Windows 7How To Change The Windows Xp Shell.Hello, I have Windows 7 and I want to change the welcome screen login picture. I have put the OEMbackground REG_DWORD Value:1 Base:Hexidecimal and have placed a .Jpg image in C:Windows/System32/oobe/info/backgrounds; but have not had any success. I have also tried a .Bmp image and .Png image(different and same pictures on all 3). Also there is a "(Default) REG_SZ, value not set". Please help me understandDealing With A Long Term Relationship Break UpI was with my boyfriend for 7 years. We were so happy together and even when I wanted to move overseas and travel, he came with me because we were in love and didn't want to separate. He moved overseas based on my citizenship in that country and we were very happy travelling and setting up our new lives. He had a job that was very demanding and required long hours, so I took care of everything else like the flat, the cooking, and so on. Two years after we moved, he got permanent residency in this country. At the same time, he got fired from his job and I helped him through the legal mess and supported him finding a new one. He got a better job - better job title, better money, better hours, better perks. And he left me. He said after 7 years he felt we had grown apart, although ironically I thought after everything we'd been through, we'd actually grown closer. Is it possible to be completely blindsided by someone? He hates this city and the weather and says he doesn't care about residency, but I feel used and I feel so lost. He moved out of our flat immediately and I had to give notice and find a new place to live. I moved last week and I've managed to keep myself busy and distracted, but it's been 5 weeks and it's so hard. We were best friends and knew each other so well, we travelled everywhere together and had so many beautiful memories, and now I'm left just sitting here wondering what he's doing and whether he misses me or if it was all just a calculated act. Can someone please help me understand how you can just leave someone after 7 years? How do you give up your life and all that shared history?

Facing same problem...Windows 7 Freezes (again)I'm facing the very same problem! My Windows 7 freeze every time I opened two or more files within Office 2007. I have a i7 920 processor with 12 Gb of DDR3 (triple channel), and this "space ship" can't deal with three word files???? ***!I have two disks of 1TB under RAID1 structure (fakeraid), but I don't believe that this array has any influence over the W7 problems. I also have Ubuntu 9.10 (in other partition) and the computer doesn't presented problems running with Linux... Opinionated Pokemon Heart Gold And Soul Silver (remakes) Confirmed! Well, these remakes are pretty cool, IMO, but they aren't new games, just the same game with added features/updated graphics and sounds and MAYBE some different dialogue. Some of you would disagree with me on that, but to me, it covers the greatness of Gold, Silver and Crystal and compliments it with the symmetrical/psuedo look of Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Nonetheless, I am still excited about it being released and I will be getting SoulSilver since I lost my Gold version and never played it. I've watched multiple videos and I am impressed with the way most of the towns, villages and cities look, how they took aspects from Yellow and placed them into the game, added the Pokathalon and whatnot. I played Platinum a lot and I'm not so excited about the overworld screens and battle screens, but still, to have THE two best games in the series buffed up with those same graphics is pretty exciting. puzzling internet problemsWireless Router Problems.So I've got a really odd problem and I just wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas on it. For a few weeks now our wireless network has been acting up it works but only intermittently, the time that it works varies from a few hours to a few minutes. We're currently using a linksys wrt54gs wireless router, probably around a couple years old. Usually giving it a reset will bring the connection back for its brief visit and then it stops again. When I tried plugging my ethernet cable directly into my modem the computer was getting limited to no connectivity. For some reason it wasn't getting any IP address from the modem and had no dns server information. For some reason though if I go back to running from the modem to the wireless router and plugging my computer into the router LAN ports, I go back to having a hardlined internet connection and the intermittent wireless connection. We bought a new Netgear Rangemax Duo Wireless-and router to try and hook it up and see if that made a difference, but when I was setting it up for some reason it couldn't get through to the internet and the set up didn't complete.One of the stranger things about the intermittent wireless issue is that things like online games and downloads continue to run almost uninterrupted when the connection stops, but you cant access any webpages and search functions inside of online games also stop working. Last night we called comcast who is our cable provider and they said that everything on their end was working alright and they reset our modem which left it working briefly, and later that night it was back to the same issues. In all honesty I'm puzzled and was wondering if any of you had any ideas or have encountered similar problems because I've tried everything I can think of to try and fix it. -question by Ewok
