I like every sort of interesting things. I got a band, I develop PHP websites in notepad, I program AI for automation, and I love online gaming.
  1. hey dude happy birthday!

  2. How its a good thing you've finally set it up right. But by the way... i was confused when you said "but a hub cannot assign separate IP" since DHCP servers do the IP assignment not the hub nor the switch, except for those with built in DHCP servers, commonly on routers. 10mb/s is pretty ok for internet but annoying on file transfers.
  3. Before my PC Router I was using an Edimax Router hardware. It was good and fast but one thing I realized is that power failure usually corrupts its settings and made it act weird. Slow connection, some units can't get IP's etc... I tried resetting (through its reset button) and it worked fine after. Using hardware router 24/7 sometimes corrupts the settings as well, maybe because of the heat, so I discarded it and used a PC for my routing needs. So try resetting your router, upgrade the firmware (which is crucial and dangerous). Try reinstalling your Ethernet Card driver and delete the 'winsock' and 'winsock2' entry in the registry cause sometimes it gets corrupted because of power failure.
  4. IMO the best anti-virus is Kaspersky. It has d best scanning engine and its so light that it won't affect your computer's performance. Easy update, easy install good software.
  5. For internet cafes:Use a PC Router.. Install Kerio Winroute Firewall...It has this module called ISS Orange Web Filter which is the best blocking filter for me... block websites categorically etc etc etc... the best! Now all clients have a filtered surfing experience... and fast!
  6. I think i know what you want... http://wmrecorder.com/home/ the best recorder for streamed videos... WMV, RM, MPG... flash video is another story....

    About Brontok

Ok, the usual problem that has been brought to me for repair... here's the easiest way to do it.This method doesn't require an extra PC, we do it on the infected PC.Download Kaspersky Anti-Virus... the best IMO. Rename its installer to [random letters or numbers].exe or .msi, why? Brontok will detect program names and windows with 'ANTI, VIRUS, CMD, EXE' so on and closes it so you won't be able to install anything that would remove it.If you got a Kaspersky license key place it on the same folder as the installer for auto detection and get it to run in full mode. Now how can you install something when brontok closes every program installer?? We use the installer parameter! Every known installer maker have their own parameters for unattended or optional install. The Setup (This is a rough example):Right drag on the kaspersky installer and release... you'll see a menu pops up, select 'Create Shortcut'... then right click on the shortcut and select 'Properties', you are now on the shortcut properties window... on the 'Target' field after the double qoutes add /QUIET for this will install kaspersky in quiet mode without opening any window, in other words will just install in the background so brontok won't be able to detect it.Wait.... after a few minutes you will notice your hardrive had stopped its read/write process which is a good sign that it has finished installing...Restart and see the magic! It will block every autostart of the virus... now clean and scan the whole drive until it is clean.Residue? There are! When you restart again... you'll notice an error message "Cannot find.." you just have to remove it from the registry... but registry is locked right?Download 'Windows Configurator' its a free registry tweaker and unlocks your locked registry! You can now go to run type 'regedit' and search for the filename that was displayed on the "Cannot find..." dialogue box... remove that added entry.. usually added on the end of the '.exe' registry entry...If 'Folder Options' is lost... search google on how to restore it.. just requires a few registry tweaks again.
  8. There maybe more reasons why your computer is restarting while playing games...Per-experience... usually its with the PSU but not all. Before upgrading your Vcard, are you having the same problem? if not then maybe the PSU can't provide enough power... MAYBE! But, look closely on your new Vcard, does it have a so powerful GPU? If yes then look on its heat sink and fan... do you think it can discharge the heat efficiently?I bought a few FX series vcard 2 years ago and realized the cheaper brands got thinner heat sinks and smaller fans... result, pc restarts when the GPU gets very hot so i bought the PALIT brand (still FX series) which has better cooling systems and solved the problem. Are you on AGP or on a PCI-e board? The unseen mistake of AGP is that it wasn't realized that sooner or later VCards will be having Power Hungry GPUs which the AGP Slot cannot provide. This resulted in fried mobos. So we had the PCI-e which fixed the problem and gave us the new 24pin power connector.
  9. There's a big confusion here...What do you mean by manual shutdown??Some of the replies refer to Pressing the power button and wait for the computer to shutdown... while some refers to Holding your power button until the power is off... which are two different things.Referring to Manual Shutdown #1 (Pressing the button): It doesn't hurt your computer since it is just the same with going to 'Start>Turn Off'... its just a shortcut button!*Referring to Manual Shutdown #1 (Press and holding the button): This will sometimes result in data corruption, why? Because during the normal shutdown process, Hardrive Read/Write heads are being parked on the SafeZone. Doing this will just leave the head on top of the plate destroying some precious data.*if it is set in your ControlPanel>PowerManagement or in the BIOS.
  10. We should thank thousands of people for leaving their computers on 24/7. And it was so good and so beneficial for us...Imagine youtube, google, and Xisto servers not 24/7? My router in my internet cafe is a desktop type NEC which has a 60watt power consumption (I really love japanese equipment since they are very much power conscious). Branded units are better for a 24/7 work time, why? Most of the branded units were engineered upto the last specification. Heatsinks and fans are well enough for the unit, power supplies were designed to supply just the right amount of power for the unit.
  11. I've had the same situation when i visited my dad's office. The whole school network was under a proxy server that filters chat and some websites. So i think of a way to chat passing thru the filtered network anonymously...Search for the stuffs like Tunneling softwares, they bypass network protections and proxies. I forgot the exact website and software name that i used since it was 2 years ago.If you are not under a proxy server then maybe try installing java runtime on your computer. And that pop-up sounds like a WinXP exploit... use windows update and a worm remover if you think you are infected.
  12. Why do you have to change your IP? A good reason would make it clearer. If you have a static IP then you should contact your ISP to get you a new IP.If you have a dynamic IP or on a PPoE type then just reconnect/redial and you're done. Most ISP's won't let you change IP unless you can justify the your reasons. (eg. DDOSed)
  13. Hi there.Robots shouldn't have rights, but they can have privileges which can be revoked at anytime anywhere when needed.I disagree with the thought of animals not having feelings like us. They have these basic feelings and emotions, unlike us which are more complicated. Animals cry when hurt, rest if sick and so on.A robot is basically programmed to do things, logic. Doesn't have feelings, it can have sensors but it only adds to its logical options which is very different from human feelings and emotions. They can't get confused since its a river of 1's and 0's.The greatest difference of humans from other animals or from robots is we have this things called "Reason" and "Judgement". And God perfected this Organic Machine upto the smallest cells and atoms, imagine muscles that can move faster than hydraulics or motors. A brain that has a capacity to store a lifetime of memories. We also have this "Instinct" that made us even more human.
  14. Looks like the CD drive has the problem. If you can go to the bios and change its settings then its quite fine (but corrupt bios causes this too). Now go to your bios and load the optimal settings, at least give it a try. Go to standard CMOS and see if your Hardrive and CD-Drive is detected. But based on the info you gave us, most likely the the CD Drive has the problem. If the lens gets dusty, it will just try to read the cd over and over rendering your unit unusable and even disables any keys.
  15. Speaking of DualCores, there are variants of Intel DualCores aswell as AMDs. The Pentium D and the Core2Duo (Conroes) are examples. When deciding on what to buy, try to realize what you want to do with the unit and what applications you want it to have. 90% of current softwares doesn't utilize dualcore technology so using those apps will just consume double power on a single processing speed. This means, lesser battery life, hotter unit and more expensive. The previous intel dualcores (Pentium D series) are said to be inefficient since it consumes so much power with only 33% processing gain. But the Conroe technology changed it all. This Conroe is byfar the most efficient dualcore processor today since it boosts performance with lesser power and cooler unit. So it has a better Boost/Watt efficiency.I've been using Pentium D on my video editing unit before since Sony Vegas 7.0 can utilize dualcore technology but i eventually moved to conroe and trust me, its really better.I also had AMD X2s and AMD Sempron units and they are really good in gaming but power monster units.AMD in laptops aren't that good for me.So know what you need to do before deciding.
