, don't download software from limewire! Anyway, this topic isn't about limewire and how I detest people who steal softwareThere are two formidable free program that I'd like for you to try. One is Spybot Search & Destroy and Hijackthis. You can search for it on line and it will come up as the first item.Run Spybot in regular windows mode, getting rid of most of annoying spy/ad ware. Then try running Spybot under windows safe mode. Make sure that your Spybot is updated with the latest definition file. Then run Hijackthis to catch deeply embedded sleeping adware/spyware. Follow Hijackthis instruction and post it on their forum. Someone will review and tell you which one(s) to remove further.Lastly, update your anti-virus and do a clean sweep.By the way... I don't think anyone should really trust the removal tools. Do you think that they guys who gave you a ad/spyware in the first place would be nice enough to provide you with nice and clean removal tool? I think not.
  13. A Xisto member has written on CHMOD (also known as change mode) on files. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/39104-how-to-chmod-files/ See if you can look that over and utilize it to your installation. The folders mentioned, i.e. about, graphics and cool_links, do not appear to be in your directory anymore. Therefore this topic is closed. If you would like to continue this discussion please PM any moderators and request to be reopened.
  14. All of you missed the part about what topics you should not make under Xisto Readme.Listing items/titles/specs without quality contribution is SPAM!Topic closed.
  15. If you're asking someone to share the copy of IPB script, that is against the law and forum rules. Invision script/software is designated to a specific domain name (this is how IPB can track who is using pirated version of Invision Power Board). And thus sharing (meaning giving a copy) is against the law. Do not attempt to use Xisto services to break the law. For more information regarding how to view your IPB is registered, view http://forums.xisto.com/topic/32982-ipb-easter-eggs-d-can-be-seen-from-Xisto-forums-p/?act=86&t=32982
  16. I'm sorry, the only backup that Xisto server admins run is the entire server files--not SQL. Therefore individual SQL backups are responsibility of individual hosting account owner.See if you performed (by accidently) SQL backup by going under cPanel > BackUp. Otherwise, I'm sorry.
  17. If you look for the sign afterwards, your mind can be pretty strongly forced to "see the pattern"Its candid resemblance that two "3" translated symbols looks like two buildings but MS used that icon as "file" or "document" for such a long time. Sure, if you see the symbols it looks like what exactly saying. But are you saying that it was "death to Jews"? I lost quite lots of friends on September 11, and they were not Jewish. I think reading too much into things past will not let anything to be born or create in the future. If we're so hung up about "what could have been done differently to prevent it..." we're playing mindless blaming games and refusing to move forward. Just because we're moving forward it does not mean we're forgetting the past. However, it is interesting how Q33 NY can be translated. But don't read into things too much
  18. Every Xisto member can take an advantage of Forum Gallery. You can upload it to your own album, write descriptions and share them with all Xisto members. To access your album, top menu - My Controls > (left side) under Menu > Invision Gallery > Your albums > Create Album
  19. When a post is moved you do not "lose" any credits. I don't know where you got that information but it is untrue. Once you've earned hosting credits the only way it can be reversed is by moderators either manually withdraw your credits, placing quote tag or deleting a post/topic.When you reach hosting credits of -0.01 your account is suspended, you will be locked out from cPanel and FTP. Your files, however, will be safe as long as it does not reach -29.99. When your hosting credits reaches -30.00 credits your account is automatically deleted from web host managing system. All your files will be lost and cannot be recovered. You can makeup your hosting credits from negative to positive at any time (before you reach -30 credits). In fact, hosting credit was designed to help you by bringing negative hosting credits to positive side by awarding generous amounts. But once you reach the positive side the credit script will change gears to tailor to your member level--higher the member level/post numbers the lesser credit per post/complete sentence/word it awards.
  20. Well, you can't blame Kevin for someone hacking into the whole server and just defacing the Kevin's folder. I think Kevin should find another host provider (like Xisto - Web Hosting *shamless plug* ) and make sure that server admins are monitoring multiple hacking attempts from one IP or one region. I wonder whoes hosting service Kevin is getting his stuff... but if I was Kevin I would consider dedicated server--to protect my files/web pages and ultimately protect my image.
  21. There is no difference between a single topic deletion and member account deletion that lead to topic deletion. Any deletion of a topic will lead to reduction in hosting credits. If words are not there to credit your hosting credits, do you still expect credits to remain? I think not. <_<It's simple understanding--not a difficult one. When a topic/post you made no longer exists, the credit awarded for that post is also none existance.I think this has been made clear as possible and there's no further "confusion" to hosting credits, topics standing and member existance etc. If you have further question PM me instead of creating a topic.Thank you.
  22. Yes. When a topic is deleted by admins, anyone who was attached to the spam topic will lose hosting credits if he/she is a hosted member. That's why we have REPORT button to report spam topics, instead of blindly replying to the spam topic.REPORT will save your credits.
  23. Every post made to Xisto is important as the next one, even it may have been closed or past long periods of time. When an account is deleted, the member's post is also deleted as well. If current members have made replies their posts are also deleted. This will result in chain reaction of losing credits due to deletion of a topic/post. This is truly unfair for current active members. This is also unlike Xisto forum policy--we value each and every post as long as they are within Xisto forum posting policy. As you can see, not one post is better or more important than another. All posts are equal in value. Furthermore, by deleting an account it may set hypocrite standards towards members who are returning and members who are here frequently. Some members were known to return after 2 years of absence. This is due to personal reason or finally realized that nothing beats Xisto hosting service.
  24. You should have paid closer attention to the process page. It does not specify for you to enter the WWW portion of the domain. You will need to request for domain change again with 15 credits. As far as addon domain, you have been corrected with current state of addon domain number. Your new domain shows correct IP address for hosting. Give some time until it resolves it completely. It looks like it has few hours/days to go before completely resolved. For more information, enter your domain name in the website. http://dnsreport.com/
  25. Members hosted with Xisto free web hosting, no ads can create online access email accounts with their domain names. The most commonly used interface is SqurrelMail and Hored. For those who wishes to manage all incoming email with different accounts, Google hosted email account is one of the better ones--you can set different reply-to accounts and have the receiver see your domain in the "FROM" line.So how is e10 gmail account differ from regular Gmail (which most of us have it by now) and creating hosted email account from Gmail themselves?
