Review My Website; Pls help me with some advices..
ameribass replied to kitty's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The site looks pretty good, although I don't really like red and orange together that much. I agree with sxyloverboy that the intro needs to be fixed. Try to space the images out more and make them fade in and out. You might also want to put some sort of an indication that the user should click on the images to continue viewing your site. As the forums go, I like the look of it, but it doesn't match your home page exactly. But the same exists on my site; I don't think that it's that big of a deal. Anyway, the site is pretty nice so far. Good job and keep up the good work! -
Yea, it's really annoying when you're really trying to find something and you think that you got it but the page is one that of another search engine. Usually these are unknown search engines whose links don't have anything to do with what you are looking for. I agree, it is very annoying, but it's not Google's fault.

Designed By You Or Site Builder?
ameribass replied to David789's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I design my own sites; I find it more fun that way and that way I have full control over what happens with my site. I always like experimenting with new things and always have new ideas that I like trying out. -
Wats Up, I'm New can someone show me around???
ameribass replied to baby loon's topic in Introductions
Hey baby loon, and welcome to Xisto!Basically you gotta hang around the forums and be active to get your credits up high enough for you to get a free hosting account. Don't worry, I thought that it would take a long time too, but it doesn't. Once you get enough (10 for basic account or 30 for advanced account - the one I recommend) you will be able to get your free account and begin working on your site. After getting your account here at Xisto, you still have to be active in the forums or else your account will be temporarily suspended. There is a credit meter on the home page of the forums section of the site that tells you how many days you can go without posting while still avoiding being suspended. Good luck on your site and I hope to see you on the forums in the near future! -

Any Good Image Galleries? Looking for a good image gallery
ameribass replied to faith's topic in Web Hosting Support
There is an excellent image gallery you can get over at imagevuex.com. It is coded in flash and has a lot of nice animations and many other useful features. Best of all, you don't need to use a MySQL database with it, making it easy to install and use. Unfortunately, there comes a price with all of its functionality and user-friendliness. I recommend that you go ahead and visit the site and check out the demos. They're really cool. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. -
I agree with canpolitics. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your video card and download the latest driver available. Install the update and then reboot. If you encounter the same problem again, please tell us about it and we'll see what else might be possibly wrong. Good luck!

Man Dies After 50 Hours Of Gaming. wow...
ameribass replied to MystiK1337's topic in Computer Gaming
Wow, how coan you play that long of a time? Whenever I play, 4-5 hours is more than enough for me. I'm sorry, but this guy has no life. What kind of a person quits his job to go olay videogames at an internet cafe. I agree with you, he most likely died from a combination of exhaust and the lights in the game (epilepsy maybe?) Maybe he was suffering from a lot of distress in life too? Anyway, thanks for posting this very interesting news. Good find! -
Hmm, that's weird because I've never had problems with Xisto being down. So if I were you I would recommend contacting your ISP, just like everyone else here said. Good luck on solving your problem!

Parked Airplanes (as Seen On Googlemaps) help me count :P
ameribass replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
Haha, I like the moon with the cheese. It's awesome how much interesting stuff you can find when using google maps. Good finds guys! -
Whenever I used to look for a free webhosting service, I always tried to make sure that they had sufficient disk space, features, and bandwidth. I usually didn't pay attention to uptime; I just hoped for the best. I never thought that it would be such a big deal, until I started experiencing problems with downtime on a server I used to be on. It was terrible. Once the problems started, they never went away. There were times at which I wasn't able to access my site or account for one to two weeks at a time. The funny thing was that on the home page of the provider, it claimed that uptime was 100%. It was then that I decided it was time to look for a new webhosting provider. After some searching, I found out about Xisto. Never had a problem, and have all of the features that my previous webhost provider offered and more. Thanks again to Xisto for offering such superior webhosting with great reliability and features.

Broadband In Gas Carrying internet over gas pipelines
ameribass replied to goldinero's topic in Science and Technology
Wow, that's pretty cool how they managed to make this technology go public, but I am sure that it will be on the expensive side; just think about the maintenance costs! Anyway, this might be good for those who don't have access to cable internet and want to have a fast connection. Good find by the way! -
Welcome to the community, godlymoose!I hope that you enjoy your stay here as much as I am and pretty much everyone else here is. Best of luck on your future website and don't forget to keep posting regularly as it is vital to keeping your account active. See ya around!

Tornadoes, terrorism? Terrorism And Now A Tornado
ameribass replied to aaronajimal's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, I had no idea that tornadoes occured in the U.K. That's something new and quite shocking to me. I actually just got back from London 4 days ago. Despite the terrorist attacks that have recently been occuring in the city as of late, the people really seem calm and are not letting the terrorists stop their lives. I really admire that and must congratulate the British people for not letting the terrorists get want the want. -
Building A Computer I did it, decent price as well
ameribass replied to BeyondEarth's topic in Software
Building your own computer isn't really as hard as many people seem to think. For those that have never done it before, just make sure that the parts that you are looking at getting are compatible with oneanother. The things that you need to know about are usually on the box, so I would recommend going to a store and looking at the different things that they have there. Then, go home and research the products that you would be interested in getting on the internet. After deciding what is best suited for your needs and demands, go back to the store and ask a friend or a person that is working there to double-check if what you are getting works together. The worst that can happen is that you would have to go back to the store and return what you bought and get something else. I highly recommend getting a custom-built pc; I've been using them for years and have never been disappointed. Good luck to all! -
Very good idea! I think that adding more graphics to the site would spice it up a bit more and making downloads available to our members would help the Trap 17 commnunity expand. I really look forward to seeing this go into action. I would be interested in helping out if this "project" ever goes forward, so if you need my help then please pm me. Good luck!

The MSN Virtual Earth service is actually pretty good, even when compared to Google Maps. I think that it is a great technological acheivement when you realize that the whole thing is coded so it works in a web browser. Good job Microsoft. I hope to see more quality products as this one in the near future.

I, too, prefer Intel. I have always used Intel processors all of my life and was never disappointed. The quality and features are very nice and I believe that the reliability is slightly greater than that of AMD. I dont know why, but I was never sold on the idea of purchasing an AMD board with an AMD processor. Anyways, if you were to build a pc, I would recommend purchasing the Intel. Even though that they may be a little more expensive, they are totally worth every penny of it. Good luck!
