Four BeepsMeaning Of The Beep Sounds In PcI had a Dell Inspiron 530 that started but nothing came up on the screen. It also was beeping four times. After unplugging all the peripherals and took off the cover and took out the four RAM cards and reset them. I put everything back together and started it up. Beautiful. Why are you saying 3 hours without shelter? That doesn't even make any sense. You can survive a lot longer than that without shelter. The rule is 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food. Granted 3 minutes without oxygen is off because people can hold their breath longer than that. Also I'd agree more with 30 days without food than 3 weeks, but they're both close. Just so you know, what people actualy NEED to survive is : Food, water, oxygen, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. The 3 rule just addresses food, water, and oxygen because it assumes you're on earth and have atmospheric pressure, and temperature varies too much depending on where you are. Although there is a time where you die from hypothermia that you could include, but it all depends. Anyway, I've seen people that do free diving that hold their breath for 5 or 6 minutes. They don't suffer brain damage or lose conciousness. They just have an abnormal lung capacity. People have also been recorded going into a meditation like state and staying under water for over 17 minutes, it's in the guinness world record book if you want to look it up. But when I try to copy a file I get the message I can't copy it here. Dragging to Puppy's desktop just produces a link. What I'm trying to do is recover files from a damaged Windows OS to Puppy. Either that or use Puppy to transfer them to another partition on my HD. Am very new to Linux & unfamiliar with the required commands & file structure. Assistance would be much appreciated. Hey it almost worked...Internet Connection Sharing With Xbox 360 And A LaptopHello! Thanks for all the help it was great, however even though I managed to get connected to xbox live, as soon as it asks me to update it, which I click yes, it says there is a problem with my connection. When I just 2 secs earlier was connected to both the network, internet and the xbox live. I checked networks, and realized my router wasn't there anymore. I tried to connect to the internet using the computer with no luck. It only worked when I disabled the local area connection. Now how come it works for 2 seconds and then shuts down? any help would be much appreciated! thx Nick -reply by Nicky
