Reavolution Intense Visual Gratification
BuffaloHelp replied to Reaver's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I like your 5th signature, especially the way you incorporated your handle to the helmet. And your last one's personal sig at the lower left corner is, in the words of Paris Hilton, "hot."I'm noticing that you have that "hidden dragon" thing going on with each of your sig. Nice! -
I've worked on my own several cars over the years and so I say this with confidence: who knows... No, but seriously--technically gas (fuel) is the key to everything in your car. And the battery is the kick-start to every electronics in a car. But what keeps the battery alive is the alternator. Without it, the battery will drain, the engine will not start and the car will stall. The reason car battery lasts as long as 5 years is the fact that the rate of charging is greater than discharging (head lights, dashboard lights, ipod plugs, stereo, stereo amp, heater, air conditional etc). And the way to keep your alternator alternating (to produce much needed electricity) is to keep the engine running. To run the engine combustion is required. Gas is one of highly efficient sources of combustion. But in the sense of "energy" to run air conditional to keep the car environment cool is Freon. The same principal was taken from your average household refrigerator. A compressor filled with Freon circulates cold temperature by means of diffusion and thermodynamics. So the "energy" to cool the air is from Freon. But the "energy" to drive the air conditioning unit comes from electricity provided by alternator which gets its energy from engine. And the engine requires combustion to deliver, among other things, enough force to keep the alternator going.

People often associate EXPENSIVE with HIGHER QUALITY/SERVICE. What cost more must be better since it costs more; ironic yet often times so true.So if it's not an actual true statement, at least psychologically it becomes a true statement to them.In advertising marketing the first rule of stating the cost of a good product is to stay away from the word, "cheap." Perhaps they were doing the opposite. You want to use "affordable" as a substitute. And a key to successful and consistent sales is to point out the difference between your product and other products. Never bash your competitors. It just makes you one of them. And don't be discouraged by other competitors. A healthy competition is a sign of healthy market. If computer service business is not lucrative as it seems, then you wouldn't have all those competitors in the first place. One of my last advices to any business owners--don't put all your eggs in one basket. It's admirable to put your faith in your business but you also need to be smart. Find that small percentage area that no one is dominating. And go after that as well. Instead of one giant contract of $10,000 business, small volume sales of $100 among 100 customers may be just as equal, if not important.I just love this line from a movie, "...before you can kick some *butt* you have to kiss some *butt*" I've always kept this phrase in my mind. Before you can call your own price, let the small fish go, or turn other business away you should be willing to take every kind of job even if you might lose money a little. Don't forget to consider that $20 job while waiting for that $1,000 gig.

Download dot com features AVG Free Edition v8.0.1Your link shows v8.0. Did it go through a patch upgrade already?**UPDATE April 28,2008**I have installed on one of my computers and so far I am pleased. However, this LinkScanner is annoying me really! I can see the advantage to others.. but I don't like having some program telling me it's safe to visit--that's why I run Virtual Machine if I'm going to visit unknown sites. Arrrgh! The program runs fine even after disabling LinkScanner. But the fact that the system tray icon now shows Red Alert exclamation mark is driving me nuts. And few of us here know how "difficult" I can be if I don't have my icons all lined up LOL

Manufactures of digital cameras establish two terms when they claim "action shot" mode. 1) Burst Mode - it's a simple term where digital camera captures multiple frames (pictures) and instead of saving them right away, it stores them on its buffer. When the buffer is full it then dumps to digital film. So instead of Click...Save...Ready it's Click...Ready (buffer)...Ready (buffer)...etc...Save 2) High Film Speed - instead of capturing a moment any faster, another mode is to "freeze" the water drop. More widely known as waterfall effect. In an action shot you can see all the little droplets of a waterfall instead of one giant blur. This mode requires high, intense light because the film ISO is set at the highest to capture instantaneously. Perhaps that's why it comes out darker. Point and Shoot cameras fall either one of the two mentioned above. Manual cameras (DSLR) offers both options. So you can see why DSLR's have price tag of $500 and up.

There are digital cameras out there which are designed for "fast action" usage. Some digital cameras feature this as "action shots."Here are few tips you can speed the shutter speed (this is the one that clicks and captures your image):1) Turn off AiAFThis is a fancy term for auto focusing program built-in to just about every digital cameras out there. Turning it off and having just the center of your screen to come to focus speeds calculation time.2) Turn off Auto FlashIf you're taking photos in well lighted places you do not need extra time for a digital camera from thinking...'do I need flash?'3) Use faster Read/Write digital filmHaving Sandisk Ultra II, for example, verses some generic digital film makes a world of difference when it comes to saving (writing to disk) time. The faster you save to digital film the faster you're ready for your next shot.4) Increase your film ISO speedIncreasing your ISO from 100 to let's say 400 can help your situation. There might be more pixel noise but sometimes it's unnoticeable. But, if it is your camera that's taking so long to take a shot perhaps it's time for an upgrade. Make sure you weigh out all your options before plunging into a purchase.

I'm assuming you're trying to salvage this thing before you toss it away--just to see if you can revive it?Give us more detail--are you getting anything at all or do you see POST screen at least? What about any beep sounds? They tell a basic diagnose that can be read by counting how many time it beeps (both long and short).Or is this thing really dead, as in not even bootable floppy will save this hunk of circuits?

Also try placing the router at the highest point of the room/house. This ensures that minimal obstruction between your laptop and the router. Try changing your frequency channel. The default of channel 6 sometimes interferes with cordless and some cellphone signals.

A:/ Drive Not Found My A:/ drive is not working.
BuffaloHelp replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Hardware Workshop
If the reading light for the floppy stays lit during the boot up, meaning it does not perform "seek" drive where it makes a quick motor noise, there's a good chance that you have plugged floppy cable backwards. The quick rule of thumb is that the first pin faces the power connection side. The first pin is usually indicated with red color. This side must be facing the power connection cable. If this is how you set in the first place, try reversing the connection. -

Name Server Question Why is the nameserver changed ?
BuffaloHelp replied to dave2win's topic in Web Hosting Support
DomainTools dot com is a good source to probe into your domain.Anyway, co.cc works similar to early days of uni.cc or currently used DynDNS system--nameservers are mere redirect. This is how I'm guessing it works:1. you set the nameserver under your domain's control2. co.cc binds or adds this new nameserver to their host3. a parent alias takes the place on behalf of the actual nameserver (alias nameserver similar to DynDNS)4. your domain points to the hosting server after above rerouteEstablishing alias nameserver is a common practice for many "free domain name" providers because to provide it free, they'll need to save every bit of money they can. And having your own nameserver service takes muchas moolas. Another reason for alias nameserver is the free domain provider has the complete control over your redirection--this is in case if your domain is discontinued or becomes very popular, co.cc can hold your domain as a hostage and they can point to wherever they'd like, i.e. park page. -
Sub Domain Problem : Urgent Cannot access my sub domains
BuffaloHelp replied to dave2win's topic in Web Hosting Support
Again, if you do not control nameservers for your domain OR you have set a redirect for nameservers, Your nameservers are still set to ns1.co.cc ns2.co.cc If you know what you are doing with redirect nameservers you should also know that their cache must be updated to work your domain properly. This may take up to 7 days depending on their update time. To maintain the integrity of your domain with our Xisto hosting, please change your nameservers to ns.computinghost.com ns2.computinghost.com Otherwise Xisto cannot assure 100% working status with your domain. -
Sub Domain Problem : Urgent Cannot access my sub domains
BuffaloHelp replied to dave2win's topic in Web Hosting Support
When was the last time your nameserver was updated? Because your nameservers are still shown as:NS1.CO.CCNS2.CO.CCIf these were changed recently, you must give proper time before it can resolve completely. It may take up to 72 hours. Unless you know what you are doing, your nameservers should be:ns.computinghost.comns2.computinghost.comNot having proper nameservers also hinder you from resolving to your domain properly. And when visiting gallery.zoebelkin.co.cc I see that it redirects to zoebelkin.co.cc/gallery/If you set a redirect from subdomain to your domain/folder please disable it. Or perhaps once your nameserver is set properly this all be resolved altogether. -

Computer Terms Here are some useful terms

Because Brian01001 merely copied from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and didn't bother to read what he/she was copying. -
Too many people share the same birthday as mine... but too many of them I have no idea who they are. Are they important? I suppose since they are all listed. I couldn't copy and paste since it would be just too long.

Although I have not used Crimson Editor for any project management, it has the capability. The only reason I have switched from Notepad to Crimson Editor is the loading and resource usage. It is very low. Impressive.
