  1. I believe there are serveral HijackThis support forum where they go through line by line and explain what to do with your log report. Follow this link http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?spost&p=2091 and see if they can be a help. Remember to read and follow their forum direction.
  2. Mail Fordwarding Domain name does not forward any email unless you mean MX records. Mail forwarding listed under Xisto - Web Hosting means you want to "capture" all incoming email to your domain and send it to somewhere else. Well, you're part of Xisto hosting member. Your cPanel already does that ONLY if you change your domain name using the Process page, addon or park. Domain Forswarding This option is to send any traffic that goes to site X to site Y. If this is your first purchase of a domain name, do not use it. If you purchase other domains in the future and want to send web traffic to the "key" site, use the forwarding option. Managed DNS This is crucial for any domain names, because you need to control where your domain name "points" to your hosting service. The most important option under DNS control is the nameserver change option. Some domain name registrar will not let you control your own DNS. Visit https://xisto.com/ for more domain name purchasing details and payment methods. Thank you.
  3. A tutorial was written regarding mass file upload. Please refer to the tutorial section for more details of the following. You can upload ZIP files (either sectioned zip or the whole structure as zip) and use cPanel to unzip. This will save time and refreshing of your directory listing when each file is successfully uploaded. And since unzip takes server's CPU it will be almost instantaneous unzip. Try this method for any large amount of upload you have to do. Further reading: How to save uploading time...
  4. Please read all pinned topics and try again. You need to meet criteria before your request can be fulfilled. Thank you.
  5. Gamma server back online with full access to cPanel. License expiration issue has been resolved. I do apologize for any inconvenices.Database is also online. Everything seems to be fine.Leaving the topic open for a while. If server seems to go down again, please be patient until it is resolved.
  6. Always be patient guys. If you are upset that your work was lost due to server down, it is best advised that you make frequent backups next time. Please do not make posts like this next time. You know in the past the server goes through regular maintenance and results about 1 hour of no connection. Gamma server status is go and this topic is closed.
  7. The reason isn't clear to me at this moment but I'm assuming that the unusual "length" of your subdomain name could have caused bit longer for your name to be propagated through out the internet nodes. But once it was all said and done your URL sub-domain and everything else seems to be running fine as usual.Topic resolved and closed.
  8. Simply put, Zero Ziat, you cannot change your hosting's domain name without changing its nameservers. Therefore you cannot change the domain name to which you do not own, yet.
  9. I forgot to tell you one other thing: be near your router when doing this. Some houses have lead or dense insulators that might block or interfer with good connection. Try with direct line of sight (meaning nothing is blocking the path between your computer and the router.Try limiting anything that is radio frequency generator, i.e. lights, TV, cell phone, cordless etc.And did you find out if your SSID matches one that you assigned in the router?
  10. Sigh...When changing nameservers of a domain, it will take from 24-72 hours BEFORE it is properly propagated through out the internet nodes. This means, it will take some time before ALL internet servers, providers to update the information that your domain name points to your hosting server. Wait few more hours/days before you trying it again.PS this issue and topic has been covered many times. Please read through PINNED topics made by OpaQue for more information. Always refer to Xisto Readme. If you feel that a topic should be included please feel free to PM me
  11. Go to the Process page https://support.xisto.com/ and click on option #9 to check the validity of your hosting setup. Although your sub-domain is not working accessing gamma.xisto.com/~yourCpanelName is working fine. You can access your cPanel using Xisto's IP address: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  12. mo malone, please request ONCE in our forum. Do not post the same request in another thread. For those who asked to be invited, all invitation have been sent out by me. If you have not received Xisto invitation please PM me with your email address.Thank you.
  13. We have so many topics that discuss the same thing. It's time for you to learn how to search in our forum. And this belongs in Computers > Software section. Please know the correct section to post. Please make your topic title more elabroate next time. Topic closed. Please continue your discussion at the *PINNED* topic here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Notice from BuffaloHELP: Leaving here just in case other members can't understand our forum rules. Topic title modified.
  14. Please do not assume or spread a rumor with something that does not have a merit. If your cPanel was hacked, don't you think your files would have been deleted by now or defaced? Think about it.Also note that all other members were seeing the correct site but you. That's why I thought your DNS was hijacked. Xisto server admins reported no external hacking attempt on Xisto hostings.Refer to the discussion I left on your topic above.
  15. No. The member who posted regarding misdirected host name was just an isolated incident. The only affected person was the domain owner and the rest of members who replied saw the correct site. That's why I recommended that perhaps a localized spyware might have been redirecting the traffic in the first place. If Xisto cPanel is at security risk it will also be localized to that member's cPanel. But since the articles do not specify which version of cPanel can be exploited, it's hard to say if Xisto is safe or not. As far as I can undestand it, it looks like it's limited to HostGator at the moment. Looks like someone/people weren't happy with HostGator? But the method is not that they were attacking cPanel directly but using unsecure IE to "hack" the cPanle access. This means when a computer user failed or ignored to update to Windows security latest patches the IE browser can pickup this malicious codes that can execute when cPanel is accessed with infected IE. The worse virus for computers is uneducated users
  16. Let's try this...Let's use jlhaslip's CSS image gallery script to make a city map. When hovering it will show the description of that section.Divide the city map into 5 categories1 - residential area2 - commercial area (shopping)3 - parks (city park and sports arena)4 - industrial area (factories)5 - business district (tall buildings and apartments)And each submission by members will go under an appropriate category. is it too much? Keep them all in one place?
  17. I thought about that... it's a good idea. But setting the X number of buildings to show before the pagination isn't too practical... don't you think? If a browser's resolution is smaller than set number of buildings you would still end up with scrolling to the right. And I see that when we add more buildings it will take forever to load for some members. Hummm... dilemma... having all buildings on one page would seem like more of a real city block but it may take longer time to load.Any other suggestions? How do those Sim City programs handle this? How about a master map of Xisto Community, and when clicked certain block grid it will show buildings for that street/grid/block? For example, residential block would only have residental buildings...just like a real city landscape.
  18. Logically your point makes sense, arbd, but a brain--especially human brain--is far more sophisticated than herd of buffalos (no pun to my name )It is true that alcohol will supress majority of brain functions. But the brain has the ability to bypass the malfunctioning axon and remap the brain path. This has been proven over and over for many years. For example, a blind person developing an extra sense of higher hearing to move through daily tasks of life. The "slow" axon of brain cell will slowly fade or die away while a new neuron will emerge and relink the missing axon. But the rate of regeneration of new neurons will slowly fade away as we age. The only way to replce these missing axons by new neurons is to keep stimulating the brain with new information and training them to retain and recall. That why learning never stops and should never stop. But this is another topic.Alcohol is bad for your body only if you abuse it--and many of us do abuse it. And by no means I'm condoning alcohol consumption. A moderate consumption is what I'm referring. But alcohol does not lead to attacking just weak brain cells. Brain cells die whether you do or not do. It's a normal biological function. And there's no order of which cells die out first. I think instead of making an effort of keeping what is remaining of brain cells, make an effort to regenerate as much as we can.
  19. Have a bit of patience while system updates.Member status changed, topic resolved and now closed.
  20. This was one of the projects I was plannig to revive... but still pending on the domain name. The new tentative domain will be annex.trap17.com and will continue this project as soon as I have the sub-domain. Please stay tuned. UPDATE http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is now open. It is still under phase of developting. I am making it as automated as possible... so if you guys can help please input at will As you can see, please make your background trasparent as possible. Avoid PNG whenever you can... IE is stupid and cannot understand PNG transparency. Maximum size is still 200 width by 400 height. For those who are good at programming, I wrote a quick PHP script to show all directory files under this directory. What I'd like to do is show the block ending and block beginning. Let's say a picture of beginning block is called begin_block.gif and ending block is called end_block.gif. I want to have this begin_block.gif, 4 images and end_block.gif. And this sequence will repeat until there's no more. When there's no more in the directory, it will insert end_block.gif. The index file <?php$path="../community";$narray=array();$dir_handle = @opendir($path) or die("Unable to open $path please notify the administrator. Thank you.");echo "Testing Community Project...<br /><br />\n";$i=0;while($file = readdir($dir_handle)){ if($file != '.' && $file != '..' && $file !='index.php') { $narray[$i]=$file; $i++; }}echo "<body bgcolor='#f2f2f2'><table><tr>";for($i=0; $i<sizeof($narray); $i++){echo "<td valign='baseline'><img src=$narray[$i]></td>";}echo "</tr></table>";//closing the directoryclosedir($dir_handle);?> Okay, let's get this project another go! Future development: -insert side-walks at the bottom -insert crosswalk -insert cars -insert background (Day/Night) according to server time -any other suggestions?
  21. The alternative is to PARK the domain. This means you can have altscripts.trap17.com and altscripts.net to point to the one hosting account. This method is used when you don't want to lose the traffic already coming to your sub-domain or do not have enough time to alert all members who visit your site. The slight issue with parking a domain is if you have <A HREF= as your sub-domain rather than relative link, i.e. <A HREF="images/file etc... you will need to go back and change. This applies true with changing your domain name with 15 credits. But the point here made is this--when you purchase a domain name is usually to establish branding name, right? So instead of showing sub-domain you want to show your domain name at all times.
  22. You can join Xisto's ring by reading this topic http://forums.xisto.com/topic/38607-Xisto-on-myspace-orkut-all-members-invited/ And welcome to our Xisto forum community. Please take this time to review Xisto Readme (my signature) and understand what Xisto community is all about. Topic title is very importat so refrain from "help me, I need help" titles. If you have any questions feel free to ask. But most of all, search the forum first. Thanks.
  23. http://benheck.com/Games/Xbox360/x360_page_1.htm Keep in mind that these guys are GENIUS!!! You take apart the brand new Xbox 360, a LCD monitor to create something that has not been tested, yet. I was heavily into case moding a while back. I turned Sony 300 CD changer to a computer case--complete with automatic door open and tray ejecting, front port USB and Firewire, vacuum fluorescent display, blue light power LED... the works. And at the end it looked as thought nothing had changed. A stock look. I should upload a photo one day. Read them through and be inspired Something to look forward to before you click on the above link.
  24. Searching the forum you'll note that your suspended account will resume 1 hour *AFTER* you reached +4 credits from negative hosting credit. When you reach -30 your hosting will be automatically terminated and nothing can be recovered after that. When your hosting is unsuspended it's nothing different from how you left it. No, it will not resolve your issue of deleting just about ever folders you had which screwed up your hosting account.Topic resolved. Closed.
