  1. 1) gamma.xisto.com/~(insert your cpanel user ID here)2) you are using the old and WRONG IP address that you typed above. The new IP is 64.69.46.210. But better yet, use your sub-domain.trap17.com/cpanel for bettter access.
  2. I am not 100% sure but the previous cpanel version for both Xisto and Xisto was10.6.0-RELEASE-158 (the last time I made a demo of cpanel)Upgrade was a complete success. However, when new activation is requested it's not able to add new users. OpaQue hopes to resolve this issue by tonight. Just to keep all of you on the same page, OpaQue finished upgrading last night and trained a new technician to support gamma accounts.
  3. I have always purchased from my local computer stores. And I have been using Western Digital for past 8 years. I have yet to see them failing on me.I have had two Maxtor drives and one of them died after making a really loud noise. I sent it back to this manufacture (after 3 years of operation) they sent me a refurbished drive. I didn't like a refurb but hey, free replacement... not bad.Never tried Seagate, Fuji or IBM drives. I've heard good and bad things. So I personally recommend the Western Digital. Try getting the 8MB cache instead of 16MB. It will save you almost 40% in cost and you can't even notice the difference. They are all 7200RPM now-a-days. I rather have TWO 120GB drives than ONE 250GB drive.. but that's just me.
  4. Thank you for being so patient. The recent issue with cpanel was due to cpanel update. Full report coming soon.Topic is closed and look for a message from me in the forum.

  7. Recent cpanel issue was due to cpanel upgrade.Full report coming soon. Thank you for being so patient.Topic closed.EDIT***cpanel issue has been resolved and all applicants were successful in creating new hosting account with Xisto. Thank you for your patience and we hope that you enjoy our Free Web Hosting, No Ads.
  8. Your hosting exists. Check gamma.xisto.com/~your_cpanel_id/ The reason I'm giving you this format is you have not specified your URL.I was able to see your default index page.
  9. I sincerely apologize for your inconvenience.Just few hours ago we spotted issues with cPanel on gamma server (where all free web hosting accounts are established).Yes, looks like you'll need to wait until we can resolve this matter. I hope this will be resolved by tomorrow or earlier.I'll try to keep you and everybody up to date.
  10. Because cPanel is installed in the root "/" directory. Hosting member's files are listed under /home directory. Just like you would place your files under /public_html ... but you still have your root directory that saves your settings, email, ftp information etc... get it? It's like cpanel within a cpanel.
  11. Do not be alarmed. Your account is not compromised. When you try to access your cPanel and you get this message: Please understand that this problem was discovered late last night when OpaQue just went to bed Support for gamma server has been sent and will be addressed as soon as possible. Please use FTP to modify your files in the mean time. Thank you for your patience
  12. Your cpanel is not hacked. Gamma server is facing "/" directory disk full issue. That's the reason you cannot access your cPanel.Try using FTP to modify directory/file that you desire.Your forum probably was defaced because the older version of your forum opened for security exploit. It's been going around the whole net community, not just for Xisto. There's no need to be alarmed.
  13. UPDATEDue to a time zone difference OpaQue will not get the support message until later tonight (EDT, GMT-4) around 11pm.It seems that "/" directory for gamma server is full, according to the report. Hosting members are under "/home" directory and it's not even 30% used... So my speculation is that "/" is used for dump or cache (not too sure). But OpaQue will fix this as soon as possible.
  14. It is unclear at the moment if the space is really running out or being allocated for something else. All hosting servers have more than adequate space and should not be running out of any space. Until I know it further please be patient.Server admins have been contacted as of this post.
  15. This issue is handled via PM between idle and I.Thus, topic closed.
  16. People play so much that our forum is filled with discussions. Take a look here http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?actite=%2Bwarcraft Please search the forum BEFORE you make a new topic.
  17. In short, yes.Make sure you follow the hard drive's installation guide. You must check to see the one at the end is set to MASTER and the middle one is set to SLAVE. This is explained with your new purchasing hard drive. If not, you can search the internet for quick and simple instruction.Once you installed SLAVE drive, simple start your computer and use Windows (I'm assuming you run MS WINDOWS) administrator function (Start > Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Disk Management) select Disk 1 (because Disk 0 is your c or only drive) right click and format. That's it.PS some hard drives require that the first drive is to be set to MASTER with SLAVE setting. I'm talking about the jumper pin settings.
  18. Everything should be back to normal except for the process page (new firewall is set too high, I'm afraid)Until we can resolve this issue (hopefully in 30 days) please be patient with us. For all related questions please feel free to PM me.Thank you. Acting Admin.Topic closed.
  19. During these few setbacks in Xisto, I will allow moderators to deny requests that deem unfit for Xisto :PWe apologize for the delay. Please follow Xisto forum rules and apply with confidence!Thank you.Acting Admin.
  20. Either your browser disabled javascript, you were using FireFox or the mouse cursor was not on the picture at all times. If you're using IE, try first clicking on the image (you'll see that it zooms in and out on default size, works with FF), and then place the mouse cursor at the picture all times and scroll with your mouse wheel.
  21. idle,You have not completed the activation process. Please try again.
  22. Trap17 and Xisto free web hosting, no ads, do not allow any IRC related scripts to be hosted.Furthermore, Xisto - Web Hosting does not allow IRC related scripts to be hosted.Since this is Xisto free web hosting, no ads, provided service (including this forum) please refrain from advertising other hosting services here or anywhere in our forum.Thank you.
  23. Trap17 forum asks all members not to post referral links in our forum. And we have to uphold that other forums would have a similar rule as well. Xisto boasts on spam-less forum and thus should not allow to spread spam, related with the name of Xisto, on other forums/email/advertisement. It, I believe, is a proper etiquette.Xisto does ask that you place a small link back from your site to Xisto. But this is a pure voluntary.
  24. Point well taken with taking your life in your own hands. But I'm not sure if lawyers and airline companies see it that way. That's the key issue that I cannot see beyond this "who is responsible for lives of passengers" hurdle, to acknowledge your idea Sorry.
