Normally games that use things like Punkbuster, won't run without it running, so.... the game won't run either, making it useless.

Hi, do you know a good place to learn pixel art? (more specifically character design).I'm making a game which is going fairly well, alot of graphics I can accomplish in MSPaint (basic animations like fire and stuff) or Photoshop (menu's, help screens, some objects like blocks and things like that etc), but right now I am using a ripped gameboy bomberman sprite and I want an original one, but I can't even figure out where to begin designing one (I need to animate it walking in 4 direction at the least also), heck even editing one is a pain for me lol.

Perhaps is he is talking about possible Student and otherwise keys for those licenses, hoping there is a cheaper one.How would you qualify as a student though?

I dunno, everyones hated the guy for a long time, if what he was up to was really having a good effect, surely enough people would have figured it out and spoke up for him (unless his bad outweighed his good, in which case he got just his lol).

But the fact of the matter is, no one can prove any of those, or anything that goes against them so..... what can you do lol.

It's not a mermaid, it's an expirement of half a fish and some other creature cut in half and slapped together, it's obvious......I believe this isn't the first time this has happened.

Is this anything like rapidshare and others?Nice site design and layout btw, it looks really nice and polished.

I would like to have a simple Arrow (that I draw with the custom shape tool) with some nice little effects to pretty it up for my games menu. However, I have a problem, I currently cannot support PNG or GIF, which presents a problem with transparency.I can easily set a singular transparent colour for drawing irregular shapes in my game without a hitch. But, try having a transparent layer (invisible), make a new layer, use the custom shape tool on it to draw anything that leaves background space (some decent space), add some effects like Bevel and Outer Glow.Go to EDIT and Copy Merged, then paste it into MSPaint on a background colour that is not in the image or used as the background and you will see the problem. When it applies gradient affects, it's based off the background colour, this is a problem I do not know how to solve, as when I remove the background colour itself (I personally use Fuschia), there's still bits all around the edges left of w/e background colour was used.

[uPDATE!!!!!] Link to download it is here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It's MegaUpload.com, it is a zip archive that contains an executable and a DATA\MAPS folders with the level data. This is just a simple little 2d game I am making for fun in Borland Delphi 7 (Win32) with the UnDelphiX (for DirectX). I'd just like a little feedback on it and if anyone has any bugs or problems with it thus far. I do all this on my own (sound effects, the basic graphics and animations etc), except of course the MIDI music and the current player sprite which is just an edited bomberman one for know, until I figure out how the hell I'm going to make my own complete with animation lol.

HUMAN CANT KILL HUMAN!!! GOD gave us Life and GOD Only can bring it back!!!Doesn't that contradict itself, or just not make any sense.A human CANT kill a human (well your not too bright then are you mate), God gave us life and can BRING IT BACK.Well, iv'e seen doctors pretty much do that, but random and miracle occurences..... sorry can't say I have, oh well.Anyway, it wasn't reall the us that prosecuted him in the end anyway was it? It was his own people.... they obviously wanted him gone lmao.

Problem With Drag And Drop (or So It Seems).
Chesso replied to Chesso's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah I have sussed out the problem and fixed it, although it shouldn't have causes that kind of problem, I guess explorer just didn't like it and went a bit bonkers.Basically, when an objective of the level is complete, I call an UnInit function to free up all used objects and zero variables before proceeding. However the objective completion is checked within the Collision event for the main player sprite, and I can't free up the sprite while I'm in one of it's procedures for obvious reasons.I ended up remieding it by using a message and postmessage so I coudl exit the procedure before it calls my UnInit function to safely free up the used objects. This also solved some other minor problems and lead to motivating me to stick on and fix a few other things up, so I'm quite happy with the results . -
Well if he wasn't such a bad guy (or didn't realise), how come he didn't make a big effort to defend himself, with evidence of his ever so kindness and lawfull ways.Did he show any examples..... did he tell them about the *GOOD* that he did..... did he even do any good? rofl.

Problem With Drag And Drop (or So It Seems).
Chesso replied to Chesso's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think I know what is causing it.It was working, and then out of curiosity, I ran a game I have been developing the last few days, played around a bit, exited it and tryed to drag and drop and what do you know, it stopped working. But I'm confused as to how this could affect the OS, it certainly doesn't touch the registry :S.Who knows *shrugs*, but it seems to fix itself after awhile.... -

I used to use SpyBot and Ad-Aware, but spybot always bunged up alot with updating so I juse use Ad-Aware now and only install AVG when I need to scan (cause of the annoying services it runs 24/7, and if i shut em down it refuses to run saying blah blah is corrupted, even if there running again). -

Thanks for the links saint-michael, I'll check them out soon after this virus scan finishes up, it's found some small things, mostly to do with IE it seems, which I don't even use meh. -
I'm running on Windows XP with Service Pack 1.The last few days, all of a sudden, the drag and drop functionality of explorer (or anything on the operating system that uses system calls in order to perform it) screws up completely.I attempt to drag it, and it just flickers a bit to the direciton I'm moving it and then fails. It doesn't seem to be the mouse as I can still drag a rectangle selection to select multiple files etc, just no drag and drop. However, it isn't always like that, it works generally (as far as I know) and stop working out of nowhere, and then stops again.Even if I shutdown explorer itself and re-open it, it doesn't make it starts working again (when it stops).Does anyone know what might be doing on?The chances of a virus or something malicious on any level running on my pc is extremely low, but to be safe Iv'e just gotten AVG Free (I already ran a registry application and an Anti-Spyware tool) and am about to install , update and run it to be sure (on the off chance something managed to get onto it).

The images on that link look pretty darn nice. But to be honest, I think that if Vyoma wanted to, he (well asumming Vyoma is a he lol) could more than likely do just as well. It's looking great so far, and from the changes iv'e seen it looks more or less like a matter only time to improve on it greatly (meaning whether he knows how to do this or that, he seems to get it going well). But I don't know any technical detail on all this, it's just what I see lol. -
True, I highly doubt I'll have a chance to try this stuff, atleast not any time soon, but if anyone else wants to chime in with any other ideas, adding on and what not, go for it, I'm definitely interested hearing it.

Well it's wouldn't have access to my internet, I would see to that.It would be meant as a type of LAN, for distance communication (while either of us get our work done on the computer) and to share files etc without wasting bandwidth. If it could be done without so much trouble (or a really long ethernet cable.....) it would be really nice.If we lived on farms or something I would honestly go out and get myself a few hundred meters (or 2000 meters, w/e is necessary) of ethernet cable and attempt to do it that way (with some outside protection for the cable of course). It'd be fun to expirement with too, but here in the Sydney suburbs, that wouldn't go down well at all lol.

Awesome, can't wait.I showed my mum aswell actually lol, she found it quite impressive aswell, and the way she was talking about it makes you realize just how long it can take to do it.She's little more artsy then I am, so to speak. -

Yeah I usually do convert everything to PNG but I keep forgetting as the components I use don't support PNG and I haven't found a good PNG package.I'm using Borland Delphi and the UnDelphiX package (that has drawing surface, basic sprite engine (collisions, animation), image lists, wav lists, midi lists, dxsound (midi and wav for now) etc).Yeah I made them up pretty quick , i'll have to adjust the silly movement lines and perhaps the effect if the hammer hitting, the last two are the Left and Right facing animations, I don't know how to draw the Up and Down facing animations to have the hammer swining from top to bottom so I just made it swing from side to side lol.Btw how is the vector art coming along, had any time to work on it? -
Well if they can find something usefull up there that we can use down here, I say go for it, upgrade the darn thing, why take a step back or have yourself at a stand still if you can move forward.I'm not sure exactly what they do with it or what they are looking for, but hopefully it's something we can use lol.

Well, you have to expect bugs I mean come on, I even checked out the official site and towards the graphical user itnerface end and even beyond they have considerably changed alot! There most always has been quite a number of heavy changes between OS's, so it' sonly natural there would be more bugs introduced, although I even admit there's some that they let slip through there hands through a few versions. But this one is looking quite good indeed!I wonder though, is it as good as they make it out to be? And is there anything they have inside there Vista package that there not telling us about.
