Project Gmail Host -take the challenge of this old man
BuffaloHelp replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in The Internet
I am unsure at this point if google took an interest on this thread or they decided to secure their mail server even further...but after confirming with Klass, this project is basically terminated! After 30 minutes of unsuccessful attempts with evilguru's ingenious scripts, the Project Gmail Host came to a halt when the script no longer provides an access to files. Well, it's good to know that someone has accomplished what others thought out to be a ridiculous and impossible mission. And that someone was right here in Xisto! Furthermore, be proud (especially evilguru) that we may have helped (?) google from some unnatural security breach. You're welcome, google. Thanks for nothing! -
First of all, what kind of program did you download anyway that this is so urgent? lol I have a quick question. Did you happen to download those files from a newsgroup or newsreader? If your answer is yes, I think those format can only be open with yEnc. The format is indigenous to yEnc's encoding filename method. All you need to do is install it and treat it just like any other decoding program. It may be tricky, as I remember, but you'll get the hang of it soon. The program will self-search all files needed and un-truncate it into a folder. Then, judging by .bin and .cue files, you most likely have to run image burning software and create a disc from an image file. Let us know how that goes.

Auto Refreshing Sb It aint helping 56k
BuffaloHelp replied to lordofthesabbath's topic in Web Hosting Support
You can control the seconds of shoutbox refresh rate by clicking on View The Shoutbox located at the top of the shoutbox. Then, go to My Control Panel located just below the shoutbox, centered. You will then see Settings. On the right hand menu side, at the bottom, Your time for the shoutbox to refresh? set to the seconds you want to let it auto-refresh. You can set it longer than, let's say 10 minutes, but don't forget to manually refresh the shoutbox (located under the shoutbox) to check other's shouts. Good luck and let us know how that works out. -
Denied Connection and cannot open TRAP17 sites
BuffaloHelp replied to dr1v3r's topic in Web Hosting Support
dr1v3r If you are still having the same issue, where your computer cannot access your said domain name, try reading this thread. I can see your site without a problem. Let us know if this link helped. -
Tricky question and I hope to clarify as I understand the rules.Although you are NOT hosting any illegal materials, if you provide a way (or ways) to help obtain illegal materials that is against TOS. What you have provided is similar to warez sites. And the definitions of illegal materials are found in TOS (which you may review by clicking on the link listed on my signature). In the case of MP3, when you have the permission from the artist of that song, you are to disclose it on your site and CAN provide the link or host it. Anything else would be legal, therefore, you will not have any problem hosting or providing links with your Xisto account.

Excellent device, repeated idea. Although it is a working unit the idea existed, as quotes "70 years ago", similar ideas to use abundant material, such as Hydrogen or Water, to fuel generators, i.e. The Cold Fusion, were thought up by many scientists. The biggest challenge is how to convert it to closed-loop? Closed-loop is when a generator can detach from initial power to start inertia and keep generating power without the external help. The said device does generate electricity but the initial start comes from plugging in the whole apparatus to the wall socket and getting it to start. Furthermore, the article explains that it has poor efficiency problem. This means, for example, it may take 20W of electricity to produce 5W of self-sustaining power. However, this may be the first right step towards the world depending on fossil fuels. The project I worked on many, many moons ago was derived from pendulum swing concept. My project system had 1 starter motor, which was powered by external source and 2 generators. When the switch was thrown to on position, the external power would start the starter motor to power two generators. And when enough RPM was reached, the starter motor would turn itself off and the 2 generators were feeding electricity from each other. As one generator receives power by the other generator, it has enough juice to turn itself and send power back to the 2nd generator and the cycle would continue back and forth. The only problem was that after 2 hours of closed-loop (self sustaining power) the coefficient of drag (the natural friction developed by motor magnets) became greater than supplied free electricity. So the 2 generators would slow down as time progressed. After 2 hours, there weren't enough juice to run either of them.I hate to say it, but seems like the next phase of world's demanding power supply will come from nuclear power plants. Instead of one huge nuclear power plant, small micro-manageable nuclear power plant will dominate the world's power supply.

snlildude87, you don't need to justify yourself or answer to anyone but to administrators. You ARE the moderator and you made your decision. And judging by other posted members, you did good. Good, snlildude, good! I believe the accuser and the defendant both have said their sides. Unless other members feel they would like to comment further to this thread (click on REPORT and ask moderators to open this forum for you) this topic is closed. Thank you for everyone's valuable inputs.

I cannot speak for OpaQue. However, according to posting rules and TOS, I believe OpaQue was referring to some of your posts: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23689-free-web-hosting-chickensarefluffy-free-website-cotltrap17com/ http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23535-what-do-you-do-when-you-cant-sleep-at-300-in-the-morning/page-2#entry154884'>http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23535-what-do-you-do-when-you-cant-sleep-at-300-in-the-morning/page-2#entry154884 http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23452-is-it-insecurity-or-just-plain-stupidity/ http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23534-what-is-the-dumbest-thing-you-ever-done-what-did-you-do-stupid/ http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23535-what-do-you-do-when-you-cant-sleep-at-300-in-the-morning/ What OpaQue would like to see (and this is also according to TOS) is your posts such as this: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23592-applying-for-a-job-with-no-experience/ One liner, such as lol that's soooo true, is considered a spam. The hosting applicants are to CONTRIBUTE rather than just commenting on a subject. Please try again.

One SHOULD always hide SSID whenever possible. The reason one cannot connect when SSID is hidden is because almost all users did not bother to uncheck "let windows configure my wireless setting." Deselecting that option and configuring one's "profile" to always connect to said SSID will ensure one to connect to one's OWN router 100%. If one's laptop does not include 3rd party wireless card managing program, one should avoid that laptop. Windows XP SP2 wireless managing program is the worst! If one is a owner of Netgear, Linksys or D-Link, one can select additional option under wireless setting in the router, "enable wireless card access." This feature, when turned on, only allows designated wireless card MAC address to be network negotiated with a router. This will ensure additional security for anyone who tries to free-load wireless internet access. Checking-up on this menu is highly important if one wants to see who has been trying to connect to your router or sniff your packing (this is where WEP comes in handy). Be sure that one is using 128bit or 20 digit WEP encryption code. This will take at least 20-30 days for a norm hacker to crack one's network package. When one monitors the wireless card MAC address access report on a regular base, one can tell right away the WEP key could be compromised and change the key. But honestly, majority of packet sniffers do not bother with residential home PC users because there aren't anything worth spending time trying to find out, i.e. AIM password, email login, credit card number, etc. If I was a packet sniffer, I would sit outside of stock trade commission?s office or Alan Greenspan's office and see what would be the next buy!

And to think, I almost bought myself the bar code making software... This beats me sitting down and making lines up and down 50 times... Excellent and very innovative way to approach one of Adobe's effects.

How da heck did I get dragged into this one???!!! LOL Yeah, varunone didn't understand the concept of getting the warning. He felt that since moderators didn't catch him at the TIME of the act, that he should not have gotten any warnings. AND since warning was issued regarding a said date, so there shouldn't be no other warnings give to varunone for the whole day's posts. What is this, a parking ticket? Once you received a parking ticket for that day, as long as you leave that parking ticket stuck to your windshield, the officers cannot issued another until the next day? Sounds like he wanted to play "catch me if you can." If moderators missed it on the first time, a warning should not be issued? C'mon! So you can sit there and post 20 plagiarized articles with 500 words each and receive only ONE warning? Well, I like THAT rule!!! And you know you defined "warning" so well how come you can't understand them? You were issued warnings. Fine! You were not banned from this forum or your hosting suspended. And you cry about it? We, moderators, cannot hold your hand and guide you through each and every rules for this forum. That's what TOS and rules are for. Rules are pinned in Alert and Notices and other various posting places. Is it our fault that you did not bother to read them? I tell ya, the audacity on some of the members! Just the other day I get a messaging saying, 'thanks a lot for not helping me (newbie) some moderator you are. I'm leaving because you didn't PM me how to activate my hosting.' [paraphrased] Continuing on, don't make a bad experience for you to be here? Shall I bend down and kiss your feet, while I'm down there kissing-up? Thank god this is the vent section. Otherwise, I would also be banned for losing my composure. varunone, now that you had your vent, we would like for you to stick around and be a member we all strive to be. You said what's done is done, right? If you don't accept not even 10% of the responsibility you will never accept Xisto's TOS and moderators who are enforcing them. What do you say, give it the ye ol' second try?

Caller Id In My Computer What is the best Caller ID Program?
BuffaloHelp replied to ManOfSTEEL's topic in Hardware Workshop
You don't need to apologize to me. I was more worried about you getting banned for asking illegal methods. First of all, you are one smart guy to figure out caller ID strings using visual basic! Second of all, you know that you can perfect that and start selling? I know few hundred clients that would be VERY much interested to have that program. You're welcome. As always, thank you for participating with your inquisitive mind. This topic is closed. -
I'm A Christian... How many are there from this forum?
BuffaloHelp replied to eTronicGaming's topic in General Discussion
Or, most people simply feel that the relationship between the Creator and oneself is a sacred bond and very much private. Therefore, they prefer not to make a showcase out of it... EDIT: entered quotes. -
My friend had AMD 64bit processor since November, 2004. Granted it was made by eMachine, but a 64bit processor IS a 64bit processor. I have to say that that laptop is still the fastest little sucker I have ever seen! And it's not a downspeed processor; it's a full mobile 64bit processor.Unless you are replacing your desktop with a laptop, I think Intel's Centrino M processor will be the future portable CPU design. Extended battery life with decent pipeline negotiating capabilities? You can't ask better than that. Well, unless Intel comes out with the organic processor. Ooops, information leak!

Credits Suggestion This will help forum profits
BuffaloHelp replied to htmlmaster's topic in Web Hosting Support
Thank you for your suggestion, htmlmaster. As you know under the green hosting credits counter, the same dialogue box, you will find the link "Know more..." Once you click that link you will be led to OpaQue's post regarding the full explanation of hosting credits. Towards the bottom, FAQ section, the third question explains that you should contact the administer (OpaQue) to purchase hosting credits, should the member wishes to do so.Great suggestion and it is already implemented. -

BuffaloHelp replied to jerrylili's topic in Web Hosting Support
lmao! I was blinded by your pretty and colorful buttons. I have seen so many large and flashy sigs (or pictures) that I guess automacially I started to look away from other's signatures. I should pay better attention this time. By the way, can one make-up banner to fit one's website color/design? Or is there an official banner that one should use? -

My favorite program is this https://www.smartdraw.com/templates/?catid=.examples.smartdraw.engineering_schematics One program will do thousands of different flow-charts and diagrams. It's known as the missing component to your MS Office Suite. You can import to your web, Office or as a picture (jpg, gif, bmp). This is what I used to use. http://www.gadwin.com/circuit_drawing_program.html

Which Folder.. a lot of folders in my accoutn already..
BuffaloHelp replied to jerrylili's topic in Web Hosting Support
Begin uploading all your files under /public_html folder. Do not touch or delete other folders if you do not understand what they are used for. Under your /public_html folder you can create subfolders, such as image, and you don't need to worry about anything else. And when you link to your own folder, your href code should be something like, image/pictureName.jpg or you can type the whole thing by, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
I can see your website using both IE and Firefox, so it's not the browser's problem. So, it could be the firewall or ISP related. Try this for a size (anyone who can correct me, post it please) Amend the following to your HOSTS file (there are two under Windows XP. HOSTS file does not have any extension where as hosts.ics is NOT to be touched. You can see the full extension by Tools>>Folder Options>>View>>unchecking "Hide extensions for known file types") HOSTS file is located under for Windows XP CONSOLE windows\system32\drivers\etc for Windows 2000 CONSOLE winnt\system32\drivers\etc for Windows ME or 98 CONSOLE windows\ Open HOSTS with your Notepad and add the following under 127.0.0.1 (this is NOT to be touched) So you should see before saving and closing as such: CONSOLE 127.0.0.1 ???? ???? localhost 208.87.243.146 ????http://www.yourdomain.com/ 208.87.243.146 ????yourdomain.com Save it, close all your browsers and reopen them to your site. It should work now. Let us know how it goes. Notice from BuffaloHELP: Edited Xisto.com's new hosting IP address. May 1, 2008 edited Xisto.com's new hosting IP address.

Before I write instruction in detail, I'm assuming you can navigate through Windows XP, i.e. where network connection, property of my computer. In order for you to "connect" to each computer you first set the same name of Workgroup to both computers. Computer names can be different or the same, but I'd suggest different so you can tell them apart, but the Workgroup MUST be the same. You then, MUST designate at least one folder/drive to share. This is done though right-clicking and selecting share option. If both computers can't see each other, just reboot and give it a few seconds to "talk" to each other. And that's it! And since you are (?) using a router or a switch of some sort to share the internet connection, you don't have to worry about using any other settings.Let us know how it goes.

This is the address to your cPanel, not your site. The page you are seeing indicates that you have successfully activated your hosting account. You are missing your web pages. Upload your index file and supporting files via cPanel or FTP. That's all .
