  1. I would most definately go with good ol' gmail. I have been using the service for quite some time now and must say that I am fully impressed and have no problems whatsoever. What's cool is that you can get the shell extension and use your gmail account as a free online locker/storage space. I would highly recommend signing up for gmail to those that have not yet taken advantage of the opportunity.
  2. Dang, that one with over 1,000 letters in it is straight up crazy. What if you had to add that chemical formula to something or write it out in ionic form or something. It's amazing that there are some people out there that actually know things like this. Good posts guys! It really got my attention and interest.
  3. Thanks a lot for the helpful information. I will make sure to try this extension out later as I don't have the time to do so right now. I am sure that it will come in helpful though, as I have multiple gmail accounts and logging in and out between them can sometimes become a hassle. Once again, thanks a lot for the hook up and I hope to see more quality posts like this one in the near future!

  5. I agree that the site looks rather well. One thing that I would change in my opinion would to boost up the frame rate in your flash animation; it will make things look and seem much smoother and make the whole site look better. I also agree with what somebody else said: the fonts are a little boring. Maybe you should consider spicing them up a little. Besides those two things, I honestly think that you did an exceptional job on the site. I wish you the best of luck and let us know if you make any changes or updates or if you have any more questions or need any more opinions.
  6. Thanks for the information. I visited the site and signed up. I just hope that it acutally works as you promised. I will let you all know once I get any updates. Anyone else try it yet?
  7. Hey, that's pretty cool! Thanks a lot for the information. I am sure that not only I but almost everyone else here in the forums will find this post as useful. Once again thanks a lot and I hope to see more quality posts like this one in the near future!
  8. I think that iPods are still cool despite their popularity and their exclusive pricing. I remember when I first got mine before the whole iPod thing started off. I agree that they are high-quality and the designers over at Apple really thought the whole process through and pretty much thought of everything there is possibly to think of when you use your iPod. Although the first ipod that I bought is currently broken - something is messed up with the hard drive - I still think that I would consider buying one. Of course, nowadays, it seems that wherever you turn there are always contests or competitions in which an iPod is the reward.
  9. I think that dreams are so cool. It is unbelievable what the human mind is able to conceive. Although most of the time I don't really look into the meaning of my dreams, some of them do have a temporary impact on my thoughts and actions.
  10. I agree with what the others have been saying: putting google ads on your pages won't increase web traffic to your site but what it will do is help you generate a little extra revenue, which most definately isn't a bad thing at all. If I were you I would go for it, but don't put too many ads on your site as visitors may get angered by all of the ads and lack of content. You can then use your extra money from google to buy a domain of whatever else you may need and advertise your site and those two things will help increase traffic to your site. Good luck and let us know if you need any help or if you have any more questions!
  11. I agree with one of the previous posts made: I find it much easier to just go to the recent posts or topics links and contribute to other people's ideas. And while there are many people here on the forums and many ideas that are thought up are similar in content, what we believe and the opinions that we have are very different from one another. And isn't this the whole point of the community anyways? For people to get together and share their feelings and ideas and see what others have to think hoping that someone else might think of something that they haven't before? (of course, except for the fact that we get free webhosting in exchange - that's the biggest reason that we come here... )
  12. While it is interesting to read about superstitions like these and look at the some of the coincidences more carefully, we do still have to remember that that is just what they are: superstitions. A date does not signify anything concrete, it is more of a label for the day's events. There have been so many predictions of the world coming to an end and all, ever since the year of 2000. But there are things that happen and have been happening ever since the world came to be that we never hear about and in many cases those events are worse and more catostraphic than those that we hear of in the news. What I'm just trying to say is that I truly hope that all of you don't take these things so seriously that you let it change the natural course of your life.
  13. Same here. I seem to be having no problems here whatsoever.
  14. I usually go to sleep at around 10 or 10:30 p.m and wake up at 6:00 a.m. (That totals to an amount of 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep every night). On the weekends, I tend to go to sleep later and wake up later as well.
  15. Wow, a great list of features, isn't it? I would say that the one that I enjoy the most would be G-mail. I also like using google maps (which is also like google earth). One thing that is missing on the list that I think you may want to include would be google adsense.
  16. I agree with what everyone else has said up to this point. Although it seems as if you have the necessary content, you need to design a nice graphical user interface in order to make the site look more professional and win over the confidence of your guests. Anyways, good luck on your site and tell us if you make any changes or updates!
  17. The prices for new technologies are always astronomically high at first. I am sure that if enough time goes into the development of this technology, new methods of building it will be discovered and that will help bring the production costs down. Interesting to see how much data we are capable to store on disks in the future..

  19. Yea, these rumors have been around for a long time now. Let's remember that these are only rumors and only what people are hoping that the companies may release rather than what they actually will release. I am currently in search of a new phone, possibly the sony ericsson w810i, so if apple were to come up with something or let the public know, I may just find myself holding off to see what apple can do. So far, the combined project between motorola and apple didnt seem to work as well as they had hoped, so hopefully apple will learn from its mistakes and make their "ipod phone" much more improved. But despite all of this talk, I can't really see apple making a cell phone as they have no experience in the field of telephones and it would most certainly hurt the sales of their regular ipods, something that they most definately dont want to do. Oh well, only time will tell us so we'll just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, the ipod phone wont be coming out anytime soon as apple just announced all of their new products at the developer's conference and there was no mention of the apple phone.
  20. Although I rarely use Internet Explorer, I still don't think that it's as bad as people say it is. I regularly use Mozilla Firefox and I'm completely satisfied with it, but don't think that it's exponentially better than Internet Explorer 6. Once IE7 comes out, I think that the gap will be bridged even closer if not all the way. And enough about the security holes. Every program out there has security exploits, but Internet Explorer has the highest rate as it has the highest market share and hackers devote more of their time developing security exploits for the program that has the greatest audience of users that they can reach. It's simple really, just as OSX is "hacker-proof" and Windows is "an invitation to hackers". Anyways, I think that some people are just over-reacting to Internet Explorer just because they listen to what some ignorant individuals have to say. If you don't like the browser, then just don't use it. Nobody is forcing you, and I know that as a fact because no one forces me.
  21. What you just did, posting your site's description and link on the forums, is a form of advertising in itself. Most, if not all, of the people that have responded to this topic clicked on that link that you provided us with and went to your site, increasing your site's traffic. Just keep thinking about ways you can help promote your site, whether it be on forums or handing out fliers to people you know or don't know. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck on the future of your site and if you need any help make sure to come back and ask any of us!
  22. Hmm, interesting topic you made up here. From all of the options that you had given to us above, none of them really stand out to me. I can imagine a different scenario for each one of them that would make me not want to eat or exactly the opposite, it wouldn't matter to me. For example, if a piece of my sandwich were to fall on the ground in my house, it wouldn't really matter. But if that same sandwich were to fall outside, say, into a puddle of dog urine, then i wouldn't eat the sandwich nor would I pick it up. Once again, cool topic and I am interested in hearing other people's opinions and view points on this subject. Hope to see more topics like this!
  23. I have a debit card and I have bought many things online. I have a Visa card that was issued to me by Chase Bank. In order to get a debit card, you need to open a checking account with the bank that you are at and they will send you a debit card in the mail, usually within the first week. If you are under the age of 18, some banks have programs where you can get something called a high-school checking account where your account will be linked to your parent's account in case you fall into debt. This is just to assure the banks that they will get their money back as people under the age of 18 do not have any credit history as they cannot legally enter binding contracts. Good luck and if you need any help, make sure that you come back and ask!
  24. Yes, I am very familiar with HTML. When I first got into the whole web-design thing, I remember that I learned from a book about HTML. I used to design web pages the old school way, using notepad. Nowadays, I use programs such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage, but every so often there are things that need change or tweaking that require you to go and inspect the code and change it manually. I think that knowing HTML is a valueble tool for anybody that is interested in creating a website.
  25. Interesting, as I have never found any uptime problems with either my site of the forums here. The only problem that I experienced was during the upgrade that recently occurred - I had troubles logging in for one day. Other than that, Xisto has always been up! Keep up the great work guys!
