cpanel IP address is obviously wrong and OpaQue did not made the change to reflect the new IP address.Always use "yourdomain"/cpanel to access your cpanel control. When you change to new nameserver, it takes few days to resolve it properly. As seeing as your domain is loading correctly I'm going to assume that this problem is resolved.

After .htm Overwrite... Images Do Not Show Up
BuffaloHelp replied to skedad's topic in General Discussion
skedad,Nice site! You have a beautiful family :blink:To fix your image, fixFROMimg src="../skemb_site/banner_browser.jpg"TOimg src="banner_browser.jpg"I believe in the making of your site using your program, the link was saved according to your file directory of your computer. In my opinion, whether JPG, PNG or GIF it does not matter. JPG is preferred mostly because you can compress the image without losing a whole lot of image "quality." JPG offers better compression (meaning smaller file size) so that it can load faster and still have a good quality of image (without distorting or losing detail). -
Can I Connect An Old Hdd To A More Newer Pc?
BuffaloHelp replied to Dungeon Master's topic in Hardware Workshop
If your plan is to use the old HD to format and install fresh OS, or use it as a backup/storage space the answer is yes (as mentioned above assuming the old HD and new motherboard are compatible). However, if you are under the impression that the old HD with old OS will work with the new motherboard and new PC configuration chances are very slim. Since the Windows 2000, Microsoft's HCL made sure that you can't just swap any HD and make it work (thank a lot Bill ). The last OS to do this was Windows 98SE. And we all know what kind of junk Windows ME was... and I'm beginning to feel that Windows Vista may share the much "boos" as Windows ME.All other *nix OS may recover from one set of hardware profile to another without giving you a headache.FolkRockFanI, too, picked up miniIDE/IDE/SATA to USB cable converter and it has made my PC repair gig much easier. God bless the geeks for thinking that one up It's about time! -

Moderators.... Does astahost need more?
BuffaloHelp replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in Web Hosting Support
This is a troubling news... I don't know the remedy for this one. What do you guys suggest Xisto to revamp? Obviously, Xisto needs revamping..but to which direction, more categories? Please suggest how we can improve our forum. Xisto is well known that professional topics are present. However this may have "scared" other potential forum members along the way. Instead of loosening up the forum rule, perhaps we can add more categories? I don't know. -

World?s First 300 Gb 2.5″ Sata Hard Disk Drive
BuffaloHelp replied to benzkids's topic in Hardware Workshop
I don't think it's about offering 300GB drives to laptop users is the issue. It's about if people really find it useful and if the manufactures can offer laptop featuring 300GB to consumers at the target price (between $400 ~ $1000). And also have to do with NEED verses WANT. Consumers are yet to comprehend the full usage of 100GB except for storing lots of movies and mp3 files. So it's all about storing stuff that people may or may not need. Then how do manufactures market 300GB? Just store more stuff in there? :PI would rather have manufactures of hard drives to continue to research on SSD (solid state drive) so that my laptop can truly be, in the sense of, portable. I picked up Sandisk SSD 32GB for $200 (retail price around $600) few weeks ago and my laptop battery is lasting about 1 hour or more on an average. The specification and reviews are claiming 85% reduction on power usage by switching to SSD from traditional RPM drives. I don't know about the percentage but I sure can see 3.5 hours of operation time verses 2.5 hours before the switch. -
Bandwidth Count Up Problems in cpanel
BuffaloHelp replied to dastrophy's topic in Web Hosting Support
I believe the Web Stats are malfunctioning, causing the rest of stats to show zero in bandwidth usage. In any case, your bandwidth will not run out unless you actually go over your plan's limit. You can see the rough usage by going to BANDWIDTH icon under your cpanel. In the mean time, support will be made of this report.Thank you. -
This process is called EXIF and it's used by any product if they are programmed to use it, either in JPEG or RAW or even with TIFF. On the side note on EXIF, Nikon and Sony are now featuring EXIF with GPS coordinates thereby when viewed under their propriety software the picture information (EXIF) will now show the location, lens used, aperture, focus, etc. TIFF and RAW are still compressed except the image quality is not compromised. TIFF is longer standing universal format in publishing illustrations. RAW still needs to be processed to be viewed or printed. Consider RAW as your "negative" stage and the software, i.e. Photoshop, is your "dark-room." Both TIFF and RAW can be used for taking high quality scenic, still life photographs. RAW tends to have a bit smaller file size after saving. However, as you might know already, the file size depends on the color pallet and the brightness of the "scene"--daylight shots are usually larger in file size compare to night shots. And as mentioned earlier since TIFF is universal format in both PC and MAC world, you can read/view the photograph without the 3rd party's software/decoder. RAW may require a 3rd software/decoder to process the image. Since RAW needs to be processed even after you download it to your computer/processor, you can set DPI to whatever the resolution you want. This is highly important if you are going to publish it for a magazine. Some magazines require that your DPI is set to no lower than 300DPI. I've worked with one advertising agency which they requested that I develop my images to 600DPI always. Boy my computer never had a workout like that! TIFF is usually preset to 72~240DPI pending you modify the default setting prior to your shooting. DPI does not note that it is compressed or lesser quality. DPI is only important when publishing a print. As mentioned above, for a website DPI is usually on 72 and compression rating of 60 or lower (100 being no additional compression from a formate already in JPEG). So, the question is where would you be using your image? If it's not for an article, newspaper or something else, you may need to shoot in RAW or TIFF. But with these settings you cannot do continues shots. Continues shots are for action, press coverage or paparazzi style shots that require multiple shoots and select the one which fits best illustration. In which case Rebel XT is not the camera you should be considering. Canon 1D series were designed especially for this kind of environment. Rebel may do 12 shots before the next 15 seconds delay under high quality JPEG, it only presents 3 shots before 30 seconds delay. 1D Mark III can shoot 10 pictures per second. Under RAW format 1D Mark III can produce 15 continues shots under 3 seconds with 20 seconds of delay until the next ready* (these are not your typical laboratory experimented numbers. I have field tested them out and the numbers were from my own personal notes during my test drive ). You can speed up your file saving time by switching to Sandisk Ultra III. Canon cameras were responding very highly to the new Sandisk technology. I have been a long time Sandisk Ultra II (the earlier generation to Ultra III) user and I was very impressed with my D-60, 10D and 20D by Canon. (Side note: the difference between Ultra and Extreme is the environment operating temperature) JPEG Super Fine mode on most cameras 6.x megapixels or higher are acceptable enough for all newspaper prints and poster illustrations. But this statement is made in understanding that we're still talking about DSLR and not your typical point and click digital cameras. Because as we all know that 3.x megapixel camera with 77mm filter (size) takes better photograph than 7.x megapixel camera with button lens. The only professional environment that really gives a fuss is the magazine prints--they demand the best of the best, and still they end up digitally airbrushing touch ups at the end.

downsy007,We sincerely apologize for not being able to resolve your issue before it was too late for you. When you decide to host with Xisto in the future, be sure to PM me and I will try to make it up to you. There was DNS issue in the server cluster and downsy007's account was right in the middle of it. Let me start my findings with a correction to my last post. When I looked at your hosting credits, DeM0nFiRe, I used different script to measure your hosting credits. Well, this script rounded off your credits and shows as 5. It was actually 4.88. This post is 2 days from my last reply and it shows that only 2 credits (2 days worth of hosting) was taken away from the time I checked your credits (4.88 to be accurate). With 124 posts (unchanged from my observation in 2 days) your hosting credits diminished as it should be. Continue to monitor your regression and let me know if you see a discrepancy. This goes to all those who are monitoring his/her hosting credits. Thank you.
-
Dash is included when the account was activated. Sending support ticket. Stay tuned.
-
Document your regression by capturing your screen. In the mean time, GMT -5 5PM your current credit = 5.Checking back tomorrow unless you post.August 30 (your last login) you would have lost 4 credits including today since you were gone for 4 days. That's Sept. 3 minus Aug 30.I'll check your hosting credit number (pending that you do not make additional posts to earn ) tomorrow around this time.

Making My Private Ragnarok Server How do you make one...
BuffaloHelp replied to Wyroba's topic in Computer Gaming
According to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Topic closed. -
Try using the questionable power supply with a "known" motherboard. A "known" motherboard would be a motherboard that fits PSU and known to be in working condition. This will tell you if the power supply is bad. Or you can get really cheap PSU tester on the net these days (gawd, I paid over $200 back in the day).Once you eliminate PSU problem, then move on to CPU, RAM then MB etc.

Stability Is Beginning To Become A Severe Issue. On Alpha :(
BuffaloHelp replied to XDelivery's topic in Web Hosting Support
I can shed some light on your inability to view Xisto - Web Hosting.com's site. Please send your IP with subject "Inability to view Xisto - Web Hosting" along with your IP address to support{at}Xisto - Web Hosting[dot]com and mention the possibility of your IP address in the block list. This isn't to justify that you have been banned, but some activities such as too many failed connection attempts or repeated improper connections may have triggered auto protection of your account and the server. The rest is being worked on by OpaQue and his Xisto - Web Hosting support team. We appreciate your patience. -
OpaQue and I are working on this issue. Please stay tuned for an update.

Does Our Cpanel Have Safe Mode Turned On Or Off
BuffaloHelp replied to Dominus's topic in Websites and Web Designing
If you're referring to PHP safe mode, all our servers feature safe mode OFF for your higher coding experience. Do you need this mode to be ON? -
I am glad to have you on board. It is my earnest wish that you utilize Xisto free web hosting, no ads in a way that helps your career. That would be sweet~! I would recommend getting your own domain name so that whatever you build from now on you can take it with you. It's never to late to consider yourself a true professional. Domain names are no more than two cups of coffee these days (unless you are a Starbucks fan which one latte grande will cover 1 year cost of a domain name ha ha ha). If posting in our forum takes you away from what you love the most, you can always graduate to our cheap paid hosting service by Xisto - Web Hosting plans.
