On Why Java Is 'c'ooler! additions / criticisms invited
Chesso replied to shiv's topic in Programming
Take a look at some reasonable sized software and you'll see why it's slow and bulky.... I know I did.But I personally didn't think the larger applications I came across should have been done in Java period.Java serves it's purpose I suppose very well, but also don't forget that C/C++ isn't the only language around. -
Check This Laptop Out I want this for my Birthday ;)

Lmao I was expecting something a little odd when visiting that url, but that caught me completely bu surprise.I think I could do without something like that clankering around my already ouddated stuff . -
Dude try Vista for yourself if you haven't already and eventually you will see the complaints about it, in comparison to XP, the time spent on the darn thing and the price. And also half the features or enhancements that didn't make it in...... after all this time...... surprise surprise!!!

Then again the other 60 to 80% are pissing more of there money away to the sellers and governments.......I wonder which it's really for, just remember how people on drugs will often go through debt and pay through the nose just for a little hit. What do you think will happen with smoking and alcohol, most of them will just quit? man that's quite funny lol. -

Well right now I have a broken tooth that has been buggered for 6/7 years now and it will eventually take out all my teeth and perhaps my jaw and gums. (happened before smoking more or less). And I can't afford to get it fixed either. So why the hell not *shrugs*. -

Well I'm certainly not the fittest person in the world but sure there are much worse that don't have my bad habits even.I think I may have exagerated (especially his condition over the last few years in particular), but I have never met a single person his age that can or will do what he does. But he was born into working, raised on a farm and well I won't go into his whole life story, problems from smoking/alcohol, slipped disk, athritis, asthma etc, none of it will stop him until he is flat out dead, he just can't stay still lol. -

You mean cold turkey? yeah my grand dad did that after 40 years+..... the side effects had him quite sick for some time but he did get better eventually, it just screwed his work for months lol.P.S. He only quit due to money lol.He turned 70 last year and has practically worked, smoked and drank every day of his life and he is still kicking.Heck he might even be fitter than I am :|. -
Oh I never noticed that, I don't have a mobile/cell phone, can't stand them lol.
-
Well I would assume that they would change it for everyone, only doing it for people from a or some countries would be a bit silly and confusing.
-
Regardless everyone has been throwing around 3 to 1, so I simply made an example, it doesn't mean I am saying that's exactly what it is, "EXAMPLE" whether loosely or tightly related to what is or isn't.

Agreed pyost lol. Bit late for me though. The biggest problem with quitting is the side effects (keeping ones self busy enough for long enough until the body is over smoking without A) goin to alcohol, going to another drug, C) eating wayyy to darn much and get overweight and in just as bad a boat.... D) all of or a combination of the above). Not smoking for one or two days certainly doesn't solve it, takes alot longer than that to be weeded off it. If I lock myself in a room for weeks on end without anything to smoke I could pull it off, but I don't even have that luxury rofl. -
Well as far as I know, we haven't really had any (or even close to) major problems with anything outside of our atmosphere. So at this point in time I highly doubt that all of a sudden were going to see large pieces of rock smashing into our planet and taking out alot of things with it.I could be wrong though, but if not, how necessary is the research? (aside from learning more which isn't a bad thing).

Well I have no idea how you all interpret or believe he is 3 of what ever at any one time."whack a piece of himself" was used as an expression, somehow he is 3 but 1, if he crammed himself in 3 different people you could consider that statement true (as an example).

I'm not an "authority" on this subject by any means, but if it hits land I don't think the results would be very desirable.Wasn't there something about a meteor a few years back that never end up hitting, or is this an update on that?

I used to use EasyPHP but had quite a few problems (plus lack of updates) with hosting here (the code I wrote and the how it functioned on hosting). After quite a bit of reluctance I went for WAMP5 and even now I haven't bothered checking for updates as I am very happy with how it runs and the results on the hosting I have here at Asta Host are near perfect to what they are locally.Haven't tried out XAMPP though.

GoogleMail the name is just fine, but I am very used to Gmail and it is much shorter also, which I think is a good thing. Small and easily identifable. It would be quite a nuisance if mine did change as I use it not only for email but also for IM clients like MSN Messenger.Regards, Chesso

Never noticed this topic before "looks at past 11 pages".I would also be going for the desktop. I'm not much into portable electronic devices aside from my generic mp3 player. From what I have seen and know, Desktops are far more powerfull in general for less money (and far more powerfull in general period).I can certainly think of times where having a laptop could be very handy or fun but I still stick with the Desktop for the most part.If however you have the money to burn, then why not .Regards, Chesso

Yeah but we can live longer by eating healthy (do we all eat healthy?), by not driving, by not drinking, heck we'd all be alot healthier if we just didn't live to begin with..... lol.Smoking sure ain't good for you, but what is? -
So he can be a father, a son and a holy spirit all at once.By our way of life that's very very wrong lol. But everything we do is mostly interperated for understanding, our languages are by no means what really defines anything.
-
Well I mean heck if he's god, he can do whatever the hell he likes can't he? lol.If he can make us and everything, I'm sure he can whack a piece of himself in several different vessels.
-
Reading it isn't the difficult part, making any sense of it however is.Most everything I have read up to this point in my life actually made sense and didn't use the same word 50 times..... if you know what I mean.
-
Man you call that short and modern? Maybe for a science fiction write lol.

So was he really the son? As then it might make sense that he would at some point in time become god himself (well to our understanding and nature of life atleast). And does Jesus the new god have a son to hold his position later down the track?Wow this could turn into an endless discussion eh lol.But yeah, assuming God was his father, it makes sense to us that Jesus would at some point be God.
