Yes, it's about to go bad or you have a bad drive. When you push in the cd tray and it stops "vibrating" to the point that it makes noise tells me that the closing mechanism is faulty. Perhaps it was damaged during shipping either to you or to the retail place it was sent.Especially that your laptop is still new (well you didn't mention how old or how long you had your laptop) confirms that the drive is faulty. As Saint_Michael mentioned, use your manufacture's warranty policy and have it checked out.

A Computer Infected With Ravmone.exe how to catch it?
BuffaloHelp replied to Grafitti's topic in Software
Try running FIXWAREOUT by following this article http://forums.xisto.com/topic/43465-topic/?findpost=297041 Although the situation is different, FixWareout does nice job of finding other hidden trojan in your system. I would suggest that you format/delete your flashdrive and all other infected external storages and perform your computer system flush at the end. This way you're not getting infected again when you insert your external storage devices. Have you tried Hijackthis to find out what else can be running in the background? -
After considering CMOS clear, you should also consider replacing the motherboard. Sounds like you changed the PSU and CMOS battery. But if the problem still persists I would think to replace your motherboard. There is a possibility that when the first PSU was going bad it might have damaged the motherboard.

There are few terms we should discuss when comparing Apples (no pun intended) and Oranges.DDR2, SODIMM, Serial ATA, Intel, system BUS, etc are all standard terms these days to describe the hardware specification requirements. Since they are standard terms you can say that IMAC and PC are equal in specification wise. But that's not how it is calculated in the practical world. It's all about the Operating System (OS). To draw an anology it's like having two identical racing cars with different fuels injected. One driver will perfer one type of fuel compare to the other driver. This is like the OS. How fast (as per calculation wise) depends on what each computer is calculating with which operating system. Going back to the fuel type: one fuel might be better in high temperature with heavier load while one type might be better in low temperature with straight-away. It is all depended on how each manufacture designed the OS to function and simulate the pleasure when operating the machine. But it doesn't stop there. You can have a regular stock car driven by a professional race car driver verses a high performance race car driven by a regular driver. Which do you think would handle the race track better? The final usability comes from the actual user of a computer. A 10 year old can have the most expensive computer in the world that offers to take over the world, yet if he/she only plays computer games with it the machine is as only good as the game itself. But the manufactures of computer hardware know the vanity in each of us. That's why they appear to our vanity by customizing, marketing and promoting certain key phrases to lure our hunger

Suggestion For This Site The initial posting requirement
BuffaloHelp replied to Dez Ironer's topic in The Vent
Knowing where to place your topic is highly important in our forum. We have Suggestion forum section. Please know the layout of our forums. It is frustrating to find a free hosting service that will meet individual's needs. But in order to be satisfied, first one has to be willing to go forth with investing certain time period. For this trial time, Xisto offers Hosting Plan#1 where you only need to accumulate 10 hosting credits. To earn hosting credits, all you need to do is contribute with quality. That is the only requirement. It's not that hard, is it? I have replied to your other post. But to see BEFORE you decide to host with Xisto, first make sure your script meets our PHP and SQL version. You can see our current versions via http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Our service also provides each individual with cPanel. A quick demo of cPanel is listed under Hosted Members Area OR visit our Xisto Readme page for all other important topics. Our hosting credit system eliminates inactive accounts automatically when the hosting credit reaches -30 credits. It is all automated including bring suspended account to active account. For more information please refer to Xisto Readme. Thank you. -
Moved to Support section. You can find what version of PHP and SQL by looking here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ As long as your poMMo meets our current PHP and SQL versions you can proceed with our hosting service. The reason POP3 mail may be limited for some free hosting services is due to spam. POP3 carries the origin of hosting server's IP/reference name and when SPAM is detected by receiving demon, such as Yahoo, Gmail etc, they will place anything from free web hosting header to spam list. This is the first and quickest way from putting any hosting company under the "black list." To avoid most free web hosting companies disable the full usage of POP3. Xisto, however, does not limit POP3 service. In return of this service enabled we simply ask that you honor our service in good faith. This means simply do not use our free web hosting service to spam. When you do it calls for an immediate termination of your hosting and you will not be welcomed back. We also place highest responsibility to each user of his/her account. So please double check your script so that it cannot be compromised by external user(s). You can send email with header (full MX header) by configuring your Outlook with Xisto's MX server. For more on that, please visit our Hosted Members Area and look for the pinned topic.

Cpanel Fantastico Part 7 Of My 7 Part Tutorial
BuffaloHelp replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in General Discussion
So quality contribution is adding your own words to existing list of software and script? That's interesting. How about describing each and every script/software with your own opinion or a screen shot? That's quality posting.Last time I checked, a walk through is not the same as tutorial. Besides, this thread is not for you to discuss or defend what tutorial is. Tutorial must be 100% original content and all copied sources shall be under QUOTE or proper bbcodes. Remember?! -
In the past announcement OpaQue lost his dearest and most valuable friend as well as Xisto's server administrator.Recent gamma server issues are due to upgrades and maintenance of cPanel to bring you better and updated version of cPanel. However, since Derek is no longer with us, OpaQue had to train few new server admins and they are doing their best. Please be patient until everything is sorted out. Xisto is doing the best to bring you Free Web Hosting, No Ads without additional complications.I thank you for your attention.

About Honorary Titles What are they and who assigns them?
BuffaloHelp replied to michaelper22's topic in Web Hosting Support
For those members who are not moderators but are just as moderating our forum as moderators were given a special title from me.At first I felt it was a good idea to involve this forum as "community" rather than admins and mods then members. But like any given plan, over time it slowly fades away.I have issues Spam Patrol in the profile for those who had Spam Patrol signature. If you rather not have this signature, you can remove and PM me to remove your additional title as well. This additional profile title serves me when I need to search members with certain title, such as GFX Crew. Under member search, additional option field can search for specific "value", in addition to honorary title, I can search for members who have expired hosting token, cpanel username etc. -
Cpanel Fantastico Part 7 Of My 7 Part Tutorial
BuffaloHelp replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in General Discussion
Summary yes, but is it a tutorial? Since when copying listing is considered as quality contribution?? -
I am confident that your issue will be resolved once you follow my method posted regarding SMF installation. Your topic and post http://forums.xisto.com/topic/43509-parse-errors-while-installing-smf-board/ resolved that issue. FireFTP seems to be mishandling your uploads. Instead of using the browser extension to upload, please use FTP client such as FireZilla, SmartFTP or CuteFTP, and your parse errors will disappear. This topic is closed. Please PM a moderator if you would like to continue this discussion.

Parse Errors While Installing Smf Board
BuffaloHelp replied to detportal's topic in Web Hosting Support
Some FTP programs are better than others when distinguishing from binary mode and ASCII mode. Since I am not using FireFTP I am going to make the following conclusion. The actual software client, such as WsPro, SmartFTP, CuteFTP, FireZilla are designed to either automatically detect the file type or force to certain transfer mode. But as far as I can tell, FireFTP lacks this capability and it forces to be in ASCII mode at all times. This is bad when it reads "\n" or a blank return as "end of line" which then "re-writes" as "END", the very same error you received. In Binary mode, it transfers character by character. This method takes longer when uploading but since it is in Binary mode (zeros and ones) it does not "re-write" anything other than the original character. When you visit some script support forum, they actually tell you which files to upload in Binary mode and which files in ASCII mode. This is also known as UTF-8 mode (auto, force, never).Regarding not hosting ZIP files pertains to illegal files, such as cracks and keygens, MP3, unlicensed software, expletive materials and pictures. SMF is free license thus you can upload it as ZIP and use cPanel to extract. For more information and discussion on cPanel ZIP and UNZIP, please look through our Tutorial section.Topic resolved and closed.Since this topic also deals with FireFTP (which I think it stinks! ) if you would like to continue this topic please PM a moderator. -
What Is Maximum Capacity Of Astahost MySQL Database?
BuffaloHelp replied to Mutlu's topic in Programming
No, the size of your database does not count towards your hosting disk space. Basically, think of database as free hosting place for your data files that is an extra add-on to your hosting pace. Therefore you can create how large or how many database you'd like as long as you are well within Xisto Free Web Hosting, No Ads AUP and TOS. Not bad for free hosting place, huh? -
As of this post, FTP and Cpanel are up and running 100%. While FTP was available during some downtime of cPanel, FTP finally timed out when gamma server rebooted.By the way, please refrain from "assuming" something regarding how we are structured here in Xisto--forum server is *NOT* on hosting server. They are not related at all! If forum seemed slow it's because either I was deleting mass spam posts or running cpu and forum rebuild. I repeat, forum and hosting are not in the same server. How many times do I have to repeat this? :)If you meant to say forum seemed slow and maybe forum server also was undergoing cpanel maintenance... then please say so CLEARLY. Do not post and confuse readers.Topic closed. Thanks for your patience everyone.

Error When Trying To Log To Cpanel Is it normal or?
BuffaloHelp replied to matak's topic in Web Hosting Support
Have you checked out the Announcement section?SEARCH first. Always read the Announcements. -
It's a short notice but server admins decided to perform a routine maintenance to our cPanels. It was hoping that it would finish over night when it was less inconvenience to our hosting members...but nothing ever goes according to plan in hosting world Please be patient and until cPanel comes back. All Free Web Hosting request will be ON HOLD until further notice. You can continue to upload/download files to edit via FTP software. Thank you everyone.

Parse Errors While Installing Smf Board
BuffaloHelp replied to detportal's topic in Web Hosting Support
I am running SMF 1.1 RC3. And it was upgraded from 1.0 version. Both install and upgrade were done over FTP upload (bypassing Fantastico!). And they work just fine.I have added few mods for the board so they too are working just fine. Before we go any further, how are you uploading to your hosting space? Have you unzip the whole thing in your local harddrive and uploading one by one style file upload? Or are you uploading the whole zip file and letting cPanel to unzip it? Which FTP software, if any, are you using and have you set "auto detection" for file types? -- this is because some SMF files need to be uploaded in BINARY mode and some in ASCII mode. -
1 Week To Go - Nintendo Wii Europe release
BuffaloHelp replied to edandbet's topic in Computer Gaming
Yes, UK's release date is later than US release. Please specify the location next time posting. The topic starter has the responsibility to state clear communication when making a new topic.Topic title modified. -
Perhaps the point to this topic is that the login name (or the email handle) is already taken and cannot be registered by someone else. For example, if you want "nintendo.2006@yahoo" as your email address in UK, you cannot get it anymore since it's already taken. What the topic starter is offering is a chance to own this account since it's already taken.

I've ran Hijackthis multiple times in the past and about a week before I performed my original post task...but still found nothing under the report. Either my computer was blocked from "reporting" the trojan found or I may have serious computer issue than I think. Maybe it's time for complete wipe out, reformat and complete fresh install, again.
