ahh now I understand what you mean a bit clearer :)And the answer ofc is yes!Goto the MySQL site and download the MySQL query browser, this is a great tool for MySQL and works pretty much like phpadmin..nice features include a history or actions and you can bookmark important ans much used queries.Also theres a great administration tool on the MySQL site also, this works pretty much like the MySQL section of cpanel but its more usefull..just configure users and permissions and then use those login details to conect to Asta via these programs and you should be all set..

Yup this is possible...just make a new user in the MYSQL side of things..give them permission to the DBs that you need them too..thats it

Sounds like you have a driver problem or lack of one What version of windows did you reinstall? What you need to do is to find out what model soundcard is in the pc and then if its intergrated and or if its a seperate PCI card. Is your pc a prebuilt one like a Dell and have the audio sockets on the motherboard? or is it a seperate card? Dell, Compaq etc wil have all the drivers on thier sites..just search with the model number and find the drivers that match your version of windows. If its a PCI card such as a soundblaster then look on Creatives website a set of drivers that match. Another suggestion could be looking up the driver on http://www.driverguide.com/ you will have to register with a proper email but they dont spam you just send you a password. Good luck and post if you have a problem..

the only program I know for doing this is partition magic..and it doesnt work its magic most of the time..it can be very tricky getting everything the way you want it..I would try to backup all the stuff you need to a portable HD then remove all partitions using the Linux install disks and start again with it..I have saved a lot of time and hassle in the past by doing this..Good Luck!

Sorry buffalo I should have mentioned that the MySQL backup job only runs once a day at 5am Eurotime.Its the RSS one that runs once an hour.Yes Vyoma the stopping and starting is whats been happ to me since November..when the cpanel was upgraded ;(Still some bugs to be ironed out with it I think l;(

Sorry but my backup backs up a MySQL db and zips it up and sends it to me..its 61kb big!!So I dont think this is putting a strain on the server..My RSS feed importer should be running once an hour (I set it to 5 min to prove that it doesnt work) and when it runs it imports bytes not kilobytes or megabytes but bytes...its text headlines to news stories and a link..so again I dont think this is putting the server under strain..Also I can still not explain why this cron has been set for months without running then suddenly starts running again after a server reboot.Also I cannot understand why my cron job was deleted from my cpanel when I checked before I went to bed last night..I had to set it up again..Vyoma..you still having probs with your crons???Marky;)

Hi , It seems that Vyoma and I are the only people trying to use the Cron job service on Gamma..we posted requests back in November about this but it is still a problem.. Last week I went back into cpanel and activated the cron jobs I have running..these crons run a Joomla component that uses RSS to import feeds and publish them on my front page as new items..Also I use cron to "try" to backup my sites.. I know my syntax is correct and it should be running..but it doesnt.."GET http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ >> /dev/null" is the command i try to run.. I tried and tried with different time settings and eventually gave up leaving it to run every 5 mins.. Days later they suddenly started to run again..heres the output email.. "START Feed Gator Import Processing: Sat January 13, 2007, 21:25:05 GMT" then every 5 mins since then its been working and sending me mails to confirm it.. I have changed the time schedule on the cron now to run every hour and I will edit and post up if this works.. Can an admin look at the logs and see what happ to Gamma at that time? my guesss is a reboot, and then try to see why this has been so "off and on" for months now..my guess is the Cpanel upgrade months ago.. You miss the point Unimatrix..just like with thier tech Apple is jsut behind the times..they kinda think they own any words that have "I" at the front but a simple google proves they dont..if I can do it why cant they?Arrogance? they think if they do it that the other companies will back down..like with Creative and the jog wheel...

I would like to add its not just a Fench thing..us Europeans just tend to look after ourselves a bit more and really watch what we eat..its very easy in most Euro countries to see exactly whats in the food from labels on the front..not tiny ones hidden on the back..The UK has even systems of stars and rosettes on the front of food stating how much salt/sugar/ etc is in the food..so at a glance looking at different products on the shelf you can see RED stars for high salt content and Green stars for more healthy foods..This should really start to make the producers of food think more how they can make foods healthier because maybe thier competitors in that range will have a "healthy" product..Marky)

I agree with Vis..its prolly a trapped connection in the hinge..same thing happs to monitor cables trapped in between desks.normally you get a loss of colour in one band ..or it cuts the power off..the way to prove it would be to hook it up to a normal monitor and see if the same problems are occuring..Good Luck..

Hehe ...NO is the answer because Italk is used as a product name by many companies..a quick google and I found pages and pages of different products..mainly Voip systems or mobile phone companies..so they will be stepping on other companies toes...Why not call it IHype?

Any soundcard with a line in connection can do this (with the right cables!!)..and yes I doubt very much Creative will bundle a decent app to do this with..look at something like Wavelab from Steinberg to be able to filter and de noise old recordings..

It all depends what you want to use it for..My friend has one and its ok quality just to listen to music or play games..but if you want to do more serious audio work then its really not able to compete with for instance M-Audio usb or firewire soundcards..

Ok i found another killer quote from the Apple camp.. So expect to pay $499 to $599 without a contract! Oh and its SOO magical...you have to wait 7 months for it!!and by then it will be over three years out of date.. Prolly the "wizards" working on spinning such magic together must be busy for the next 7 months trying to match the hype that Apple have spat out at the world..... Shall I post up some pictures of my phone running Opera? yes it comes with IE on it out of the box..and Outlook..yes I use Gmail on it..and I use Googles nice little Gmail app for it..but unlike this Iphone I can actually pick and choose which software I use on it..just like with your computer..something that is in very much doubt about the Iphone..I hear its going to be locked down by Apple and the only software on it will come from Apple itself..thats why in my first post I mentioned that it was locked in!Will the screen be the so called "scratch resistant" screens thats on the Nanos? I worry about finger nail scratches all over the display because to do anything on the phone you have to touch the screen..sending SMS via a virtual Kb is soo difficult! I much preffer to use a Kb to do it also...Also now I hear its NOT MMS capable...LOL! the list of features the Iphone doesnt have just grows and grows as the hype from the journos wears off and people really start to ask...whats in the pretty looking box?NOT MUCH is the answer

For the same price as this..Beringer do a Midi Mixer..which with software will mimic a proper mixer..and then you will be able to record etc the mixes and with Traktor control everything you would ever want to do with mixing.It even has two scratch pads to scratch with Mp3 or wavs or you could remap them to do whatever..like all the other sliders..knobs and switches.. http://www.music-group.com/brand/behringer/home

Good point SM..yes Apple have had a success with the Ipod but as we know it was nothing new..and the one thing that maade it stand out was the jogwheel...the same jogwheel Creative invented 3 years before and hold the patents on... Apple are trying to be a Microsoft and "be all things to all men" they are dipping into markets like the phone market where large companies like Sony and Nokia have been battling for years..so how do Apple try to compete there? they offer a product that they claim is a "revolution!@!!!!" But when you see whats inside you realise is just plain "OLD!" but hey its got a really nice shiney case on it!!Apple own Ipod so of course the phone should be called Iphone!!! my bet is their arrogance got in the way of checking if that name was actually available to them to use.. Edit...I found this on the BBC news site..It proves thier arrogance even more!! I hope Cisco stand back and see if its a success (i HOPE its not!!) and then stick Apple for Millions of dollars for infringing Cisco copyright, they asked permission to use the Iphone name and were DENIED but hey they went ahead with it anyways!!Apple have this great way of marketing old technology to the masses..they been doing it for years with thier computers..and of course getting all those geeky graphic designers who use Quark and all the musicians who use Cubase to chant like a mantra "Apple is better!! Apple can do so many things a PC cant!!!" guys that argument was over 5 years ago or longer...Apple can NEVER compete in the computer market!! so they shift thier focus to other products such as Mp3 players and phones.. I hope the big companies in these sectors take them apart like the big computer manufacturers have in terms of computers.. Ok I have cast my eye around a few sites to do with this Iphone..and I'm really not impressed!!..as usual Apple claim they have re invented the wheel!! and are charging the earth for a product thats two years out of date. Yesterday I had a rant at that Ipod Tune Studio thingy and exposed that as worthless garbage...lets go head on with the Iphone ) So today I went to Apple.com and got forced to watch demos on this Iphone.. With every new release they just add more and more spin to their press releases.. Lets explore some of these "claims" shall we.. They are saying that operating a mobile phone by touch screen is their idea and are even try to patent it!! Just like they did with the jog wheel design they stole from Creative and are now due to have to fight a court case over... These are direct quotes from the apple site...then below the lies and myths picked apart.. Breakthrough Internet communications device... Breakthrough? in what way? I have a Qtek9090 smartphone now for almost TWO years - I can surf the net via EDGE and or WIFI - I use the most advanced web browser for a phone already!! its OPERA not Safari.I have never had any troubles syncing my mail or to think about it my bookmarks from my pc, Active Sync or 3rd party apps take care of this. I have a great button on my phone like a joypad that I can use to scroll up and down webpages with so you don't have to keep tapping the screen to scroll.. My phone is FULLY multi-tasking too!! I can watch DIVX movies and take calls..I can listen to Mp3s have a half played game and an SMS/Email open all at the same time no probs at all..not that I do that but when I first got the phone I used to forget and leave lots of apps open all the time. WideScreen Ipod... My phone has a 3.5 inch "widescreen" also and at a flip of a button I can change from portrait to landscape mode..perfect for watching tv or movies on. Drag and drop lets me sync all my content from my Mp3 folder (I do not use Itunes!!) and ofc I can access it at the touch of a finger with a choice of about 50 different mp3 players.. Revolutionary mobile... This has to be the biggest lie imho..what the hell is revolutionary about using your finger to select a number from your address book? every smartphone with touchscreen allows this!! Mine not only allows this but I can dial any number in the world with one finger!! I can revolutionary use a finger to key in a number!! And guess what? yes I can sync all of my contacts from my pc/sim card etc just like the Iphone.I can select what order I listen to my voicemails in too and my carrier even sends me a a free sms telling me the number that called me and if or not they left a message on the voicemail is that a revolution? Any smartphone with a touchscreen does all of this..... High Technology.... High technology??? I know Apple are Americans and IMHO speak English as a second tongue ( yes I am English so I have the right to say that ) but to use such a phrase as "High technology" on thier site is just plain stupid. Should it be High grade technology?? or Stoned technology?? High standard technology?? or should it be High revolutionary standard revolutionary technology revolution??? Still I am really having trouble with the word revolutionary as you can see..its reared it's ugly head again on this quote from Apple..and once again I CANNOT see the revolution!!! a standard touchscreen phone has ALL of those features!!! and mine has a highly durable qwerty kb that slides out of the back..and it even has revolutionary blue LEDS on it!! Are Apple going to allow us humble non revolutionists access to the inner workings of the OSX thats running on it? are we going to be able to make our own apps and post them as freeware like the smartphones can? is there going to be thousands of apps written for this? like there are has been for the smartphones? I have to mention its got a 2 megapixel camera installed when the new phones these days have a 3 megapixel camera in them. Storage - Apple say that it will come in two models a 4gb and an 8gb version..what!! you can't use memory cards in it?? why?? My phone uses SD format cards and I have a 4gb 150X speed card and a 2GB 150X card my phone makerclaims to only support it upto 6gb but people on forums have an 8gb card running in it no problems at all, so the potential to get 10 or 12gb cards in it is there.. So all in all this Iphone is NOTHING that the whole world didnt see 2-3 years ago..there is NO REVOLUTION despite Apple chanting it like a Mantra!!.. Mark420-Exploding the MYTHS that Apple sow.....
