I Need Some Advice. please help me out
ameribass replied to monkeys-r-orange's topic in General Discussion
Well...Do you ever talk to her? If you don't, then you should start doing just that. At first, be friends with her, then things will start happening and you will figure out what to do when the time is right. Remember, don't try to force anything; you will look desperate then and she won't respect you. If you could spare us some more information, that would be helpful not only to us but it would be to your advantage too. Good luck man.AmeriBass -
Yes, Microsoft has been known for being behind others when it comes to releasing things that are already on the market. I always use Firefox because of its functionality, security, and its ability to be skinned. And I agree with everyone here, Microsoft should just start all over on Internet Explorer. Let them try to "reinvent the web".

Excel 97 Easter Egg for anyone still using Excel 97
ameribass replied to cse-icons's topic in General Discussion
Yes, that sounds really cool. Unfortunately, I do not own any of that software; I only have Microsoft Office 2003. Do any of you know of any easter eggs for the programs included in the latest edition of Microsoft Office? -
Apple Launches Quicktime 7 For Windows Preview Version
ameribass replied to andrescasta's topic in Software
Hmm... I never have problems with my quicktime. The only time it bugs me is when it asks if you want to upgrade to quicktime pro. Overall, I think that version 7 is the best release so far.AmeriBass -
Fastest Antivirus & Firewall Software
ameribass replied to Inspiron's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I have been using Norton AntiVirus and Internet Security for quite a while now. I currently have the 2005 edition, and the speed isn't bad; it doesn't affect my computer's performance. I heard that the 2004 edition of Norton AntiVirus made a lot of the users' computers much slower. Maybe that is the problem in your case, if not, then try tweaking some system settings to make Windows load faster to help offset the slowdown that Norton causes. If that doesn't work, then I would recommend downloading some trail software and test it out to see if that loads faster (no point of buying it if it doesn't fix your problem). I agree with Xboxgamer1200, Panda Suite is a very good set of tools that are praised by many for their performance. I wish you the best of luck in finding a solution to your problem!AmeriBass -
Yes, I have also heard about this. A very interesting and bold move by Apple. They are to substitute the chips first in the Mac Mini and then will move on to the Power Macs, of course this will take some time, so don't get your hopes up about getting the computers any time soon. Anyway, only time will tell if Apple's move will pay off or not.AmeriBass

Do You Want A Sneek Peek At My Site
ameribass replied to john_meikle's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes, I would like to see your website. It's always nice to see what new things web designers come up with. Please share your site with us, even if you don't manage to get 5 yes votes. Good luck with your site!AmeriBass -
Hey! I am the owner of a psp and at first I couldn't figure out the same thing. The PSP's home screen changes every month; that is, every month has its own background. If there is a color that you really like, just change the date to a different month. You said that it changed to blue with a hint of pink? Are you sure, because the colors are supposed to be only one color with different shades of it. Good luck!AmeriBass
-
I agree, that does look very nice. I like the simplistic design and the nice color selection. Great job! Can't wait to see the rest of the site!AmeriBass

Yes, I really hope that Internet Explorer 7 will actually be a new verison, not just a bunch of security patches thrown together. Something extra that I would like to see would be a built-in skinnable interface; I think that would make a lot of people consider Internet Explorer as their web browser of choice once again. Oh well, only time will tell, we jst gotta keep waiting.AmeriBass

Yes, I've read about this earlier today...What I didn't catch, though, was that the McDonalds was in Oakbrook Mall. I live pretty close to it so maybe one day I will go there and check out what the hype is all about. When I do go, I will make sure to report back to all of you and tell you what the experience of downloading ringtones at McDonalds was like...AmeriBass

Hmmm...Very interesting article and great overall discussion. While I believe that Microsoft has only the best of intentions with the whole error-reporting idea, I think that having to submit your most valueable and confidencial data should not be required when submitting to Microsoft. Unfortunately from a technical standpoint, this is somewhat necessary nowadays as there are so many factors that can affect computers (operating systems) and the errors that they make. A question to the person that started this topic, did the article state whether or not the user has the option to submit the error report or not as it is today in Windows XP? If so, then there really isn't that big of an argument to make of this; you will be ultimately held responsible if your data is sent to Microsoft or not.Anyway, whether we like it or not, our confidencial data isn't going to be so confidential in the future.AmeriBass

Hey, that's my house!Just kidding, but that's a home that I would love to live in one day. It's perfect, except for the price tag, of course. But for that price, I would rather build my own house tailored to my needs and wants. Sweet find by the way!

That's not a bad idea at all! I like the idea of having to navigate your way through a whole city destroying everything in your path. Something that I have to add on to your idea: the vehicles that you are to destroy are not on your radar, or at least not all of them, so that way you have to look for them (following tire tracks, etc.) Well, anyway, I think that the whole concept of entire city navigation will be a common theme in the near future as gaming gets more advanced and disks gain more capacity, so a game like this is bound to show up pretty soon.

Google Map Catches Ufo? whatever it is, it is on google map :P
ameribass replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
Wow, what an amazing find! This is definately interesting. If you look at the picture, you will notice that the object isn't as focused as all of the other things surrounding it, so the "ufo" must have been really high in the air or possibly right infront of the satelite. And I agree, I don't think that Google would bother putting in a fake photo in their maps. If you look at the shadows in the picture, you will see that the "ufo" matches the shadow scheme on the ground, so maybe the object was in the atmosphere after all. Hmm, I'm no expert, but this definately looks interesting!AmeriBass -
I am really looking forward to the PS3. Have any of you guys seen the amazing demos of the console? If not, go to ps3.ign.com. Make sure you see the one with the PS3 eyetoy. It's simply amazing. What the guy does is take 2 empty glasses and moves them in front of the camera. On the screen is a pool of water in which the two glasses in reality are transformed into glasses on the screen. What's really cool is that the glasses can interact with the environment on the PS3. He dips one glass into the pool and then spills the water into the other one. It's hard to explain, go see it!

I wouldn't agree with the statement that xbox 360 is going to have better graphics than the PS3. It's already been proven that the ps3 is more capable of higher processing power than the xbox 360. The revolution isn't going to compete with the ps3 or xbox as it lacks both power and game availability. Being able to play games from 10 years ago is not something that will want to make me buy the console. Most of the games for Nintendo nowadays are mario-related. That's my opinion. (no offense)
