There is a huge difference between shared and dedicated hosting. Shared hosting is when the server resources are divided to many users depending on the plan they buy. The user does not decide things like the OS and programs like PHP. Dedicated servers are the opposite. All the server resources are yours for the taking. Most of the time the hosting company allows you to pick the os and programs like PHP. Dedicated hosting is better for huge sites and hosting companies and shared hosting is better for smaller sites.

Yes cable, telephone, and DSL technitians are the devil if you ask me. One day I finally got cable after having to suffer with the internet I had for so long. The guy who installed the cable had no idea what he was doing. He put the splitter outside of the house and split the connection again in the wrong spot. This caused our basement tv to not work as well as me having to go outside and adjust the splitter every other day when the cable stops working. We called the cable people a few days later. The cable guy came out and claimed to have fixed our tv. He did nothing. We called again and another guy came out. We told him he was supposed to rewire all the cable in the house but he pretended like he was doing something. We still got charged for rewiring the house even though he didn't rewire the house. Why are telecommunication technitians so lazy? Why can't people just do their jobs?

I would highly doubt that these predictions are true. Even the most advanced formula with the right questions can not see whats really in the minds of both people. For all you know the person could feel the opposite of what you thought they thought when you inserted data into the calculator. Not only that a person's feelings can change in an instant.

I used to get really mad about this but now I do not. I simply do not make my webpages work in Internet Explorer. If they work so be it. If they don't work so be it. If they do not care enough to render a webpage the way they are supposed to I do not care about supporting their web standards. If they made an honest attempt at it I would code my webpages to work with Internet Explorer. What I do to counter the problem of web pages not showing up right in IE is place a link to Firefox and a little text blab about how it makes the webpages work, its more secure, and all that junk. We shouldn't have to take this from Microsoft lets show them we deserver respect and do not code your webpages to meet their specifications.

I am very surprised that you have had trouble with Fantastico. I have used it probably 20 times and it has been nothing but a time saver for me. I have tried out many scripts for my site and I hate having to upload, test, and delete scripts that I do not like. Then for scripts in Fantastico its really easy. All I have to do is fill in a bit of information and click a few links. You must have done something wrong like deleting the fantastico file. If you do that it doesn't know the software is installed.

This is not an easy yes or no question it all depends if you are willing to adapt to Linux and its being ignored by many major programs. I would switch to it if I didn't have so many games. If you are a gamer stay away from Linux you will not be able to play them. Other than that its great but you will still make some sacrifices. You know Microsoft Office? You are not going to be able to use it with Linux. You know Adobe Photoshop? Your sig days are over with that. However, do not lose hope! There are many great free, open source alternatives out there that have a bit of a learning curve but give you results. They also have a much better Internet browser some Windows fans also like called Firefox. I hope this helped you out and if you have any more questions feel free to ask me. As for why Linux is better. Linux is free everyone likes free software. Besides that you can run it for a year and it will not crash. Well there is no 1 gigabyte plan on Xisto - Web Hosting that I saw but plan E under budget hosting sounds very good. Unless you have a site that uses a ton of space it seems like the way to go. It gives you 250 megabytes of space and 5 gigabytes of bandwidth for $3 a month with the Cpanel and all that. Seems like the perfect package for you.

To me it looks like Microsoft just stole a version of Firefox, added a few features and made it their own. After looking at the features of the software I was both impressed and unimpressed. I was impressed because they have added all these new security features to it and I think that will make IE a safer browser. I was unimpressed because some of these security features are only available in the new version of Windows. This software is going to be buggy like all Microsoft software because they never fully develope anything so it will not be secure even with the new features

When I watched his videos in science class I always thought he was pretty cool. Made science a little more interesting for a little kid with a short attention span like I was. In fact we still watch his videos in science and they are a good learning experience even though we are in a higher grade. He seemed like he was getting up there in age so I am happy for him that he got married.

Yes I really hate alarm clocks they are the devil. This one alarm clock that I have is the worste of all. When it goes off it starts off really quit but it can get so loud that if you do not shut it off its gonna wake up the neighbors. Has it ever occured to alarm clock companies I am awake but just do not care. At a certain point everyone can hear the thing it doesnt need to be that loud. I also can not stand when my alarm clock is not getting the signal to the radio station I set and all I get is static which is really annoying.

I knew that something like this would happen eventually. I think its dumb that people want to control every part of our lives it is just not right. I was not going to buy Longhorn anyways because they have so many versions and I am sure the good version is going to be very expensive. I think that we have a right to be able to do what we want with our computers as long as it is not illegal. If I want to use open source software I will. Billy can't tell me what I install on my computer if its lawful. My guess is that this is actually some myth people are spreading around to freak us all out. Being able to control everything we do on our compters should be against some government privacy law and should not be legal anyway. I hope it is a myth but if its not well that stinks.

To have your own hosting you basically need a really good T1 line and around 5 or 6 static ip's unless you are planning on having few visitors and in that case you do not need dedicated hosting anyways. You also need to have a webserver on your machine as well as other things you might use like PHP and SQL (I recommend Whitebox Linux its a free enterprise server that has a lot of that stuff). After you have all that stuff you MUST read your ISP's TOS, service agreement, ect. Some internet service providers do not allow you to be a webhost and will shut down your connection (Comcast is a good example I read their TOS when I got it to see if I could host my own site) it is not that hard for them to detect it they just need to see that you have connections to the port used for webhosting.

The exact same thing happened to me. I am going to call the person annonymous phone owner for privacy issues. I got my shiny new cell phone I start getting these calls from people I don't know because annonymous phone owner did not tie up their loose ends. I have gotten calls about how I owe money on this. How I need to go paint this house and never did. How I should answer my phone and I get constantly cussed at. How come cell phone companys have to reuse numbers from unreliable people who can not pay their bills. Worste of all, when I tell these people I have the wrong number they keep calling asking for annonymous phone owner. Its just annoying and I wish that they would get the point.

My advice is to not use a download accelerator they do not work and many of them contain things like ad ware, spy ware, and other stuff like that. The only true download accelerators work by caching information on their servers and their servers have to be faster than the site in the first place for it to speed up anything and I would not even go with that because I have heard the server gave someone a cached page for a forum and they were logged on to someone else's account. Just stay away from download managers you never know what your installing on your system.

Computers are annoying machines aren't they? If you want to talk about hardware and software problems caused by nothing you have done I have tons. My first problem happened a few years ago when I got a top of the line 1 gigahertz processer, 1 gigahertz ram computer. The computer was fine for about a year. After that year of awsome computing my computer kept getting hardware errors. I did a bit of tweeking and I just had to go through a few prompts and my computer was working. After that it just stopped booting up. I fried my processor running the computer at its intended settings. It turns out my case did not have good circulation since little was known about overheating at that time except on the processor. I put in a bunch of new stuff and the processor fried in three months. I eventually got a new computer a couple thousand dollars later. Thats my story some computers are just garbage and need to get destoryed.

In my opinion the people who are teasing you are just trying to put themselves up. If they are too lazy to turn in their homework that is their own fault. They should not bring you down just because their grades might be hurt. Just ignore them and turn it in. If they tease you just tell them its not helping their grade I tell my friends that all the time.

Just to let you know it did not really get shut down if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. There is nothing against the law about cheating and the people who create video game allow you to cheat. Cheat codes get into a game because the people who made the game added them in. There are nothing wrong with FAQ's people can help each other out with games as long as they do not violate a copyright or something like that. In some cases game makers promote strategy guides so I do not see anything wrong with them.

I know what you are talking about when it comes to being clumbsy and especially not being alert. One time I was walking and i stubbed my toe on a table leg. There was plenty of hallway for me to walk around the table. I am constantly bumping into things and people and its really getting annoying. Why can't I be more alert and coordinated?

I am all for legal immigration but illegal immigration is wrong and should be cracked down on. If you come to this country without filling out the proper forms and what not the government does not know that you are here. You do not have to pay taxes and if citizens have to pay taxes to live here people who are not citizens should as well. People can just come right over the boarder and cause harm to our country. If you have nothing to hide whats wrong with comming here legally?

I really do not like Myspace and even though I have never been on the site before in my life it annoys me. I first found out about this from my older cousin. He keeps annoying me to sign up for it and I tell him that its pointless and if he really wants to express himself he should post on a forum or something. He never bothered me again. A few months later some kids at my school start using it. It is no big deal and is not effecting me. A few weeks later people are telling me to read all this stuff they printed off of their Myspace page. I said that I do not care about conversations with you and complete strangers so I just gave it back. Then we were researching for a project in our school's computer lab. I was the only one who was not on Myspace. Everyone was annoying me about how I do not have one and how its so awsome and no one got work done including me (even though I never accessed it). Finally the teacher complained and the school's IT tech finally blocked the site. I have no idea how one site you have never been on can cause you so much irritation but I guess I found it.

I think that these people do not have lives and they are lazy as well. They can not get a job so they put all this junk on you computer so that they do not have to work by stealing information and spreading ads. I do not see why people feel that they have the right to do this. One day all these people will get found out and when they do I am going to laugh.

A power outage is not the end of the world but they can be very annoying. If you remember about three or even four years ago the east coast had a power outage like you would not believe. The whole power grid was out except in a few locations that were close to power plants or were off the grid. Some areas did not have water (we did because the water pumping station in my city has a generator). That was just plain horrible. If the power had not been restored when it did there probably would have been looting. Lights out for a few hours or even a day I can figure out how to live with but not that.

I really like the idea of being able to avoid injury but this idea would also make life very boring for everyone. The mistakes you make can sometimes cause good results and that makes life fun. If you can erase your mistakes then you will be less likely to learn from them. There would have to be some way to prevent abuse of the system to get it to be productive for society.

Well this idea will not get you big hits but it will get you hits of people interested in your site. Just put a link to your site in your Xisto signature. As long as you have a decent reputation on the forum people will usually visit your site (I only visit sites that are hosted on Xisto in people's signatures but I don't know about everyone else). If you take this route don't put in an ad just a text link or an underbanner, you'll get plenty of visits and do not use a refferal link that can get you into trouble. I really like this idea because it is free and the more you help the community the more exposure your link gets.

I think that this is a really creative idea. It is not going to save you that much time or anything but at least you will not have to bend over just to lift up the lid on a toilet seat. You should build a prototype and show us a picture of it.
